Tiga Island (Palau Tiga) is famous for its therapeutic volcanic mud, monitor lizards and two nearby uninhabited islands.
The island is located 15 minutes by sea from the city of Kuala Penh, which is 2 hours by bus from Kota Kinabalu city. Also, Tiga island can be reached in 1 hour by boat from Kinabalu. There is one Pulau Tiga Resort.
There are many trees in the island. Pulau Tiga is a part of a national park, so it is allowed to cut the trees. Most of Pulau Tiga is densely forested.
