Phnom Penh, Cambodia: A Symphony of History and Modernity.
Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, is a city full of historical charm and modern vitality. Located at the confluence of the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers, it not only carries the long history and culture of Cambodia, but also showcases the prosperity of a modern metropolis. This article will take you into this charming city and experience its unique charm.
Phnom Penh is an ancient city with a long history. Its name comes from the Khmer word "Phnom Penh", which means "Penh's Hill". It is said that in the 14th century, a woman named "Penh" found a Buddha statue on the banks of the Mekong River and built a temple on a small hill to worship it. The area gradually developed into a prosperous town, later named "Phnom Penh".
The Royal Palace of Phnom Penh is one of the city's iconic landmarks. It retains the architectural style of Angkor, the capital of Cambodia during its golden age in the 11th century. The Royal Palace is magnificent and has more than 20 palaces, including the Chanchaya Palace, the Golden Palace, and the Silver Palace. Among them, the Silver Palace is particularly magnificent. The floor is paved with more than 4,700 carved silver bricks, and the main hall houses a Buddha statue carved from a single piece of jade, a national treasure of Cambodia. Walking through the Royal Palace is like stepping back in time to the glory of the ancient Khmer dynasty.
In addition to the Royal Palace, Phnom Penh also preserves the evidence of the Khmer Rouge's dark rule. The S-21 Prison Museum (Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum) is a shocking place where tens of thousands of innocent lives were imprisoned and killed. Visiting here gives you a deep sense of the cruelty and ruthlessness of that period.
Despite its rich historical and cultural heritage, Phnom Penh is also a modern and vibrant city. With economic development, Phnom Penh has seen the emergence of many modern buildings and facilities, such as skyscrapers, shopping malls, and hotels. Phnom Penh International Airport (Pochentong International Airport), as Phnom Penh's main air hub, connects to many domestic and international cities, providing convenience for travelers.
On the streets of Phnom Penh, you can see various modern transportation options, such as tuk-tuks and motorcycle taxis. These transportation options are not only convenient and fast, but also provide tourists with a unique travel experience. In addition, Phnom Penh has many modern shopping malls and restaurants, offering tourists a wide range of shopping and dining options.
Phnom Penh not only has numerous historical sites and modern facilities, but also boasts rich tourism resources. Wat Phnom is one of Phnom Penh's landmarks. It is a green and lush area with a giant clock, making it a popular spot for tourists to pray and take photos. The Mekong River is a great place for leisure and strolling. Tourists can enjoy the beautiful river views and sunsets here.
Phnom Penh Night Market is also a must-see tourist attraction. It brings together a wide variety of goods and food, where tourists can taste authentic Cambodian snacks and buy local handicrafts. In the hustle and bustle of the night market, you can experience the unique charm and vitality of Phnom Penh.
Phnom Penh's food culture is also mouthwatering. It brings together authentic Khmer cuisine and modified Western delicacies. Khmer noodles are one of the local traditional dishes, made with rice noodles, curry fish, and vegetables. They offer a rich and diverse taste. Grilled chicken skewers and fried bananas are also Phnom Penh's specialties, attracting many tourists with their unique preparation methods and delicious taste.
In addition, Phnom Penh has many high-quality restaurants and cafes for tourists to choose from. Here, you can taste gourmet dishes from all over the world and enjoy aromatic coffee drinks, adding a touch of comfort and enjoyment to your trip.
Phnom Penh, Cambodia, is a city full of historical charm and modern vitality. It has a rich historical and cultural heritage and a modern urban landscape, providing tourists with abundant tourism resources and a unique food culture. Whether you want to explore the footsteps of history or enjoy the prosperity and convenience of a modern metropolis, Phnom Penh is a destination worth visiting.

The Royal Palace of Phnom Penh in Cambodia bears witness to the history of the Khmer Kingdom
The Royal Palace of Phnom Penh in Cambodia is a complex of buildings with golden roofs and yellow walls, including more than 20 palaces such as the Throne Hall, the Golden Palace, the Silver Palace, the Dance Hall, and the Treasure Hall. Here are some of the sights worth seeing inside the Grand Palace:
• Silver Palace: Also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the floor is paved with over 4,700 engraved silver tiles, and the main hall houses a Buddha statue carved from a single piece of jade, about 60 centimeters high, which is crystal clear and considered a national treasure of Cambodia.
• Golden Palace: Contains the Treasure Hall, where treasures are on display.
• Khemarin Palace: This is where the king receives foreign affairs and deals with court politics. Celebrations of national joy are usually held here, and it holds a very important status within the country.
• French-style Palace: Built by Napoleon III, it stands among a group of Khmer-style buildings without looking out of place, instead, it complements them interestingly and is full of charm.
• Corridor Murals: The murals in the corridors surrounding the Royal Palace were meticulously painted by 40 artists depicting Indian mythological stories.
• Antai Tree: Upon entering the main gate of the Royal Palace, one can see a tree that they have never seen before, which the guide introduces as the 'Antai Tree'.

The Royal Palace of Cambodia.
During my visit to the Royal Palace of Cambodia, I found myself in front of a cultural and historical landmark that forms the heart of the capital, Phnom Penh. I entered the palace and wandered through the luxurious corridors adorned with exquisite artistic details, and saw the official halls and galleries filled with many valuable art pieces and diplomatic gifts. I enjoyed the beauty of the gardens surrounding the palace, reflecting the traditional culture and art of Cambodia. Visiting the Royal Palace was a special and fascinating experience because it left me with a sense of luxury, history, and appreciation for Cambodia's cultural heritage.

Entrance fee included the Silver Pagoda. Be prepared to spend around an hour or so to visit the both. Dress sensibly with shirt covering the shoulders. There was a noon break when visits were not allowed. The Palace reopened at 2pm.
The Throne Hall is the main building of the Royal Palace built in 1863 and it’s still used for religious and royal ceremonies. Unfortunately, photos are not allowed.
One of the biggest tourist attractions in Phnom Penh, and it’s very popular!
It’s a huge site with many beautiful buildings to visit and view, and the gardens are manicured. The detail inside and outside the various buildings are stunning.
Remember to cover your shoulders and knees when visiting, even if you’re just visiting the gardens.
And no photography allowed inside.
Ticket price was a little high at $10 per person but it was a nice place to visit for the day. I would suggest adding this to your Phnom Penh itinerary. The silver pagoda area is the highlight in my opinion.
Masks are required to enter and you should also dress modestly with shorts below the knee and no shoulders showing. The palace closes in the middle of the day It’s open 08:00-11:00 and 14:00-1700 daily
Around the Palace ground, there are quite a few stunning architectures displaying the typical Cambodian rooftops and design.

The most revered image at the Phnom Penh Royal Palace is the Emerald Buddha, made of Baccarat crystal and dating back to the 17th century. Behind it, another Buddha statue was cast in 1906, using 90 kg of gold and decorated with 9,584 diamonds. Cabinets along the perimeter contain gifts presented to royalty and dignitaries. Along the inside of the recently restored 600-metre external wall is a colourful mural depicting scenes from the Reamker, the Khmer version of the Ramayana.

Go find the smile of Cambodia.
In the Spring Festival of 2020, I set foot on Cambodia with anxiety and unease. Cambodia, I never thought this country could be so cleansing to the soul. Its prosperity has faded away, sometimes even shabby, but it is said to be so sunny, simple, and full of hope.
Plane landed in Phnom Penh, mainly visiting two major scenic spots:
1. The Royal Palace in Phnom Penh: It is the palace of the King of Cambodia, consisting of a group of buildings with golden roofs and yellow surroundings, with exquisite design and magnificent appearance. The palaces are all pointed, representing prosperity. The main colors of the palace body are yellow and white, with yellow representing Buddhism and white representing Brahmanism. The Royal Palace of Cambodia is indeed magnificent, but there is a world of difference between inside and outside the palace walls.
2. The National Museum of Cambodia adopts the architectural style of Khmer ancient temple with hipped roofs and carved doors, which reminds me of the architecture of the Black Temple in Chiang Rai (they belong to the same school). It integrates Khmer traditional architecture with French colonial style. The museum introduces the history of Cambodia, mainly including the pre-Angkor period, Angkor period, and post-Angkor period. The exquisite carvings of the Angkor period are breathtaking. It also makes me look forward to the trip to Angkor Wat starting tomorrow.
Continuing to send to Siem Reap, Angkor Wat is divided into the Great and Small Angkor Wat. Simply put, the Great Angkor Wat is a city, while the Small Angkor Wat is a temple, also known as the Angkor Wat Temple. It is the pattern on the Cambodian national flag and the most exquisite part of Angkor Wat.
If we talk about the biggest feeling of going to Angkor, it should be the collision of time and space. Here, you can see the rise and fall of a dynasty, the call of a disappeared city sleeping underground for centuries. Angkor is a city of vicissitudes. At every stage of life, coming here will bring different feelings. On the first day, we visited the so-called small circle, mainly Banteay Srei, the palace and temple, and Ta Prohm... Rather than saying that Angkor is a scenic spot, it is more like a kind of sentiment. Many people say that they must go to Angkor Wat once in their lifetime. As for me, it finally lifted the veil of Khmer and let me touch the distant faith, feeling the tranquility and vicissitudes of the ruins. On the second day, we visited the outer circle, including the Queen's Palace, Beng Mealea, Bakheng Temple (the architecture of Angkor is exquisite, and the structural design is clever, making it easy to take beautiful photos). The last stop was Ta Prohm, the shooting location of "Tomb Raider". Quoting a passage from "In the Mood for Love" to end the trip to Angkor Wat: "If you can't forget it, it means you haven't buried the secret in your heart, so you must go to Angkor Wat. If you want to start a new life, you should bring her to Angkor Wat, sit on the high Angkor Wat together, watch the sunrise and sunset, experience the vicissitudes of life, and express your endless sentiment."
In Angkor, there is a natural tranquility and beauty, where every stone tells a story of the past. Being in the city, one's thoughts are endless, feeling their own ignorance and rudeness towards the weighty civilization. Here, some see the rise and fall, some see life and death, some are intoxicated by the scenery, and some gain enlightenment about life. However, Angkor remains silent, only smiling and watching the cycle of the world and the rising and setting of the sun and moon. A thousand years is but a moment.

French style city in Cambodia
Phnom Penh city is the capital of Kingdom of Cambodia.
A very interesting place where you see the mix between the old area with markets, ancient buildings, narrow lanes and shops, together with the a French styles architecture of the colonial area where are located government buildings.
The Royal Palace is a must place to visit.

The Entrance fee is $10 per person. It gives you a glimpse of Cambodian culture and heritage. The palaces are beautifully carved. Sadly you can't go inside, or take photos inside. But you are allowed to peek in the windows. When you walk around the outside of the building and take in the stunning architecture of the rooftops. They are quite a view. There are lots of nice miniature buildings here, so I do recommend exploring everything before you leave the place.

The Royal Palace is strategically located in the city center and next to the river promenade m. In feont of the palace there is a architecturally designed park which invites everybody to walk around and take a picture in front of the royal palace. Unfortunately the royal palace is closed temporarily but nevertheless you can walk around the palace and get a good impression on how big and beautiful the palace is. Furthermore there are a lot of restaurants and street vendors in the neighborhood. It is also recommended to walk along the river promenade

The Royal Palace of Cambodia 👑
I must say, you must not missed this when you are in Cambodia as it will give you a glimpse of how Royal families live in real life in comparison to what we read in fairytale books.
Other monarchies in the world are a bit strict when it comes to tourists coming in maybe for security purposes but it is great that Cambodia’s Palace is very welcoming to people.
We are grateful that we get to see their King’s royal residence and complex. 🤴
NOTE: Please read signages as there are portions that we are not allowed to come in. We must respect their rules and be responsible tourists.

Royal Palace Phnom Pehn
Still the dwelling place of the king, this palace contains the Silver Pagoda, whose floor is made up of 5329 silver tiles, each weighing 1.125 kilograms. Cambodia's Royal Palace complex was begun by King Norodom I (ruled 1860-1904) in 1886, when the capital was moved to Phnom Penh. Most buildings were completed before World War I, with involvement by French administrators and Thai designers and architects. French influence can be seen in the formal gardens which enhance the palace, and there are some European-style buildings on the grounds.

The Royal Palace of Cambodia
The Royal Palace of Cambodia is a complex of buildings which serves as the royal residence of the King of Cambodia. Its full name in Khmer is the Preah Barom Reacheaveang Chaktomuk Serey Mongkol. The Cambodian monarchs have occupied it since it was built in the 1860s, with a period of absence when the country came into turmoil during and after the reign of the Khmer Rouge. The palace was constructed between 1866 and 1870, after King Norodom relocated the royal capital from Oudong to Phnom Penh. It was built atop an old citadel called Banteay Keo. It faces approximately East and is situated at the Western bank of the cross division of the Tonle Sap River and the Mekong River called Chaktomuk. #aurora

Breath taking building design! The Royal Palace is convieniently located at the centre, making it very accessible to tourists. It is the home of the King of Cambodia. Surrounding gardens are very well maintained, very clean and really huge. You can enter on selected buildings to view the silver, gold, and other "treasures" of the royal family. A great place to learn more about the history of Cambodia.

When you come to Phnom Penh, the most not to be missed is the Royal Palace. The Royal Palace of Phnom Penh is located in Cambodia, just like the Forbidden City in China. It was built by King Norodom from 1866 to 1870. It is located in the east of Phnom Penh and faces the Four Arms Bay formed by the Mekong River, the Tonle River and the Basha River. It is a symbol of the rights of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The Palace of Phnom Penh is composed of a group of golden roofs and yellow walls. It is exquisitely shaped and magnificent, including more than 20 large and small palaces such as Chaya Hall, Golden Temple, Silver Temple, Dance Hall and Treasure Hall. The palace has spires, which represent prosperity. The temple is dominated by yellow and white. Yellow represents Buddhism and white represents Brahmanism.
On the cloister of the building is a magnificent relief mural depicting the Angkor Temple and the achievements and religious stories of the dynasties. However, because there is a royal residence in the north part, visitors cannot visit it. The silver temple in the south is available for visits. Although the city does not speak, the building reflects the history of the city with bricks and tiles.

The splendid Grand Palace in Phnom Penh is a stop to travel to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Although it is not as brilliant as the Grand Palace in Bangkok, it is also the most splendid history of Cambodia. Many important state diplomatic activities are held here. In the middle of it, recall the prosperous historical years.
The Royal Palace of Phnom Penh in Cambodia is a group of golden roofs and yellow wall-wrapped buildings, including more than 20 large and small palaces such as Zha Chaya Hall, Golden Temple, Silver Temple, Dance Hall, and Treasure Hall. The cloister is imitation of Angkor Temple. Emboss. Zeng Chaya Temple carved beam painting ridge, glazed tile roof, echoes with the glittering Polemorocott stupa on the left, the scenery is spectacular. There is a treasure hall in the Golden Temple, which is dedicated to displaying treasures. In all the buildings of the palace, the silver palace is the most gorgeous. When you enter the exhibition, you need to take off your shoes. The temple is enshrined with a statue of about 60 centimeters high and carved from a piece of emerald. It is crystal clear and valuable, and is an extremely precious national treasure of Cambodia. And here is the holy land of the kings of the past.

Funan, Zhenla, Khmer, and Cambodia have used these names to shine in the long river of Chinese history. The map of the heyday included the entire territory of Cambodia today, as well as most of the three countries of Thailand, Thailand and Vietnam, almost unified Southeast Asia.
In addition, Cambodia is available for aerial photography, and the Central Shopping Center looks like a brand of stickers~#

[Phnom Penh] One of the glimpses of the Grand Palace in Phnom Penh. I slept in the natural wake-up and missed the admission time in the morning. After a sudden walk in the sun in the sun, I went back to the hotel for a nap after a good meal. I wisely escaped the most sinister cockroaches and took a look at the big palace in the middle of the setting sun. .

Phnom Penh Palace, also known as the Four Arms Grand Palace, is located in the eastern part of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, facing the Mekong River, the Tonle River and the Basha River. It is a typical Khmer-style building. . The
Phnom Penh Palace is an attraction that must go to Phnom Penh. Although it is not luxurious, it is also dazzling, especially the green plants and flowers in the palace, reflecting the blue sky and golden architecture, which makes people pleasing. Compared with the Grand Palace in Bangkok, there are few people in the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh. Many places can be quietly visited, and you can take photos as much as you like. The

Buddhist temple Wat Phnom located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia is also the highest point in Phnom Penh. It is the tallest religious structure in the whole city. It is related to the origin of the name Phnom Penh. More than 600 years ago, a woman named "Bian" saw a big tree floating on the river. After pulling ashore, she found four bronze Buddha statues and a stone statue in the tree hole. She felt that this was a god-given gift. She added a mountain slope near her home and built a temple on it for worship. Under the blessing of the gods, the city developed here, and people named the city "Phnom Penh" according to the name of the temple and the woman. Then developed the Grand Palace of Cambodia, which is full of classical architecture, a golden yellow colored structure. It is also the place where the king of Cambodia lived when he was in the country, and met with major foreign leaders. I heard that the king was single. He stayed in China for a long time when he was young. He knew a woman, but his parents did not agree for this engagement. The two sides agreed that they won't get married. It is a really touching story.

The Royal Palace is the most popular attraction to visit in Phnom Penh. It embodies the essence of the architecture and art of the Khmer dynasty. The entire building is composed of yellow and white structures, yellow for Buddhism and white for Brahmanism. Part of the palace is open to the general public, and the part where the royal family lives, cannot be visited. There is a large lawn and plaza outside the palace. The flocks of white pigeons fly around and gives you a peaceful view. Ticket price: 6.5 US dollars approx., opening hours are: 8:00-11:30 and 14:00-17:00 during the day, address: between 184th Street and 240th Street on the Solo Prince Avenue in the Tonle Sap River in Phnom Penh City.
Note: It seems that the prices have increased from January 2017, and the specific ticket price is not clear. Entering the palace requires a full clothing like long sleeved tops, long skirt and pants that go below the knees. The camera cannot be taken inside the palace and taking photographs is prohibited.

The Grand Palace in Phnom Penh is located in the east of Phnom Penh, facing the Mekong River and the Tonle Sap River. Compared with the simplicity of the streets outside the Royal Palace, the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh is magnificent, and there are no bustling tourists like the Grand Palace in Bangkok. The yellow and white palaces are not beautiful, the green plants are hidden, the flowers are clustered, and there is a paradise. In addition to the private residences of the royal family, most of the buildings in the Royal Palace are open to tourists. The most luxurious is said to be the Silver Temple. The floor of the hall is made of 1 kilogram of multiple sterling silver, totaling more than 5,000 pieces. Its so stunned that you can think about the richness of Cambodia in that year. Tips: Tickets for the Grand Palace in Phnom Penh are 25,000 riels per person, almost 6 dollars. In the afternoon, it is necessary to open the door at two o'clock.

Cambodia, a constitutional monarchy, has a royal palace located right in the middle of the city center.
If the blue flag symbolizing the palace is flying in front of the palace, it means the king is present.
If you visit Cambodia, I highly recommend taking a tour of the royal palace near the airport for a day!
