A hidden gem discovered on our Komodo trip: Plataran Komodo!
Located in one of the most beautiful and pristine areas of Flores Island, Plataran Komodo Beach Resort is a hidden gem we discovered on our Komodo trip! The sea around the hotel is crystal clear, with no impurities. The hotel even has its own pier that leads directly to Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Plataran Komodo Beach Resort has only 18 villas, giving it a wild luxury hotel vibe. We stayed in the Ecotourism Sanctuary Residence, which has a very primitive and rustic style. The outdoor bathroom in the backyard is especially impressive, with a bathtub carved from a giant rock and surrounded by two trees. It's so cool!
In addition to a restaurant exclusively for guests, the hotel also has a restaurant called Atlantis On The Rock by Plataran that is open to the public. Watching the sunset here is absolutely stunning! The restaurant also has a long boardwalk, and the marine life under the bridge is amazing. Even if you don't go into the water, you can see starfish, sea urchins, various beautiful corals, and tropical fish just by standing on the bridge. Occasionally, you can even see turtles coming to eat seaweed. Plataran Komodo is truly beautiful!
