I want to ask everyone why no one travels to Cambodia anymore?
Just came back from Phnom Penh, it feels like there are so few tourists, far less than the plane full of Chinese tourists when I went to Siem Reap a few years ago.
Do you still have interest in Cambodia?
In fact, Phnom Penh is much more prosperous than I imagined, apart from the higher prices, it doesn't seem as chaotic as rumored. Here's a Citywalk route in the city for your reference:
👣Wat Phnom - Central Market - Royal Palace of Phnom Penh - Mekong River
Except for the Grand Palace, there are no admission fees, which is very suitable for tourists to stroll around.
1️⃣ Central Market
Originally a French church, it was later turned into a market. The interior dome is very distinctive, and they sell everything, but just looking is fine, no need to buy.
2️⃣ Wat Phnom
A typical Southeast Asian temple, right in the city center, close to everything, not very big, just for a leisurely walk. If you have been to Angkor Wat, you will find Wat Phnom too ordinary.
3️⃣ Royal Palace of Phnom Penh
Probably the most worthwhile place to visit in the Phnom Penh city area.
Admission is 10 US dollars (really expensive).
The open part is not much, but the architecture is still exquisite, and there are few tourists. Feeding pigeons at the entrance is also nice. Pay attention to the dress code; tops should have sleeves, and bottoms should be below the knee.
4️⃣ The Mekong River is very suitable for walking, and there are quite a few people running in the morning. Watching the sunset is nice.
🏨 Hotel: Rosewood Phnom Penh
I just found out that there is a Rosewood in Phnom Penh, located on the top floor inside the Vattanac Capital Tower, boasting all the high-altitude scenery of Phnom Penh, with the entire cityscape and the world-famous Mekong River in view. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to all major attractions.
☑️ It blends modern and traditional styles, with both old money vibe and artistic sense.
☑️ The dining options are rich and varied. I tried the Brasserie Louis restaurant on the 35th floor and the dazzling Chinese restaurant on B1 for everyone. I love the Hong Kong-style roast meats and pig's trotter noodles, saying it's the best Chinese food in Phnom Penh is not an overstatement.
☑️ You must go to the sky bar on the 37th floor for a drink! The cantilevered terrace is really amazing, with the sunset and city night view in full view.
☑️ The hotel has its own tuk-tuk, no need to be cheated by roadside tuk-tuks anymore.
PS: Be sure to negotiate the price before getting on a roadside tuk-tuk; I think the security is okay, but it's still better not to go out alone at night; take good care of your belongings, if you have a camera, try to hang it around your neck.

Raffles Hotel Le Royal Average price 1600-2200, the Royal Raffles Hotel in Phnom Penh, which opened in 1929, is nearly 100 years old~ The hotel was renovated in 2020. Its long history, elegant style, luxurious atmosphere, and unique aesthetic have made the Royal Raffles Hotel the leading luxury hotel in the Phnom Penh area for nearly a century! In the not-so-distant past and the foreseeable future, this hotel will always be one of the best in Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh, not just because of the many advantages mentioned earlier~ but also because it has a unique royal temperament that attracts a high-end clientele, mainly from Europe and America. This landmark building occupies an entire block next to the Phnom Penh railway station~ To maintain the necessary privacy, the hotel is a separate courtyard, with a very large flower bed at the entrance, very much in the Cambodian style. The entire suite's style is charming due to the mix of Khmer style, Art Deco, and French architectural style, which I think is also the most attractive part of this Raffles!
👍Highly recommended:
Rosewood Phnom Penh Average price 2100-3900, the hotel that opened in 2018, has impeccable hardware and software services! Located inside the Vattanac Capital Tower, Phnom Penh's tallest building, the Rosewood Phnom Penh offers corner suites with panoramic views of the cityscape and the world-famous Mekong River~ The room design incorporates Khmer architectural style, Cambodian traditional crafts, and elements from the French management period in every detail, while still maintaining Rosewood's consistent elegance and luxury. The hotel's art display section is also an indispensable part of Rosewood. Diptyque has invited numerous Cambodian and international artists to participate. Combining Khmer tradition with local Cambodian culture, they have created modern artworks~ This series of distinctively styled artworks located within the tallest building of the Kingdom of Cambodia not only inherits the craftsmanship of traditional handicrafts but also sparks modern technology. The iconic water buffalo in the guest rooms, created by American artist Daniel McClendon, symbolizes the hard work of Cambodian farmers and the roots of agriculture~ The Rosewood Phnom Penh, with its interior design and art design, perfectly integrates local history, culture, and geographical features~ It has become a must-stay hotel when visiting Phnom Penh!
👍Highly recommended:
Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh Average price 1100-1800, a new hotel that opened in 2021~ Everything is great! The Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh has an excellent location! Right opposite the hotel are the National Museum and the Royal Palace of Phnom Penh~ From the guest rooms, you can clearly see all this! It's only a two-minute walk to the Mekong River, and those famous riverside restaurants and bars are almost within reach! This Hyatt hotel combines a newly built high-rise with a very eye-catching historical building, and while preserving and restoring the old building on the original site, the newly constructed hotel completely breaks my traditional impression of the Hyatt brand~ The executive suite I stayed in has a modern-style work area, contemporary Khmer design elements, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking vibrant Phnom Penh, right across from the hotel's rooftop pool, offering a superb view! The public area of the Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh features a French-style atrium with a naturally lit roof, seamlessly blending Khmer architectural decor, French influence, and contemporary Cambodian artworks, making the Hyatt Regency a business hotel with a strong holiday vibe~ The rooftop restaurant and bar of the hotel are fantastic! Enjoying the sunset while sipping a cocktail, you can also see the night view of the Royal Palace of Phnom Penh and the modern city, which is really great!

The magnificent hotel in the tallest building in Phnom Penh - the Mekong Suite with amazing views!
After seven years, I came back to Phnom Penh and stayed at the magnificent Rosewood Hotel located in the Vattanac Capital Tower, the tallest building in Phnom Penh. I stayed in the Mekong Suite, which is located at the corner of the building and offers a panoramic view of the city and the world-famous Mekong River. The design of the room incorporates elements of Khmer architecture, Cambodian traditional craftsmanship, and the French colonial period, which can be seen in every detail. Overall, the hotel maintains its usual elegance and luxury.
The art display section of the hotel is also an indispensable part of the magnificent hotel. De Bayl invites many Cambodian and international artists to participate, combining Khmer traditions with local Cambodian culture to create modern artworks. This series of art pieces with different styles are located in the highest building of the Kingdom of Cambodia, inheriting the craftsmanship of traditional handicrafts and inspiring collisions of modern technology.
The iconic water buffalo in the guest room is created by American artist Daniel McClendon and symbolizes the hard work of Cambodian farmers and the roots of agriculture. The magnificent hotel in Phnom Penh perfectly blends local history, culture, and geography in both interior and art design, making it a must-stay hotel for visitors to Phnom Penh!

Who would have thought that such a good hotel would be in Phnom Penh.
The Rosewood Phnom Penh, as one of the luxury accommodation landmarks in the capital of Cambodia, is located in the bustling center of Phnom Penh, providing tourists with a luxurious and comfortable accommodation environment. My check-in experience was full of surprises and satisfaction from the moment I stepped into the hotel.
The design of the lobby is elegant and modern, and the high ceiling and spacious space create an open and comfortable atmosphere. The staff at the reception desk are very professional, and the check-in procedures are quick and orderly. I completed all the procedures without waiting.
I was arranged in a deluxe room, the elevator went directly to the room floor, the corridor was quiet and clean, and it was decorated with elegant artworks. Opening the door of the room, the first thing that catches the eye is the spacious space and neat layout. The interior decoration is simple and modern, with soft colors, equipped with high-speed wireless internet, large-screen TV and a fully equipped work area.
The bed is large and comfortable, the mattress is well supported, ensuring that I can have a good sleep experience. The bathroom also leaves a deep impression, with a shower room and an independent bathtub, and the quality of the bath products is excellent.
Breakfast is enjoyed in the hotel restaurant, offering a variety of food choices, including Western-style fried eggs, bacon, and Asian specialties such as porridge and steamed buns. The food is fresh and delicious. The restaurant staff always keep smiling and respond quickly to any requests.
In addition to the facilities in the room, the hotel also has leisure facilities such as a fitness center and an outdoor swimming pool. Although the fitness center is not large, it is equipped with a series of sports equipment. The swimming pool provides a good place to relax, and the pool area is also very clean.
The location of the hotel is a major advantage. Located in the center of Phnom Penh, there are many shopping centers and commercial districts nearby, which is very convenient for travelers who like shopping and exploring local life. At the same time, the hotel is only a short drive from major tourist attractions such as the Royal Palace and the market, making it easy and pleasant to visit the entire city.
The check-out process is also efficient and smooth. The staff asked about the accommodation experience and provided help for my subsequent itinerary. In general, the Rosewood Phnom Penh not only provides a place to stay, but also a kind of enjoyment and experience. Whether it is a business trip or a leisure vacation, it can become your luxury home in Phnom Penh.
In this check-in experience, the Rosewood Phnom Penh has demonstrated all the standards of a first-class luxury hotel: high-quality service, comfortable accommodation environment, convenient location, and meticulous guest care. Undoubtedly, this will be an unforgettable accommodation experience, and I will not hesitate to choose the Rosewood Phnom Penh when considering revisiting in the future.

One of Phnom Penh's treasure hotels: Warm, comfortable, and luxurious
Stepping into Phnom Penh, a city that blends ancient history with modern prosperity, there is always a place that allows one to forget the hustle and bustle, immersing in endless elegance and tranquility—that is the Rosewood Phnom Penh. As a brilliant gem under the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, it is not only a haven for rest but also an ideal starting point for exploring the depth and breadth of Cambodian culture.
First Impressions
Upon arriving at Phnom Penh International Airport, a meticulously arranged luxury car service took me directly to this hotel located in the heart of the city. Stepping through the hotel doors, I was immediately captivated by the unique blend of Southeast Asian charm and modern design. In the lobby, warm lighting spills over exquisite decorations, with every detail revealing extraordinary taste and craftsmanship. The front desk staff greeted me with warm smiles and professional service, and the meticulous care during the check-in process made me feel very comfortable.
Rooms: Luxurious Enjoyment
My room was located on a high floor of the hotel, offering a panoramic view of the bustling Phnom Penh cityscape and the picturesque Mekong River. The interior design of the room is simple yet luxurious, with soft color schemes and carefully selected furniture creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The oversized bed is covered with soft silk bedding, making it feel like a dream within reach. In the bathroom, a full set of high-end toiletries, a separate shower and bathtub, and a delicate massage showerhead allowed me to completely relax after a day's journey.
Cuisine: A Feast for the Taste Buds
The culinary experience at Rosewood Phnom Penh is equally unforgettable. Waking up with the first rays of morning sunlight, I enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel's buffet restaurant. Fresh fruits, exquisite pastries, and hot dishes from various countries pampered my taste buds with every bite. For dinner, I chose to try authentic Cambodian cuisine and international delicacies at the hotel's signature restaurant. The chefs skillfully blended tradition and innovation, making the dining experience feel like a cultural exploration.
Service: Meticulous Attention
Throughout my stay, the service team at Rosewood Phnom Penh left a deep impression on me. Whether it was the thoughtful and attentive room service, the detailed planning of the concierge for my itinerary, or the maintenance of every detail within the hotel, I felt the warmth and respect of home. Notably, the hotel's spa center provided an ultimate relaxation experience, where professional therapists combined traditional therapies with modern technology to help me relieve travel fatigue and rejuvenate.
Conclusion: Unforgettable
The time spent at Rosewood Phnom Penh felt like a journey through time and space, with profound insights into ancient culture and the ultimate enjoyment of modern luxury living. This place is not just a place to stay but a sanctuary for the soul and a source of inspiration. As I left, I carried with me a heart full of memories and reluctance, believing that in the days to come, this wonderful stay experience will become one of the unforgettable memories in my heart.
