Museum day at Shanghai Astronomy Museum
The best museum for holiday or weekend in Shanghai is “Shanghai Astronomy Museum” There is a metro station near this museum, namely “Dishuihu lake” It is quite convenient. This is a new Astronomy museum so inside it is so modern and so great. There is a big round roof movie that it is so impressive.

Shanghai Astronomy Museum 🌎
Shanghai Astronomy Museum is relatively new so expect big crowd everyday. The museum focuses on science, cosmology, astronomy, astrophysics and space exploration. It is a good plan for the CNY break if you are around in Shanghai. You can reach the museum by subway on line 16 until the last stop DiShui Lake and then walk from there for around 12, min #tigeryear2022 #shanghaiastronomymuseum

Shanghai’s new planetarium
Had the opportunity yesterday to visit the Shanghai’s new Astronomy 🔭 🪐 Museum. An indescribable experience. Three hours are not enough to see all the amazing halls and exhibitions. From ancient history and the beginning of astronomy, to current designs and space exploration.
Most exhibitions are interactive, everything has English explanations so you can read and understand in detail, not like most museums in China. There’s also a coffee shop inside the museum, where you can eat or buy asteroid ☄️ chocolates (last pic). Such a wonderful time you should not miss!
📍Location: Lingang area, take Line 16 to Dishui Lake. Then walk or order a taxi)
💲Entrance: ¥30, includes movie. Booking and payment is done in app, a week ahead. Tickets become available everyday at 9:30am.
🟢Remember to be on time. Start in 1st floor and exhibition will move you up. In 2nd floor you can see coffee shop and another exhibit entrance. We missed the B1 hall due to short time.
🌌 Inside the Earth sphere there is a projection of constellations, you need to wait in queue. Projection lasts around 12 minutes, don’t worth it if you have little time left.

Come to Sheshan this weekend, the spring is just right, and the Astronomy Museum is quite interesting too
Sheshan is the highest mountain in Shanghai, although it is less than a hundred meters tall, but the spring scenery is worth seeing! Especially the Shanghai Astronomy Museum! It is both educational and entertaining, just as Kangde said, 'Above me, the splendid starry sky; the moral laws and decrees, in my heart.' The exploration of the splendid starry sky has never stopped! If the telescope that traveled all the way from France a hundred years ago was our support for exploring the stars, then a hundred years later, this museum's ability to stimulate children's interest will be the inexhaustible driving force for this exploration to continue! Perhaps this is the meaning of the museum's establishment! To inherit and promote!

The First Modern Astronomical Observatory in China | Sheshan Observatory (1584)
Sheshan Observatory (1584). Located at the summit of Sheshan Mountain in Songjiang District, Shanghai, Sheshan Observatory was established in the 26th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1900).
Sheshan Observatory is the first professional astronomical observatory in modern China dedicated to the study of astronomical science. It is also the birthplace of modern Chinese astronomy and an important witness to the development of modern astronomy in China.
On May 3, 2013, Sheshan Observatory was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as the seventh batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units. In September 2016, Sheshan Observatory was listed as one of the first batch of China's 20th Century Architectural Heritage.
