Hohhot Mini Guide, you can come for the National Day!
🎈Before coming, the weather forecast for three consecutive days of rain made me a bit discouraged. But I think since I'm here, let's just go with the flow. Luckily, the weather was super good for the three days I was here! I saw the beautiful scenery of Hongshiyao as if I had booked the whole place, the blue sky and sunset like Hayao Miyazaki, and the camera could not capture the beauty of the actual scenery.
🎈Transportation: The places to go in the city are not too far away, usually choose to travel by online car, the drivers are very friendly. I also tried riding a shared electric bike, which is very convenient.
🎈Accommodation: I chose a hotel opposite Kuan Alley, the location is very good, close to Dazhao Temple, Saishang Old Street and Islamic Style Street, highly recommended!
🎈Play:
Day 1: During the day, mainly visited Dazhao Temple and Inner Mongolia Museum, and went to the lively Saishang Old Street at night. There are all kinds of snacks and antiques on the old street, you can stroll around.
Dazhao Temple: The ticket is 35 yuan, really very beautiful. I was always shocked by its beautiful scenery, no matter how you take pictures, it looks good. At the same time, I also saw many people wearing ethnic costumes taking pictures here.
Museum: If you go to the museum, pay attention to some time in advance, because at five o'clock they start to remind you to close. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to see all the exhibitions, which is a bit regrettable. The ancient fossils and ethnic relics inside are very worth seeing, highly recommended!
Day 2: We went to Hongshiyao! It's really too beautiful! I took pictures until my phone ran out of power. Some of the photos were so great that they really captured some unforgettable moments in my life.
The road to Hongshiyao is also very beautiful, the weather was very good that day, the clouds also have a special sense of animation, it is hard to describe one in ten thousand of it with words. Although the grassland is a bit yellow, it does not affect the beautiful scenery.
If you go to Hongshiyao, be sure to prepare a thicker coat! We brought leather jackets and storm jackets with the liner removed. After five o'clock it was so cold that I was shivering, the wind in the wilderness was too wild!
Around six-thirty the sun began to set, very spectacular! Please note the time, and remember to bring a warm coat! Wear a hat to protect your head! Don't be like us, going back to the hotel with a headache and wanting to vomit.
Food: Before we came, we planned to eat four or five meals a day, but in fact we only ate two meals a day. The meat and dairy products are really delicious, but sometimes we eat too much.
These two days we tried grilled lamb chops, lamb offal and scrambled eggs with sand onions, all very delicious, just the portion is a bit too much! After eating at noon, I still feel full at night.
The second day we went to Eerduosi, the fat of the lamb is very rich, the taste is very fragrant, but also very full! We can't finish the set meal for two.
As for snacks, we tried thin fruit soup, milk skin roll and beef tongue buns. The former is sweeter, people who like sweets will like it. The milk flavor of the milk skin roll is very strong, a little bit is okay, otherwise it will feel greasy. Beef tongue buns are very fragrant, and they are very filling when eaten.
In terms of specialty products, we went to the dairy shop to buy some beef jerky and dairy products. We also bought some fresh lamb at Shada.

Dazhao Wuliang Temple|Experience 500 years of 'Temple Culture'
Dazhao Temple is a large Tibetan Buddhist temple in the southern part of Yuyuan District, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China, belonging to the Gelug sect. The 'Zhao' in Dazhao Temple means temple in Tibetan. The original Chinese name was 'Hongci Temple', which was later changed to 'Wuliang Temple'. Because there is a silver Buddha enshrined in the temple, it is also called 'Silver Buddha Temple'.
Dazhao Temple is the earliest built Yellow Sect temple in Hohhot and has a wide influence in the Mongolian region. It was founded by Altan Khan, the leader of the Tumote tribe in the Ming Dynasty. Built in 1580 AD, it is the earliest Lamaist temple built in Hohhot and one of the few temples in Mongolia that does not have a living Buddha. Dazhao is not only a Buddhist holy land, but also a famous tourist attraction at home and abroad. The magnificent temple architecture, precious cultural relics and artworks, as well as the mysterious Cham dance and Buddhist music, constitute the unique 'Temple Culture' of Dazhao.
🎫Ticket: 35r/person, children 17r/person.
Address: Dazhao Qian Street, Yuyuan District, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The structure of the Jokhang Temple is a bit like the Forbidden City, divided into the central line, east line and west line. Be sure to look at the scenic map carefully and don't miss the palaces on both sides.
Tour Tips:
1⃣️Be sure to look at the scenic map carefully and don't miss the palaces on both sides.
2⃣️There are many photo studios near Dazhao Temple, where you can rent clothes and take a set of beautiful ethnic portraits, which is great!
3⃣️When you come out of Dazhao Temple, it is the old street on the border, but there are few shops open and few people in winter~
