If you’re looking for an escape to nature then consider going to Zhangjiajie! The picturesque mountain scenery is big enough to explore over a few days and a number of hotels can be found on the outskirts of the National park. Entry into the park is cheap and the airport is not far from the entrance. Inside the park there are a number of walking trails that you can take which vary in terms of ability. The Avatar Mountains!!!

Wuling Mountain National Forest Park also known as the Avatar mountains is located in Zhangjiajie, Hunan province. Highlights: The cable car up and down let's you get close up to these amazing mountain shapes and it feels like you're floating in the sky. You can also get on a small train to see the monkeys up close. The view from the top is stunning and reminds me of the scenes in Avatar. Note: there are lots of monkeys at the top so remember not to get too close. Great for photos though. Check out my pictures for an example. Hotel: We stayed at the Pullman near the Wulingyuan. The Pullman Hotel is located in Wulingyuan which is North of Zhangjiajie. It is a good starting point to the Zhangjiajie Scenic Area, known as Avatar mountain, too. The entrance can be reach c4om the hotel after a 15-20min walks. A folks show theatre is next to the hotel as well. The hotel has a large outdoor pool. It is highly recommended to have a foot massage in the hotel facilities as well after a hiking day

Superb Tour Service Without Extra Cost

I stayed at Pullman hotel here, great 5 star hotel, which is bit dated but upkeep, cleanliness is very good. Breakfast will be very crowded as expected when everyone wants to get to the mountain but turnover is fast. The best part is actually the inhouse tour agency, where they can helped you to purchase tickets at same price (no add on), and gave really good advice and tips on timing, routes to take, etc, ... For my 1st day, already pre-booked a tour guide for ZJJ nature park before I checked in, but would have save the $$$ if I had known this agency. so those of you thinking of coming to ZJJ, no need to headache, just stay at this hotel and get the agency's help. at least I still benefited for day 2 and 3, when I go to Grand Canyon, Tianmen Mountain.
