Discover the most beautiful glass sea in Hong Kong!!! It's beautiful.
The glass sea in Hong Kong is so beautiful!! The sea water is as clear as jelly 🌊 The water is clear and the sand is fine. When I posted it on my Moments, everyone thought I went to Southeast Asia. Who would have thought that you don't need to go abroad to enjoy such high-quality sea water on a small island in Hong Kong 😭
Location: Sai Kung Outlying Islands
⛵ Travel: Depart from Sai Kung Pier and arrive in 15 minutes
There are more than 200 large and small islands in Hong Kong, and the islands are full of joy this summer 🧃🏖️🤿🚣🏻♀️🐟

Sai Kung's nostalgic old-style Western steakhouse.
Address - Shop on the ground floor, 76 Po Tung Road, Sai Kung
Environment/Facilities - Retro decor
Features - Romantic ambiance
Average Price - $100/person
Rating - 7.5/10
It was my first visit, and as I passed by the entrance, it felt like an old-fashioned steakhouse. They offer set lunches on weekends, with the average price being under $100 per person. The restaurant's interior is antique, likely with decades of history, and is well-maintained. The portions are very generous, including soup, bread, a main course, and a beverage; ladies might find it too much to finish. Overall, the service and food quality are above average, though it does show some signs of age.

Hong Kong's Leisurely Back Garden.
First, let's explain some history. The old Sai Kung Pier was overloaded and busy in the 1980s. To solve the problem, the Hong Kong government started the construction of the new Sai Kung Public Pier in 2007, which was completed in 2009 and is managed by the Marine Department.
The pier is mainly used for ferry services (small boats carrying passengers to and from various small islands) for embarking and disembarking passengers or a small amount of cargo. Along the coast, there are several ferry ticket counters, and visitors can also organize a group of 8 people for a private ferry tour around the Sai Kung coast.
Nearby, there is a bus terminal with routes to the city center or Pak Tam Chung, as well as to Lady MacLehose Holiday Village. There are convenience stores, supermarkets, various bakeries, restaurants, and pubs. Near the bus terminal, there is a Volcano Discovery Centre and public restrooms. Overall, the Sai Kung area is beautiful and vast, making it a great place to spend several weekends for outings.

Hong Kong Travel Guide | There's a crystal-clear sea in Hong Kong too!
🇭🇰 A friend told me that there are over two hundred islands in Hong Kong! With such abundant island resources, it's a no-brainer to set off in the summer heat~
This time, I'm sharing about an outlying island in Sai Kung - High Island Bay. The water here is clear and the sand is fine. Right by the shore, there's a wealth of corals and fish 🐟, and you can see the bottom when passing by on a boat!!! Exotic atmosphere and a sense of being on a deserted island are maxed out 👌
That's right, you don't need to go to Thailand or the Maldives, you can encounter the crystal-clear sea in 🇭🇰 Hong Kong. But you'll need to charter a boat to get there, departing from Sai Kung pier by speedboat~ It takes about 30min to reach the bay (along the way you'll pass through super beautiful waters, where you can see a lot of marine erosion landforms 🥺). Besides snorkeling 🤿, boat parties, and swimming, you can also hike here (but it's a wild trail with some difficulty). The famous Hap Mun Bay is on this island

Fabulous Day to explore Hong Kong’s ocean 🌊
Hong Kong really made me feel joyful! It was such a good day to spend some spare time with my friends to explore the ocean. The weather on that day was perfect for surfing and I and my friend decided to play wake surf. Wake surf is a water sport that a person riding behind the boat.
For me, it was an unforgettable memory and was my first time to do the wake surf. I tried lots of times to stand up and at the end I am able to stand for 3minutes!
Highly recommend this water sport ! #blog

CHARMING seaside Town 😍 Sai Kung Day Trip ❤️🇭🇰
#visithongkong
If you're looking for a fun day trip in Hong Kong, Sai Kung should be at the top of your list!
Sai Kung is a charming seaside town, and it has something for everyone! It has activities ranging from hiking trails with stunning views to dining at delicious seafood restaurants and popping around quaint shops.
You can spend the morning exploring the town's bustling markets and colorful streets, then head out on a boat tour to explore the beautiful islands and hidden coves that dot the coastline.
After working up an appetite, indulge in some of the freshest seafood you'll ever taste at one of the many waterfront restaurants. Don't forget to snap some photos of the gorgeous scenery along the way!
Sai Kung is one of the my favorite day trip options. ❤️

Saigon relaxed and fresh pet-friendly cafe 🐾
I love taking my furry friend 🐶 to Sai Kung on weekends, where he can walk by the sea and I can leisurely enjoy a brunch or tea 🫖 at a cafe.
There's a new cafe on Sai Kung Main Street with a minimalist wooden decor and a lush green outdoor seating area. Their menu mainly features light meals such as all-day breakfast, pasta 🍝, bagels 🥯, sandwiches 🥪, and more.
I ordered the smoked salmon fruit salad 🥗 and the crispy fruit yogurt 🍇🍊, both of which were refreshing and delicious. The salad was rich in ingredients and fresh, with grapes, cucumbers, dragon fruit, cherry tomatoes, and more. The yogurt was beautifully presented, with a sweet and sour taste that whetted my appetite, and came with two pieces of crispy toast.
I also tried the matcha latte and lime soda, both of which were rich and smooth, with a slightly bitter taste.

🇭🇰A great hiking spot for Hong Kong border crossing | Bai Shui Wan 🌊🪨⛰️ Starting from Sai Kung Pier ⛵️, the difficulty is not high, and the whole journey can be completed in just over an hour. It is suitable for those who want to take a walk without feeling too tired and sore the next day.
Crossing through the jungle and arriving at the seaside is truly healing 🥰🥰.

Cozy Coffee in Sai Kung - cozy indeed
With its openness and airy atmosphere, Cozy Coffee is a cafe you cannot miss when you’re in the neighborhood.
The deco is like a quiet library accented with the aroma of coffee. You can sit at the open counter looking outside for people watching, or sit in the zen-style inside.
A variety of coffee is available, hand drip, handcrafted, specialty like Affogato etc
Sweets and bakery items here are delightful too!

Hong Kong Foodie - Sai Kung - The Cabin
The Cabin has been around for years but hasn’t got the attention like the other eateries in Sai Kung, though it’s just across the road from the famous local dessert shop “Honey Moon” 滿記.
Expect very high quality food in this small bistro - we started with a special soup, roasted sweet peppers blended in cream, warming and delicious. For mains one of us chose lamb shank, tenderly braised in a savoury red wine sauce, the other is roasted pork belly, with crispy skin it was a delicacy.
We both chose to add a little sub charge to our mains ($88) to make it a set so soup/salad, dessert and drink will be included. For dessert the pear cooked in red wine was light and pleasantly sweet.
Do expect to have a long meal here -
they prepare their food freshly after order so usually a 3-course dinner takes around 2 hours!

Sai Kung honestly feels like a vacation in your own city.
Sai Kung is dubbed the 'back garden of Hong Kong', known for its fishing villages, beautiful scenery, hiking trails, beaches and islands, geological formations and low-key lifestyle.
How to get there
There is no MTR or rail to Sai Kung. If you want to visit, you’d have to take the bus or minibus. There are three major points to do it:
Take the MTR to Choi Hung and then change to minibus 1A or bus 92
From Diamond Hill, you can also take bus 92, as it is the end station
From Hang Hau take the minibus 101M
From Mong Kok take the red minibus
I can’t wait for 2023 summer!!!

Spend a chill day in Sai Kung!
How to get there📍: Take the MTR 🚇(metro) to Choi Hung station on the green line, then either take 28M bus 🚌 or 1A minibus 🚐 to Sai Kung Pier. Taxi 🚕 or drive 🚗 is also ok but please beware in July-August the traffic is particularly heavy during peak hours as everyone is trying to get to the beach and there is only one road
Popular activities 🤟🏼:
🏝️ island hopping: you will see many boat companies’ posters and booths at the pier offering you itineraries to visit multiple islands
🦞 🦐 🦀 seafood meal: the fresh seafood and the delicious Chinese way to cook seafood makes this a must-try experience - there are plenty of seafood restaurants by the pier
🏄🏻♂️🏊🚣♂️ water sports: the calm and beautiful sea and the safe waters make diving, surfing, kayaking, rowing and just swimming popular activities there
🎣 fishing: you can rent a small fishing boat at the pier with the captain to go somewhere suitable for fishing- what you have fished you can pay a bit of handling to the restaurant for them to cook them for you immediately
🚶♂️🚶🏻♀️trail walking: there are beautiful mountains, landscapes and trails in the area

Brunch time by the sea!
Turtle by the Sea is located at Waterfront Park, 1 Wai Man Road, Sai Kung. They have restaurant and bar on one side and cafe at the other. The restaurant has a direct view to the Sai Kung sea where you can enjoy the salty and cool wind from the sea and fill your stomach before your adventure started.
Food order:
Soft shell crab croissant with melted cheddar cheese
Huevos Roncheros
Combo mini puff to satisfy my sweet tooth
The food are good, but I think what makes people keep coming back is the vibe and the environment of the cafe. Definitely worth a visit if you are near the area.

escape from the crowded @saikung Hong Kong
Winter is already here but don’t forget about the summer time in Hong Kong. Sai Kong is a place in Hong Kong that with all the beautiful beaches around. You can take a 30 minutes minibus from Mong Kok to Sai Kung. In Sai Kung, you can experience a totally different face of Hong Kong. You can start the day with having a brunch here, by the sea. Then take a ship to visit all the islands. (the more you pay, the less people beaches you can reach) I chose to take a 30 minute ship and that’s the beach with very little people.
See you next year, my favourite beach in Hong Kong!

Nice hiking in Wong Shek pier
What can we do in Wong Shek pier?
We can try the tree walk trail, the family walk trail, or have a barbecue with friends or camping. I love this trail. No worries about taking this trail in the daytime when the sun is burning, and trees are covering us from the sun. Even though covered by trees, we still can enjoy the sea view. Some sailing boat ⛵️⛵️ roaming around makes the surrounding more lively.
To get to Wong Shek Pier, take bus number 94 from Sai Kung, or 96R from Diamond Hill. Please note that bus number 96R operates during weekends and holidays only.

Convenient Cafe with a view
Turtle by the Sea is split into two parts- a restaurant and bar on one side and a cafe on the other. I came to the cafe for an afternoon coffee on my way to meet friends in Sai Kung.
I chose the outer part and ordered caramel coffee and strawberry cream puff. The drink and snack were perfect for an afternoon full of breeze and a nice view. There are also pizza, pasta, salad, sandwich, and a long list of drinks that are suitable to grab before continuing the trip to the islands in Sai Kung area.
Address:
Waterfront Park, 1 Wai Man Road Saikung (opposite Sai Kung ferry Pier no.1,2,3,4,5,6).

Super Fresh Seafood Galore at the Pier
Hung Kee Seafood Restaurant is a spacious restaurant by the Sai Kung Pier. It is a two-storey restaurant, but the best spot is outside the ground floor, where you can feel the breeze while eating. The live fishes, lobster, clamshell, etc. next to the restaurant door are fantastic.
The restaurant offers super fresh seafood at reasonable prices. I am a seafood lover, and I enjoy eating lobster cooked with creamy noodles and crab with a strong taste of ginger, shrimps, and steamboat fish. All taste super yummy to me. It was a pleasant experience with the seafood galore of this restaurant. I came here for dinner with friends. We were eight, but we ordered a dinner set for six people. It turns out we almost could not finish the dishes. I can’t ask for more but recommend this place for the seafood lover.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Average price per person: HK$.150-HK$.250

Looking at Hap Mun from a high level
Hap Mun is on the list of the most favorite beaches in Hong Kong. It is known for its crystal clear water and fine sand.
Usually crowded during the weekend and holidays, so try to come earlier if you want the best spot.
Hap Mun has facilities like a toilet, shower, changing room, a kiosk where we can rent or buy kinds of stuff for swimming, snacks, and drinks, and a barbeque area. Standby lifeguard and shark net make us feel safe to play in the water. It will be so much fun if we can camp there, have a barbeque at night and enjoy the beach in the morning. But I don't know whether it is allowed or not.
When it is too crowded, you can try the other side of the beach however, it is rocky, you better put on sandshoes. It has no lifeguard and shark net as well.
The last time we went there, we tried the hiking track. In summer time it's burning 😎, but it's worth it when we can see such a beautiful panorama lying before us. Make sure to bring enough water.
How to get there:
Take ferry from Sai Kung pier

Hiking with a magical view 🤩
Isn’t it magical? Contrast combination between light brown 🟤 soil with blue cyan water💧. It looks unreal, like a painting 🎨, but it is real.
You can enjoy this magical panoramic while hiking from the Sai Wan pavilion to the small hilltop. We took this trail several times yet can’t just pass through. Seems like, It's drawing you to stop for a minute or more ⏰. I can never let my eyes 👁👁miss this view.
Another thing, many kinds of wildflowers 🌺🌸along the way. It was June when we went there and I made a stop several times just to capture 📸 their beauty.
This trail is considered easy. After reaching the small hilltop, the path will be a bit steep going down to the beach. On the way 🚶♀️🚶♂️to the beach 🏖, there's an organic field, paddy🌾, fruit 🍉🍋and vegetables 🌽🍆🍅, you may buy some of them if you come during harvesting time.
How to get there:
~ by taxi 🚕from Sai Kung; or
~ take a special bus 🚌(village bus NR29) from Chan Man Street (in front of Mc. Donalds)
~ travel time is about 30 mins to get to Sai Wan Pavilion and another 30 mins hiking to get to the Sai Wan beach 🏖.
You may consider putting on sunglasses 🕶, and a hat 🧢, and bring enough water 🥤, especially during summertime 🌞.

Sweet and cold treats after a day under the sun
Little Cove Espresso, located at Siu Yat Building, Sai Kung Hoi Pong Square, Sai Kung, is a place to go for anyone who want to find some shades after walking around the Sai Kung pier the whole afternoon.
They offer Mediterranean diets, coffees and other beverages to choose. We ordered mango smoothie, spirulina bowl and French toast, and the price definitely worth the taste.
You can smell mango when you drink the mango smoothie, and you can see the cafe try to give you as much as they can as they fill the glass to the point of almost spilling out.
Spirulina bowl is a smoothie made from banana, honey, coconut milk, and spirulina (I assume from the smell of banana and the green colour) topped with buckwheat granola, coconut, and strawberries.
French toast is warm and soft, and each bite give you the taste of honey without soaking the bread too much.
What is great is that all the food doesn’t taste too sweet but also not too plain. And the cafe also claim they don’t use sugar in the cooking process, which make it much better.
They have indoor and outdoor seatings for you to choose.
Many people still come to the cafe even during weekday afternoon so be prepared to wait for some time before you are seated

Po Kwu Wan 曝罟灣 Adventure
It’s a hidden bay of Sai Kung, next to Sheung Yiu Trail and close to high island reservoir. It’s special with its half moon shape concrete embankment.
Starting point located in Sai Kung Country Park, follow the signs to Pak Tam Chung Nature Trail(北潭涌自然教育徑)/ Sheung Yiu Family Walk (上窯家樂徑), passing a beautiful lake-like creeks heading to Sheung Yiu Folk Museum and the swamp with mangroves.
First stop would be Hei Tsz Wan (起子灣)pier. From there, we spontaneously took an adventure trip, coasteering to the direction of Po Kwu Wan. It’s actually pretty straightforward, just walk along the coastline.
We started early on Sunday morning, bump into a handful of people at Po Kwu Wan and few groups at Yuen Ng Fan view point, only a couple of fishermen while coasteering and non when hiking out to Man Yee Road.
Distance: approx 6km
Difficulty: Easy Intermediate
Duration: approx 3.5 hours
How to get there:
- Take bus 94 heading to Wong Shek Pier from Sai Kung; Get off at Sheung Yiu Bus Stop
- If you’re driving and want to be as close to the starting point as possible, go early and you may find a spot at Sai Kung Country Park Visitor Centre
- Or you could park at the metres car parks along Tai Mong Zai Road and hop on to taxi or bus 94
