Samgwangsa Temple, where tens of thousands of lotus lanterns shine.
Tens of thousands of shining lotus lanterns embroider the night like stars at the Samgwangsa Temple Lantern Festival ✨
Samgwangsa is one of the three major temples in Busan, along with Beomeosa and Haedong Yonggungsa, and is very large with a congregation of about 300,000.
It is widely known as the largest lantern festival in the country because of the numerous lanterns, reaching about 40,000, that are hung all over this large temple.
Its splendor has also earned it a spot on CNN's '50 Beautiful Places to Visit in Korea' list.
The temple is a dazzling place filled with lanterns overhead, and in addition to the basic lanterns, you can see various lanterns such as large dragons, lotus flowers, elephants, and even moving lanterns.
The sight of the spacious Samgwangsa Temple and the colorful lanterns filling the space between is truly spectacular.
It's a must-visit place during the lantern festival period!

Samgwangsa Temple Lantern Festival 2023
#fallingseason
I was going to pass this year, but I went on a date with my mom at Samgwangsa Lotus Lantern Festival in Busan, so I'll introduce it to you as a famous night view tour. The lighting period is just around the corner! It's okay if you remember it and visit next year, and the atmosphere will be a little different, but I think it's good to take some time this weekend and go out to the temple around your residence for a while. It's about 5.6km from home and 15 minutes away when there's no traffic, but it's not easy to get there. The two-lane access road and parking lot are narrow, so when you come near the Buddha's birthday, you have to stand an hour or two in front of 500m nearby.

The Samgwangsa Temple in Busan lights up lotus lanterns on Buddha's birthday until dawn. Over 40,000 lotus lanterns stand on the outskirts of Baegyangsan Mountain.
It's a remarkable festival that lights up the darkness in the world through the wisdom of Buddha.
Climb up the stairs lit up by a tunnel of lotus lanterns to get away from reality and delve into a fantasy world. Light created by the numerous lanterns dazzles the eyes. Reach the summit on the back of the Samgwangsa Temple to enjoy the magnificent view of lotus lanterns. It feels like the dark mind full of worries have been lit up.
