Barbie House in Singapore
I recommend that when you visit Singapore, don't limit yourself to the famous street areas; instead, try to explore something unique that others might not have experienced yet. Personally, I always do that wherever I go. Recently, I discovered a beautiful place with Barbie vibes in Singapore, and I absolutely love it here. It's a residential house, and although it's cute and perfect for creating content, it's important to be respectful and ask for permission before taking photos or shooting videos. You can find this place on Khoon Seng Road, which is located near that street. The best part is that there's no need to pay for a ticket; it's free to visit!

Peranakan Houses Joo Chiat
Are you a big fan of Crazy Rich Asian the movies? You might like this area in Singapore. Just take a bus from city center for about 40 minutes drive, then you won’t regret to get lost in Katong. It’s formerly knowns as a coconut plantation and used as a weekend getaway for some wealthy city dwellers. The plantations were long gone, but you can still admire the vibrant surroundings with its many Peranakan houses. There are also some famous restaurants and shops around. Grab your google maps to find where Joo Chiat Peranakan Houses located is from the bus stop. It is so easy to find. You can take as many picture as you wish, but remember that the peranakan houses are still inhabited by some local residents and just one or two of them are already abandoned, so we as tourists still have to respect them who still live in there.#singapore #joochiat #peranakanhouses #awesomepic #2023travelwish

Rainbow Colours Peranakan Houses 🌈
Located along 287 Joo Chiat Road, one would be able to notice rows of colourful yet eye catching peranakan houses. These houses holds a rich history of the peranakan culture in Singapore and they have the most intricate designs with lovely architecture.
It's not an everyday affair that we see such houses as they are becoming more and more rare. The stretch of peranakan houses at joo chiat road are of different colours and they look so pretty like a rainbow. It's amazing to see how well maintained these houses are and fascinating to know that there are people still staying in these houses. If you would like to take pictures of the beautiful peranakan houses, I would advise heading there in the day time with less traffic interrupting your photo taking. Marvel the beauty of these old houses, you will love it.

Joo Chiat Peranakan Houses
Take a peek into Peranakan culture as you take a stroll past these colourful shophouses in Joo Chiat.
Joo Chiat area is named after Chew Joo Chiat, a wealthy Chinese landowner in the early 20th century. Uniquely shaped by pre-war architecture, this area is distinctively known for the colourful two-storey shophouses and terrace houses with ornate facades, intricate motifs and ceramic tiles.
It is also very popular spot among local photographers, all wanting to capture a photo of the pastel shophouses. Come here to snap an Insta-worthy photo with these beautiful houses as your backdrop, but be sure to be respectful as there are people living inside!

Peranakan Shophouse
If you are looking for a change of environment from the busy urban Singapore scenes, you must check out Joo Chiat Road. Admire the old Peranakan architecture, the detail! Also take note of the vintage signs and mailboxes they still use. Take your time and explore the shops; you can find quirky little things and antiques, even dog spas. Check out the Peranakan shops / mini-museum as well, and get yourself a traditional piece as souvenir.
Peranakan architecture, shop front houses, street shopping, Baba museums and shops along East coast road. Peranakan house Museum though is only open to groups of 5 at $20 per head. Hence I couldn't visit the entire museum.

Things to do in Singapore 🇸🇬
I have been to Singapore the third time this year and everytime I discover something new and beautiful 😍
These colourful Peranakan houses are such beautiful architectures and the perfect fusion of Chinese, Malay, and European influences.
Be sure to dress in colourful clothing (don’t be like me 😅) and match the beautiful houses!!
Also since these are actually residential homes, please be mindful when you’re visiting and don’t be too loud!!

Peranakan Houses
#familytrips2024
Peranakan houses in Singapore are iconic for their vibrant facades, ornate wooden shutters, and intricate tile work. Found in areas like Katong and Joo Chiat, these shophouses blend Chinese, Malay, and European architectural elements. Typically narrow and deep, they feature five-foot ways, open courtyards, and pastel colors. These houses reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Peranakan, or Straits Chinese, community, embodying their unique blend of traditions and aesthetics.

Peranakan Houses
#singaporetrip History place about Peranakan. The house and the museum not connected. So, visit to see from outside only. Hope for more experience to see inside the peranakan houses
To visit here you can go to Eunos MRT St and continue your journey by walking around 1,5km. Not that far though. There's a church nearby, when you see it. That means you're close with the Peranakan House.
The Peranakan House is really eye catching so it's easy to find. It also colorful so this is a good place to be a photo spot when you visit Singapore.

Joo Chiat's Peranakan Houses
After having lunch at Old Airport Road, my friend and I decided to go around Joo Chiat and be tourists for the day. We started at the famous tourist spot in Joo Chiat, the Peranakan Houses. I have always wanted to visit the area for this but visiting means going out of my daily route so I never got the chance to do so. I didn't know that there are 2 rows of these houses facing each other. They all have different colors with ornate detailing. I love that the facades are still beautifully maintained. The weather was hot so there was not much people taking photos.
As it was very hot, we decided to stop by a cafe, and while on the way, we'll look out for some murals. Joo Chiat is also one of the places where murals are scattered. We were able to find some and took photos.
