🚗Attraction Transportation:
You can directly navigate to Menghuan Silver Pagoda. There are parking spaces on both sides of the mountain road near the destination, and there is a large parking lot at the end of the navigation.
Public transportation is not recommended as there is a lot of walking involved.
👍️Must-visit Attractions: Recommended spots for taking good photos of the Silver Pagoda
Moon Platform⭐⭐⭐Moon prop.
Glass Platform⭐⭐⭐⭐One of the best spots for photos, usually crowded, best to go in the late afternoon.
Corridor on the right side of the Silver Pagoda⭐⭐Flowers as foreground.
Slope leading to the Silver Pagoda⭐Many people like to take photos of the Golden Pagoda from here, but personally, I think it's average and not as good as entering the Golden Pagoda.
🎟️Ticket Information: 40/person
💗Other Tips:
Note that although the Golden Pagoda and the Silver Pagoda are on the same mountain range and very close, they are managed separately with different tickets.
From a photographer's perspective, I prefer the Golden Pagoda at dusk and the Silver Pagoda during the day (the Golden Pagoda guide is in another note).
The Silver Pagoda is more suitable for taking photos of people, so you can wear beautiful artistic clothes for the shoot.

Dehong Travel | It's a real loss if you don't come here!
⚱️When traveling to Dehong, the Menghuan Golden Pagoda and Menghuan Silver Pagoda are a must-visit. The two towers stand on the Leiyarang Mountain on the edge of Mang City, reflecting each other, and from a distance, they look like the lively eyes of Mang City.
📍Location: At the top of Leiyarang Mountain by the Peacock Lake in Mang City
🎫Ticket: Both the Golden Pagoda and Silver Pagoda are 40r
🗼The Menghuan Golden Pagoda legend says that 'Sakyamuni' lived here when he was reincarnated as a golden rooster in his lifetime. The entire pagoda is magnificent, and it's very photogenic just taking pictures at the entrance. Inside, there are many precious items of Buddhism, which are worth seeing.
🦚In addition to the pagoda, the Peacock Dance is also very exciting. This is a folk dance where people wear peacock tails and imitate its dance. It's very lifelike and eye-catching. The peacock's spreading wings and drinking from the spring, the dance is rich in sculpture, each with different beauty and artistic conception.
🌙 The Silver Pagoda is hand-carved by craftsmen using Dai silver and other materials. It is a display of Dai architectural art and a heritage of local minority culture. To see the Silver Pagoda, you must first go to the top of the mountain. The sky and the big moon are really good for taking pictures. Everyone is lining up, and it's not too late to take pictures in the square later. Here, you can eat some ethnic snacks, look at the sea of flowers and the cityscape of Mang City, and find a place for your soul.
🗼Walk around the pagoda three times, pray for good luck, meditate quietly with the Sanskrit sounds coming from the Golden Pagoda, and give your weary body and mind a break from the mundane world. Or enjoy a sunset at the Menghuan Silver Pagoda surrounded by the fragrance of flowers, and watch the pagoda change into different colors and artistic conceptions.

Mangshi is full of characteristics and mystery - (Silver Pagoda Chapter).
The Silver Pagoda is next to the Golden Pagoda
Compared with the Golden Pagoda, the Silver Pagoda is much larger and has many more places to visit.
🎫Ticket is RMB40
It is recommended to go early as there will be more and more people.
If you want to take pictures of "Mirror in the Sky", you have to get there early... but everyone will queue up.
It was inconvenient for us to take the baby with us, so we didn’t take any pictures.
The Silver Pagoda is still worth visiting.

Mangshi·Menghuan Silver Pagoda—A Silver Dream World
On the second day in Mangshi, we arrived early at the Menghuan Silver Pagoda, one of the three pagodas in Mangshi.
After arriving in Mangshi, the silhouette of the Silver Pagoda seemed to follow us everywhere. Walking through the streets of Mangshi, we would often inadvertently look up and see the pristine Silver Pagoda atop the mountain.
The Silver Pagoda is situated on the peak of a mountain on the eastern side of Mangshi. The mountain is not very high, and you can drive up to it. The parking lot is very convenient, and you arrive at the entrance of the Silver Pagoda scenic area as soon as you get out of the car.
The entrance fee for the Silver Pagoda is 40 yuan, which I think is reasonable considering the significant investment likely made in developing the entire scenic area.
The Silver Pagoda scenic area centers around the Silver Pagoda and is a Buddhist cultural park filled with elements of Theravada Buddhism. The uniform silver-white color gives a very pure and elegant feeling, and combined with the lush green plants, it is truly beautiful. Unfortunately, the weather was not good that day. If it had been accompanied by a backdrop of blue sky and white clouds, the scenery would have been perfect.
Climbing up the mountain along the boardwalk, the main body of the Silver Pagoda comes into view. The pagoda stands 66 meters tall, solemn and majestic. The architecture is exquisite, the design is ingenious, and the magnificent pagoda body, together with the surrounding sculptures and vegetation, forms a perfect Buddhist holy land.
Next to the Silver Pagoda, there is also a viewing platform where you can get a panoramic view of Mangshi. Unfortunately, the air quality was poor that day, which somewhat diminished the experience.
On the way back, you can walk down along the sightseeing car road. Midway, there is a viewing platform where you can see the last of the three pagodas in Mangshi—the Golden Pagoda, which is also our next destination.

Border Town - Mangshi, Yunnan
🌴Treasure Town Mangshi, it's really amazing🌴
In Dai language, Mangshi is called 'Menghuan', which means 'City of Dawn'✨. This place is full of exotic charm, with coconut trees 🌴 lining the streets, making you feel like you're in Southeast Asia.
📸Must-visit attractions:
👉Menghuan Golden Pagoda: It is the first hollow Buddha pagoda in Asia, entirely golden and extremely dazzling. It is a landmark building in Mangshi, and it shines even more brilliantly under the sun. Any random shot is super impressive🤩.
👉Menghuan Silver Pagoda: The pure white silver pagoda symbolizes pure love, friendship, and family affection💕. There is a sky mirror here, with many beautiful spots where you can take panoramic photos of the golden pagoda opposite. It is also an excellent place to view the night scene and sunset🌇.
👉Dai Ancient Town: Although it is an artificial attraction, it is full of Dai ethnic style when lit up at night. If you catch a Dai dance performance, it feels like a time travel moment🎇.
👉Tree-wrapped Pagoda: A very peculiar sight, a large banyan tree wrapping around a pagoda, located in the middle of an open parking lot. You can stop by if you are passing through🤗.
👉Unity Avenue: The road is lined with coconut trees, yellow taxis, and groups of electric scooters passing by, full of Southeast Asian vibes. You can even take photos of airplanes✈.
👉New Play Factory: The 'Mangshi' graffiti wall, 'We Love Mangshi So Much', and other popular photo spots are all here🎨. There is also a lively night market in the evening.
🍱Food Recommendations:
🥘Dream Dehong: Top of the local food list🥇, a classic Dai flavor restaurant. You must try the hand-grabbed rice and Paoluda😋.
🍜Bad Road Breakfast: You have to get up early to eat breakfast here. Big bowls of rice noodles with lots of beef and various self-service spices to add, the taste is absolutely amazing👍.
🥗Best Food City: Egg pancakes, Burmese chicken rice, avocado juice, various flavors of pickled chicken feet, Paoluda, and more🤩.
🦀Seven Shrimp Shop: Originally went for the 'Ruili Live Crabs', but ended up being a fan of the stir-fried beef with sour bamboo shoots. A must-try for snail noodle lovers😍.
☕Coffee: Ahe Coffee feels like being in a forest, with a Chiang Mai jungle vibe; Menshi Coffee is suitable for street photography; Meizi Coffee allows you to count airplanes in a small ruined building; Under the Tree Coffee is full of surprises and cost-effective.
🚗Transportation:
You can fly directly to Dehong Mangshi Airport or transfer from Kunming✈.
🎈Travel Tips:
Mangshi is not big, and all attractions are within the starting fare range. You can visit all in one day, but it is highly recommended to stay for two more days. Wake up naturally every day, go downstairs for a bowl of rice noodles, and then leisurely visit various attractions. When tired, find a coffee shop to sit and enjoy the slow time here😘.
From April 13 to April 15 is the Dai Water Splashing Festival, and the whole city will be very lively🎉. Also, Ruili and Tengchong, which are within a 2-hour drive from Mangshi, can be arranged for a visit together🤗.

The Main Pagoda Zone is the core attraction. The main pagoda is 66 meters tall, surrounded by 80 smaller pagodas, each topped with exquisite silver ornaments.

I thought Xishuangbanna was beautiful enough! Until I went to Mangshi
Every holiday, it's always crowded with people
After leaving Xishuangbanna, I chose to go to
the unpopular border town—Mangshi
It really didn't disappoint me, there were very few people, and it was very photogenic

To visit this dreamy silver pagoda, I specifically took a trip to Mang City
🌟 Attraction Introduction:
Located in Mang City of Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, the Menghuan Silver Pagoda is a dazzling jewel of Dai culture. This largest silver pagoda in Asia stuns with its glittering silver appearance and exquisite craftsmanship. The body of the pagoda is inlaid with countless gems, which shimmer under the sunlight, presenting a spectacle of beauty. Inside the pagoda, precious Buddhist relics are enshrined, and every inch of space is permeated with a strong religious atmosphere and ethnic charm, allowing you to deeply experience the faith and historical heritage of the Dai people while admiring the magnificent architecture.
📍 Itinerary Suggestion:
It is recommended that you arrive at the Menghuan Silver Pagoda in the morning, first visit the main pagoda and the surrounding Buddhist halls under the guidance of a tour guide to understand its profound cultural connotations (about 2 hours). In the afternoon, you can stroll in the gardens under the pagoda, enjoy the Dai-style garden landscape and various tropical plants, and experience the tranquil and far-reaching Zen life (1 hour). In the evening, the silver pagoda appears even more solemn and mysterious under the sunset, so why not wait for the sunset here and capture that incomparable moment of light and shadow (1 hour).
🍲 Food Recommendation:
Don't forget to taste the authentic Dai cuisine after your visit. There are several well-reputed Dai restaurants nearby, such as 'Dai Yun Flavor' and 'Green Leaf Banquet', with specialty dishes like sour bamboo shoot fish, pineapple rice, etc., each dish is full of the unique sour, spicy, and fresh flavors of Dai cuisine, sure to make your taste buds dance in the world of Dai food.
🚗 Transportation Tips:
Departing from the downtown area of Mang City, you can take a bus directly to the Menghuan Silver Pagoda scenic area, which takes about 30 minutes; if driving, travel along the South Ring Road of Mang City and turn right at the entrance of Menghuan Avenue, and you will arrive in about 15 minutes.
Travel Tips: Please respect local customs and habits, dress appropriately, remove shoes when entering temples, and keep quiet. Bring a camera to record the emotions and surprises that this holy land of Dai culture brings to you.
A trip to the Menghuan Silver Pagoda is not only a visual feast but also a deep interpretation of Dai culture. You can not only enjoy high-quality services but also enrich your life experience and collect wonderful memories through this journey. We look forward to you finding your own unique travel story here!

I thought Xishuangbanna was already beautiful, until I came to Mang City! | May Day travel guide
If you're looking for a city with few people, beautiful scenery, a slow pace, and plenty of delicious food to spend the winter, then come to Mang City. Compared to the crowded and commercialized Xishuangbanna, Mang City is really worth the rush!
Mang City is not busy, and a citywalk measured by your own feet is just too suitable for Mang City.
Here is a specific citywalk route, which can be copied directly, and basically all the fun places in Mang City are included.
Mang City was formerly known as 'Menghuan', which means 'City of Dawn' in Dai language, as it is said that when the Buddha arrived in Mang City, it was just dawn, and what he saw was the dawn, which also represents hope and devotion.
⛱️ How to play:
➡️ Tuanjie Street, Baobo Road, Bodhi Street: All are very suitable for casual strolling.
➡️ Shubao Tower: A tower in a tree, and a tree in a tower.
➡️ Menghuan Big Golden Pagoda: The landmark of Mang City is none other than this, it is China's first golden Buddha pagoda, and also Asia's first hollow Buddha pagoda. Recommended to go at sunset.
➡️ Menghuan Silver Pagoda: Right opposite the golden pagoda, very close, just a few hundred meters walk away. If the golden pagoda is the sun of Mang City, the silver pagoda is the moon. The two look at each other, guarding this small city together. I went to the silver pagoda first, bought a ticket for 40 yuan per person, and climbed the mountain to see the silver pagoda and the golden pagoda looking at each other from a distance, very beautiful.
➡️ Bodhi Temple: Combines Han and Dai architectural styles.
➡️ Mengbana Xi Rare Garden: There are many free-roaming peacocks, and it's very pleasant to stroll in the woods.
➡️ Three Trees Style Street: A very leisurely street, with two rows of beautiful palm trees.
➡️ Dai Ethnic Ancient Town: I don't really recommend it personally, it's a kind of man-made ancient town, if you want to visit the night market, you can go to see the night view, not many people during the day.
🍭 How to eat:
➡️ Mang Apricot Yanxing Barbecue: Highly recommended. The whole village of Mang Apricot is barbecue, and it is the most surprising existence of this trip, the barbecue is simply too delicious, you must eat the grilled fish, and it's super cheap!
➡️ Rotten Road Breakfast: Many people recommended it so I went, the taste is average, I didn't find it particularly delicious, but it's also not bad.
➡️ Dreamy Dehong: If you want to try Mang City specialties in one restaurant, you can come here, Sapie is a must-order here, but I'm not used to it.
➡️ Best Taste Food: There are also many classic snacks from Mang City here, Gan Ying chicken feet are highly recommended, I think the Shaibababa made by the carts on Bingwu Road is better than here.
➡️ Lei Ya Rang Sunset Coffee: Very recommended, the scenery is very good, very comfortable.
The Traveling Gourmet
The Menghuan Silver Pagoda is pure and elegant
Upon arriving in Mang City, Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan, the Menghuan Golden Pagoda and Silver Pagoda are the iconic buildings here, filled with a rich ethnic character.
Just a few hundred meters away from the Golden Pagoda is the Menghuan Silver Pagoda scenic area. The entire area is based in white, dressed in silver, sacred and solemn.
The Menghuan Silver Pagoda, also known as the Pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas, covers an area of about 120 acres, with a height of 66 meters and a diameter of 46 meters. The pagoda body has four levels, the first level consisting of 12 smaller pagodas, symbolizing the twelve links of dependent origination in samsara.
The scenic area includes well-arranged facilities such as the Jiyuan Forest, Silver Wheel Plaza, Observation Deck, and Pedestrian Walkways. The landscape sculptures are exquisitely elegant, in a variety of postures, displaying the unique charm of Dai culture everywhere.
It has also become a famous hotspot for social media check-ins, with many young men and women dressed in Dai and Thai-style clothing taking photos here. I wanted to take a picture of the 'Mirror of the Sky,' but unfortunately, it didn't turn out well.
Standing outside the Silver Pagoda and looking at the Golden Pagoda from a distance, one gold and one silver, they echo each other; one is gracefully luxurious, and the other is pure and elegant, forming the most dazzling and unique beautiful scenery in Mang City.

I regret not going to the remote small town of Mangshi in Yunnan earlier
Just back from Mangshi: A guide to avoid tourist traps for an average of 400 RMB for two days and one night, if you're planning a trip to Mangshi soon, save this 💯
✅ I want to share this border town with everyone. If your trip is focused on food, you must visit this town named with a single character 【Mangshi】. It's an obscure, fun, and delicious frontier town. 🙀🙀 The rice noodles you pass by hand, the night market in the evening, and the random small shops you find on the street, all offer incredibly tasty food at very affordable prices.
🚗 Transportation: We drove from Dali for a 4-hour road trip. It's fun and convenient for two people or a group to choose self-driving. Alternatively, you can fly ✈️ as there is no direct high-speed train to Mangshi from Kunming. You have to take a bus from Kunming to Baoshan, then from Baoshan to Mangshi by coach.
🛵 City transportation: Mangshi is quite small, so I don't recommend renting a car. You can scan for an electric scooter when you leave the hotel, stop wherever you want to take photos, which is very convenient.
🏨 Accommodation: There's not much to visit in Mangshi, it's mainly about eating and experiencing the local culture and atmosphere. Staying one night is enough. Choose a hotel near Peacock Lake for a full-on holiday vibe.
👀 Attractions:
🔹 Menghuan Silver Pagoda and Golden Pagoda, the two pagodas are close to each other, and the Silver Pagoda is more photogenic than the Golden Pagoda, especially under the sunshine on a clear day, it shines brilliantly. I don't recommend going inside the Golden Pagoda, as the photo effect is not much different from the outside.
🔹 Dai Minority Ancient Town (free) is a commercial ancient town, mainly for taking photos and checking in after the lights are on at night, which is quite photogenic.
🔹 Menghuan Street: Many girls who come to Mangshi will definitely take photos of the coconut tree-lined street (personally, I think the scenery is beautiful enough, after all, there are too many vehicles coming and going on the road, and it's not very safe to take photos on the highway).
🥘 Food:
🔹 Best Food City: The avocado juice with Gan Ying soaked chicken feet is really good, and you can casually stroll and eat.
🔹 Mengbana Xi Food City: You must go here for barbecue at night (the barbecue at Luo Ji's Secret Recipe Meat Skewers is simply yyds). Other barbecues are said to be very good by friends, choose a place with more people to eat, you can't go wrong, because Mangshi is simply a late-night snack paradise, every place tastes great.
🔹 Hongli Comprehensive Market is really big, we only visited the fruit area, and bought some snacks nearby.
🔹 Plum Coffee
🔹 Menghuan Ice Cool: A local favorite snack shop, the pounded pigskin is too delicious, very chewy.
🔹 Qi Zhi Xia Pu: Five-star recommendation! The spicy frog is super tender, the shrimp is very fresh, they even help peel it, and the ice pineapple is also delicious.
🌈 The attractions in Mangshi can only be described as few but exquisite. The Golden Pagoda and Silver Pagoda are must-visits. If you have time, leisurely stroll around Peacock Lake, the scenery and air are truly yyds. Experience the slow life in this frontier town with Southeast Asian charm, ride an electric scooter, enjoy the snacks, and let yourself slow down.

Menghuan Great Silver Pagoda | Landmark of Mang City, experience the Southeast Asian vibe without leaving the country
Menghuan Great Silver Pagoda, one of the landmarks of Mang City, is a newly built Theravada Buddhist stupa with a silver-white base, shining brightly. Without leaving the country, you can also enjoy the Southeast Asian atmosphere.
The main pagoda of the Great Silver Pagoda was built in 2010, with a height of 66 meters and a diameter of 46 meters. The body of the pagoda is composed of 80 smaller pagodas, with the first layer consisting of 12 small pagodas, symbolizing the twelve links of dependent origination. The decorations on the pagoda body and the platform spire are all hand-carved by craftsmen using materials such as Dai silver and Du silver, with each spire and each piece of decoration embodying the exquisite skills and devout faith of the Dai artisans.
In the areas where the Dai people live, the Great Silver Pagoda is known as the building with the most numbers and the richest types, and it is also the inheritance of the local ethnic minority culture. The main attractions include the Entrance to the Great Thousand Worlds, Handprint Good Affinity Area, Enlightenment Square, Silver Wheel Square, and Silver Pagoda Flower Language area. Here, whether you are walking through the pagodas with hands clasped or sitting quietly on the corridor, your heart will find a sense of peace.
🌈Highlights:
✅Mirror of the Sky: On the west side of the silver pagoda, there is a special spot where the blue sky and the silver pagoda create a stunning reflection, just like the 'Mirror of the Sky'.
✅Above the Moon: Next to the Mirror of the Sky, there is a crescent moon where you can sit or lie down on the 'moon', with the Menghuan Great Silver Pagoda in the background.
✅Sign Language Area: In the traditional culture of the Dai people, 'hand gestures' are used to convey meanings. There are 24 hand gestures here, each representing a different meaning. You can imitate them to take many popular photos.
🎫Ticket: 40 yuan, online price 38 yuan
🚗Transportation: Take bus routes 13, 1, and 3 temporary combined line, or drive or take a taxi
❤️Tips: 1️⃣If you want to capture the sky scene, it's best to come in the afternoon to avoid the effects of backlighting; 2️⃣It is recommended to wear brightly colored clothes to contrast with the silver pagoda, avoid wearing white, otherwise, you will blend in with the pagoda background; 3️⃣Beautiful ladies can rent a set of Dai ethnic clothing for more beautiful photos.

Menghun Silver Pagoda.
The Silver Pagoda in Menghun, Mang City, Yunnan, is one of the iconic buildings of Mang City👍. It shimmers with silver light📸, pure and elegant, and has a strong sense of rhythm💕. Standing under the pagoda and looking up, it feels like a silver pyramid soaring into the sky📸. From the top of the mountain, you can also clearly see the opposite Menghun Golden Pagoda, the scenery is extremely beautiful📸. There are many carvings in the scenic area📸, which showcase the delicacy of Dai culture💕🌹👍. It's really worth spending time here, renting ethnic minority costumes for a travel photoshoot📸. Since there are many people taking travel photos, you have to queue up, so it's best to avoid peak times.

🌈 Friends, the Menghuan Golden Pagoda and Menghuan Silver Pagoda in Mang City are like the twin stars of the city's soul, each shining with its own unique light.
💛 Golden Pagoda: Glittering with gold, it is majestic and seems like a brilliant pearl between heaven and earth. Its unique shape is full of ethnic charm, showcasing the glorious history and splendid culture of Mang City. Standing under the Golden Pagoda, one can almost hear the echoes of history and feel the weight and solemnity of the city.
💙 Silver Pagoda: Shimmering with silver, it is serene and elegant. Compared to the Golden Pagoda, the Silver Pagoda is more understated and restrained. But it is equally filled with a sense of artistry, with every detail carefully crafted, displaying the wisdom and ingenuity of the people of Mang City. Standing under the Silver Pagoda, one can almost feel a refreshing stream flowing from the depths of the heart, bringing a sense of tranquility and delight.
🏰 Under these two pagodas, time seems to freeze, and the soul finds a moment of peace and reflection. Let us slow down and quietly appreciate their beauty, and feel the charm and artistic atmosphere of Mang City. 💖

Mangshi in Yunnan made me feel as if I had taken a trip to Thailand
Mangshi in Yunnan is home to both golden and silver pagodas, as well as many snacks that are unique to Southeast Asia. For instance, there's mango salad, a variety of delicious sweet and sour dishes, and the beautiful traditional attire of Dai minority women.
Visiting here can be particularly relaxing. The Dai people are also very hospitable, and there aren't too many tourists, so you can stroll around at ease. Personally, I find that the golden pagoda is more photogenic during the day, while the silver pagoda shines more at night. Moreover, this place is quite elevated, and climbing up allows one to overlook the entire city and enjoy an entire afternoon.
ADELAIDE BEARD
I embarked on a journey of exotic charm in Mang City
1. The Mang City Golden Pagoda (Menghuan Big Golden Pagoda) is open until 10 pm, with an admission fee of 40 yuan. The pagoda is located on a mountain (you can ride a small electric scooter to the foot of the mountain, then walk 1 kilometer uphill). It can also be seen from some places at the foot of the mountain. I went there at night, and the close-up view at night is very beautiful. The inside of the pagoda is hollow, housing a large Buddhist hall. There is also an observation deck in the scenic area where you can see the cityscape. The estimated visiting time is about 30 minutes.
2. The Mang City Silver Pagoda (Menghuan Silver Pagoda) is very close to the Golden Pagoda, with an admission fee of 40 yuan. I visited during the day, and after entering, you have to climb a bit to get there. You cannot enter the Silver Pagoda, but you can see the Golden Pagoda while climbing the Silver Pagoda. If you don't want to go inside the Golden Pagoda, visiting the Silver Pagoda is also an option. Climbing the Silver Pagoda takes about 1 hour of visiting time.
3. Peacock Lake is very close to the foot of the Golden and Silver Pagoda mountains and is a local walking trail for exercise. It's a nice place to take a leisurely stroll if you have the time.
4. Bodhi Temple is accessible by a small electric scooter in the city, and it also houses a Buddhist hall. It's a nice spot to visit while wandering around the city, and there was no admission fee when I entered.
5. The Dai Minority Ancient Town is a commercial pedestrian street with an ethnic minority style. Going there in the evening to browse the night market, eat from a hot pot, and take a walk is a good choice.
6. Shubao Pagoda is a distinctive pagoda located in the city. The pagoda is inside a tree, and you can reach it by taking a walk during the day.
7. Mengbana Xi Rare Garden has an admission fee of 40 yuan. Inside, there are mostly bamboo forests to see, and the main attraction is to learn about some of the local precious timbers (silicified wood). The visit is quite enjoyable. There are also many peacocks raised inside, and you can get close to them (when I visited, the male peacocks were frantically displaying their feathers, which was very beautiful). The visiting time inside is about 1.5 hours.
8. Peacock Valley Forest Park is 15 kilometers away from the city by car. I drove there myself. The admission fee plus shuttle bus is 98 yuan per person, with a package ticket of 138 yuan (including all the chargeable attractions inside and the shuttle bus). If you don't buy the package ticket, some attractions inside require an additional fee: jungle leap is 20 yuan, glass tower is 10 yuan, and glass walkway is 30 yuan (you can bargain during the off-season). The Peacock Garden and Hundred Birds Garden do not require extra money. There are fixed-time peacock flying performances, and I watched the 12:30 show. There are also other animals to see, and a highlight is seeing the white peacocks. You can take close-up photos with the peacocks in the Peacock Garden. The visiting time is about 2-3 hours.

Yunnan has a very small city, which is also a one-character city in China
Every year in February and March, with the arrival of the rapeseed flower season, tourists from all over the country and even overseas flock here to enjoy the flowers and the scenery, experiencing the world's largest rapeseed flower sea and the most beautiful spring. However, for Yunnan Province, besides having unique natural landscapes and interesting customs and traditions, its cities also have their own characteristics. Among them, there is a very small city in Yunnan, which is also a rare one-character city in China. Curious friends might ask, what is this city? And what different landscapes does it have? With these questions and curiosity, today let's talk about Mangshi. Mangshi, called 'Menghuan' in Dai language, is the capital of Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. Mangshi is located in the western part of Yunnan Province, in the southeastern part of Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture. Mangshi has been inhabited by humans since the middle and late Neolithic period.

Successfully followed the trend to Mangshi for reverse tourism!
This Spring Festival came to Mangshi for reverse tourism
It's really the most successful trend-following time🥹
The Southeast Asian style of this border town is simply 💯
It's too suitable for dawdling, sunbathing and visiting temples!!
1️⃣Menghuan Gold Tower/Menghuan Silver Tower
If you like to take photos, I recommend the Silver Tower more, you can overlook the two big towers from the top, very Southeast Asian, the Silver Tower is very photogenic!
🌅It's best to go around 10 o'clock in the morning or around 6 o'clock in the afternoon, it won't be very hot and the sunlight is also soft~
2️⃣Tree Wrapped Tower
🌳The first sight is super shocking!! The big tree wraps around the tower body and grows, but the tower only has cracks but does not break, sitting under the tree to rest is very calming.
3️⃣Hongli Comprehensive Market
🥭I really became a fruit expert in Mangshi! This vegetable market is very regular, there are also fair scales and so on, the variety of fruits is rich and super sweet!
4️⃣Unity Street
🌴You can see the plane flying low! Both sides are full of coconut trees! It has the taste of a Southeast Asian tropical small town.
5️⃣Tea Bran Shampoo
💆You must must experience!! With shoulder and neck massage, it's very cheap! During the Spring Festival, those popular stores either closed or were full, so I randomly chose one across the market, all are Burmese little sisters who press very comfortably✌️

Spring Festival Travel Recommendation|This dreamy silver tower is too photogenic
|This dreamy silver tower is too photogenic. If you want to experience Southeast Asian style without going abroad, please come to Xishuangbanna. If you think Xishuangbanna is expensive and pursue cost-effectiveness, then you must come to Mangshi. Among them, what I look forward to most in Mangshi is Menghuan Silver Tower, the photos are too beautiful, no wonder many people come to take portraits, put on a Dai costume, and it's a Southeast Asian style.
🏠Basic Information
👑Name: Menghuan Silver Tower
🚕Transportation: There is a certain distance from the city of Mangshi, it is recommended to drive or rent a car to go there, the parking space on site is limited, and you need to arrive early on large holidays
📍Address: No. 58, Xianchi Road, Mangshi, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province
💰Ticket: 38 yuan/person
⏰Business hours: 8:30—21:30
👣Play time: half a day
🍭Best shooting time: 12:00—16:00
🦌Practical tips:
🌹Menghuan Silver Tower is the first choice for taking portraits in Mangshi, so when there are many people at the silver tower mirror shooting position, you need to queue up. You can choose to find a photo studio for makeup and photography, or you can buy clothes and makeup like me, and take pictures by yourself. During the waiting period, you can observe the actions and perspectives guided by the photographer;
🌹In addition to the mirror position, the Buddha's hand at the entrance is also very photogenic. Standing at the second Buddha's hand position, the staggered shooting is also very photogenic; passing through the silver tower and going inside, you can see the entire silver tower, the elephant position is also very good for taking pictures, or you can choose to take close-up shots of the silver tower;
🌹The silver tower at night is also worth a look, you can see the night view of Mangshi, the silver tower has lights, if you bring equipment, night shooting is also very photogenic when there are fewer people.
🌹The golden tower is next to the silver tower, you can go and see if you are interested, different styles, it looks better at night;
🌹The cost of living in Mangshi is really much lower than that of Xishuangbanna. My clothes were bought in Xishuangbanna, but I found that they only cost 2/3 of the price at the entrance of the silver tower. If you want to take your own pictures, you can buy them at the entrance and you can bargain.

Menghuan Silver Pagoda
It's a bit far from the city center, it's recommended to take a taxi, there's a section of mountain road, quite rugged. It's right across from the Golden Pagoda. After entering the scenic spot, you can choose to walk up to the topmost silver pagoda or take the scenic area tour bus, round trip 10 yuan per person. If you're with elderly people, it's recommended to take the bus. There are many tourists at the mirror place where you can take pictures of the reflection of the silver pagoda, it's a pity that the weather was not very good when I went. When I was going down the mountain, I saw a viewing platform where you can take pictures of the Golden Pagoda on the opposite side.
DYLAN NASH
Mangshi is vibrant with its Silver Tower, it's very beautiful and suitable for taking large-scale portraits
Tourist play guide: The ticket price for the Silver Tower is slightly more expensive than the Golden Tower, I remember it seems to be 50 yuan. The cool color scheme is suitable for taking photos in the morning and evening, while the Golden Tower across the street is more suitable for the evening. If you have plenty of time, come on two different days because the two towers offer different views for watching the sunset. Of course, if you don't have enough time, one day is completely enough, with the Silver Tower during the day and the Golden Tower in the evening. Price: The Silver Tower is more expensive than the Golden Tower. The Silver Tower doesn't have the history that the Golden Tower does, it's completely man-made later, and even the entrance across from the Golden Tower might give you a very irregular feeling, but it doesn't prevent it from being suitable for taking photos, yes, for outputting photos.
Queue: No need to queue
Facilities: Although there are people maintaining it, you can only view it from a distance and take in the grand view.
Transportation: The most convenient way is to call a car, anyway, it's very close to the city, you can also ride a bike, to prevent it from being difficult to call a car at night (add a few yuan and you can actually call one)
BEAU SALAZAR
Mangshi is not busy, we flew to Mangshi especially for this tower!
Why did I choose to come to Mangshi, Yunnan in the first place? It was completely because I saw a reflection photo of a large silver tower on the Internet. I am a quite spontaneous person, so I decided to go and see it. Indeed, the effect of my own shooting is quite stunning.
Only after I arrived did I realize that Mangshi is the only city in China with a single character name. It is full of Southeast Asian style, so why not put Mangshi on your travel list sometime.
About Yunnan Mangshi Transportation
1 Plane: Mangshi has an airport, Dehong Airport, check before you go to see if your city has direct flights to Mangshi or transfers to Mangshi.
2 Train + Bus: There is no direct train to Mangshi, take a high-speed train from Kunming to Baoshan City, and take a bus to Mangshi at the bus station near Baoshan Station, about 2 hours.
3 It is very convenient to take a taxi in Mangshi, and it is more convenient to ride a shared bicycle! Once you get off at Dehong Airport, you will have a tropical style.
Mangshi landmarks: Menghuan Silver Tower, Golden Tower
When you go to Mangshi, don't care what others say, whether it's worth it or not. The Golden Tower and the Silver Tower are definitely places to go. You can see these two landmarks on the plane.
Menghuan Silver Tower
The silver tower and the golden tower are next to each other, a 5-minute walk. We entered the park in the afternoon, and there were not too many people. The area is much larger than the golden tower, and there are many places to shoot. The popular photos are naturally the moon chair and mirror platform under the silver tower. Fortunately, everyone queues up in a very orderly manner, so it's easier to get the photos. Looking at the photos on the Internet, the night view of the silver tower is also very beautiful. Sisters with time can come in the evening to shoot the sunset and night view.
The road from the Golden Tower to the Silver Tower, there is a row of shops renting Dai costumes, makeup and travel photography at the entrance. The basic prices are similar, if you are interested, you can rent a set to take pictures, indeed it's worth it.
Menghuan Golden Tower
Some people feel that there is no need to spend money to enter the Golden Tower, although it is said that if you don't see it, you will miss the opportunity, and if you see it, just experience it once! I quickly walked around and went out to find food.
The tickets for the Golden Tower and the Silver Tower are 40 each, and you can buy them online or directly at the door.

Mangshi| A severely underestimated tourist spot
|A severely underestimated tourist spot. Take advice! In any corner of Mangshi, you can take super beautiful pictures of the big golden pagoda!|||Before going to Mangshi, I did a lot of strategy, many friends said after going to Mangshi, there is no need to spend money to go to the big golden pagoda.
👌Okay! I take advice!
But as a photographer, how can I miss this shining landmark of Mangshi--Menghuan Big Golden Pagoda
📷Photo guide:
⏰Shooting time:
It is recommended to shoot the big golden pagoda in Mangshi in the afternoon, when the sun shines on the golden pagoda, the color is more eye-catching.
When night falls, the lights of the golden pagoda become the brightest place in the whole city.
🔭Lens selection:
A telephoto lens is needed for shooting from a distance, and a wide-angle lens is used for shooting under the tower.
📷Share of shooting position:
1⃣️The big golden pagoda that can be seen everywhere in Mangshi. (Pictures 1-3)
The gold and silver pagodas of Mangshi are built on the two mountain tops of Lei Yarang Mountain, looking at each other. Because the golden pagoda is large in volume and covers a large area, it is independent of the mountain top and there are no other buildings, so it can be seen in many places in Mangshi city.
2⃣️You can take a photo with the big golden pagoda without entering the door. (Pictures 4-6)
If you want to take a photo with the golden pagoda, it is difficult to find a suitable angle under the tower. Standing under the tower can only take a part of the golden pagoda, so you need to stand at a farther position to make the picture more coordinated. Standing at the entrance of the commercial street can take a panoramic view of the entire golden pagoda.
3⃣️The steps of the big golden pagoda are also super out of the picture. (Pictures 7-10)
There is a long staircase leading to the big golden pagoda, which is also very out of the picture. There are various mythical beasts and Buddha statues on the stairs.
4⃣️Looking at the golden pagoda from a distance from the silver pagoda. (Pictures 11-12)
The golden pagoda and the silver pagoda are less than one kilometer apart, so you can look at the golden pagoda from the silver pagoda. Standing on the hillside of the silver pagoda, you can take a picture of the golden pagoda with a medium telephoto lens.
🏠Menghuan Big Golden Pagoda, the pagoda is 76 meters high, the first floor of the golden pagoda hall covers an area of 2000 square meters, it is the first golden Buddha pagoda in China, and the first hollow Buddha pagoda in Asia.
📖Legend: Sakyamuni once reincarnated as a golden chicken Aruan, who crowed here every day, calling for light. In Dai language, Mangshi is also called Menghuan, which means the city of dawn.

Winter warmth | Going to Mangshi is worth it, the dreamy silver tower is too good to take pictures~
| Going to Mangshi is worth it, the dreamy silver tower is too good to take pictures~.🎈 Speaking of good places to check in in Dehong Mangshi, besides the golden tower, there is the silver tower that is slightly far away from it. The entrance distance between the two towers is about 10 minutes' walk.
👏 They are both towers, but they give people different feelings. The golden tower shows its brilliance, while the silver tower exudes a holy and elegant temperament, attracting many friends who love it to take pictures and check in here.
😊 The silver tower is a newly built Buddhist pagoda, also known as the Pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas, and there is a slightly distant name of 84,000 pagodas.
👉 The Silver Tower Scenic Area requires climbing, the journey is not very far, it is still recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
📍 At every corner of the climbing journey, viewing platforms are set up, where you can see the well-arranged layout at the bottom of the Silver Tower Scenic Area and the top of the golden tower opposite.
☀️ When we reached the top of the mountain, it was about a quarter past five. Under the refraction of the sun, the silver tower was emitting a silver light, and at a glance, it was already conquered by its beauty.
🌇 There are several suitable 📷 photo check-in positions for the Silver Tower:
1⃣ Glass mirror surface (two mirrors, can take pictures of the mirror of the sky)
2⃣ Internet celebrity moon
❗️ These two check-in points are popular and need to queue up when there are many people.
3⃣ Front of the silver tower
4⃣ Elephant sculpture
5⃣ Monet Garden
6⃣ Grassland behind the silver tower
7⃣ Viewing platform next to it (can take pictures of the silver tower, and can also overlook the panoramic view of Dehong)
💴 Tickets: 40 at the scenic spot, 38 online
🚗 Transportation: Taxi or self-driving
