[2024 Shanghai Stay] Travel Guide for Shanghai Disneyland Hotel (Updated Nov)
Loving Shanghai Disneyland 🏰💕
#winhkflight
Visiting Shanghai Disneyland during Halloween was an unforgettable experience. The Pirates of the Caribbean show stole the spotlight with its captivating performance. The special firework show added an extra dose of magic to the festivities. Dining at Barbosa's Bounty was a delight, especially relishing the flavors of the pork ribs set. Snacking on Mickey ice cream and popcorn added to the joyous atmosphere. "Over the Horizon" was mesmerizing, leaving a lasting impression. Without a doubt, I would eagerly return to Shanghai Disneyland for another enchanting adventure.

Shanghai Disney land tips
Let’s start this in a chronological order haha. Firstly to save on the tickets, (PROTIP 1) consider buying the tickets early (10 days in advance) so you can get your hands on early bird tickets, which saves you about 10SGD (quite abit in my opinion)
Once you gotten your ticket, you’ll most probably ask if you should get the premier access ticket and that really depends on you! For myself, I went alone as a solo traveller so quite flexible and my goal was to take only the key rides. So I only bought the premier tickets on the Disney resort app for the Seven dwarf and soaring (not worth it), cost about 180Yuan for each ride.
(PROTIP 2) If you plan your time right and go early (0830-0900) you definitely don’t need any premier access tickets.
But if you’re travelling with family, can consider the combo deals on the app and premier tickets if you wanna skip the queues.
Key rides with long waiting times:
- Soaring Over the Horizon (family friendly, not a thrill ride btw!, 6/10)
- Roaring Rapids (wet ride, bring poncho!, 9/10)
- pirates of the Caribbean battle for the sunken treasure (cinematic ride with AR and 4D effects, 10/10 recommend to try)
- seven dwarf mine train (roller coaster, not really thrilling, but not bad, 8/10)
- Tron Lightcycle Ride (thrilling ride, 15/10)
Either ways, (PROTIP 3) do download the Shang hai Disney report app on AppStore, and plan your routes, to conquer all rides you wanna go for. The app shows you a map that helped you navigate along with key attractions waiting time and showtimes for parades and meet and greets.
So now you have gotten your tickets and you are a day away from your trip. Here are some things you might consider packing to make your trip more enjoyable. (I went during summer in July, which is also when China have their summer breaks, 暑假, so there are alot of people with super long queues)
PROTIP 4: packing list
*****passport you use to book your tickets
1. Sunscreen (protect your skin!)
2. Umbrella/ Poncho (umbrella helps to shade yourself, in case it rains as well and poncho u can wear for wet rides)
3. Shades/ bucket hat/shades (explanatory, ☀️🥵)
4. Water proof bag/ drawstring bag (big enough to carry your stuff)
5. Water bottle (there are water coolers around the park!)
6. Snacks (food in the park is quite exonerate so if you’re unwilling to pay for them, bring your own to snack on during long queues)
7. Portable charger
8. Ziplock bags for your passport, valuables during wet rides.
PROTIP 5: Gentle reminder to wear comfortably and dress light because you will sweat alot. (Like alot 🥹)
So you’re now ready for Disney land, to get there you can go for the metro. Take the Shang hai metro line 11, till the last stop. (About 10-15 mins walk to the park) PROTIP 6 Download Baidu maps for easy navigation!
Final tip:
There are two shows for the finale fireworks (at 8pm and 9pm, if you can, go for the 9pm one cause it has way lesser people and the feels and vibes of the show is way better!

Visited the park in 2019, pre-Covid and had a blast.
The queues weren't too bad, as we found out we picked quite a good day for our visit and we were able to enjoy almost all of the attractions we were interested in. Even on a not so busy day, some of the attractions were a bit busy and we were thinking that a fast pass would have been a good idea. but then again, the concept of fast passes is a bit of a wallet burning idea.
TRON ride is a unique experience that was something else and we really enjoyed Star Wars hall - the 2 meters high Lord Vader was stealing the show. The Pirates of the Caribbean are also a must, as the visual effects are incredible!
My partner and I have been to a few amusement parks and this was one of the better ones - however, you should come prepared, as the prices inside are quite high and English translations are not present everywhere.

A Magical Night at Shanghai Disneyland
Stayed at the executive floor at the Disneyland Hotel for one night. The price was -- well, very Disney but it delivered good value.
The hotel and room were very clean, and have the sort of Disney theme (as many point out, an art-deco version) that you wish for. Honestly I was a bit skeptical about it but the real thing did not disappoint -- the building and small details were of good quality and very Disney-like.
The staff are all very warm, professional and welcoming. If you can, we recommend the executive floor for higher level of service and overall experience.

Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, into the fairy tale, meet all Disney characters!
Shanghai Disneyland Hotel feels completely a hotel designed for children. In addition to the cartoon decoration style, the hotel can meet many Disney characters. It is really the magic and imagination of Disney.
When coming in from the door, it is like walking inside a fairy tale. There are Mickey and Minnie bronze statues in the front of the door. The children will take a photo taking photo first. There are also "Little Mermaid" and "Beauty" in the hotel. With the Beast, Cinderella and many other character sculptures, each of them must be taken together.
It is worth mentioning that the hotel has a very large glass peony sculpture, surrounded by Disney's elves, which is unique to Chinese hotels, you must remember to punch cards. In addition, the "Little Mermaid" Chuanton King swimming pool, "Lion King" Hakulamata and the Cinderella Ballroom are all restored in fairy tales, don't miss it.
Hotel room:
If the center of gravity is not at Disneyland, it is highly recommended to upgrade to the type of executive room. In the "Magic King VIP Lounge", you can solve three meals a day, from day to night. If you have something to eat, you cant stop it.
There are children's beds in the room, as well as toiletries for children. Really, the hotel is a fairy tale for children.
Others:
The hotel has a bedtime story to listen to at night, you can bring the children to sleep with the bedtime story, and you can also meet Mickey wearing pajamas. !! Oh, yes, you can meet other people in the hotel restaurant~ and don't have to worry about finding photos. They will come together to take photos with the kids. The happiest one is them!~
Stay in the hotel and enjoy the early passage, and buy tickets will send a quick pass ~ ~ save time and choose!

Packing up my luggage and getting ready to go back to Beijing. I just said that you went to Disney to go to the hotel. It seems that it is really true. The park has not played well. Many projects have not been played yet. I look forward to the next trip. However, living with a girlfriend (gun) wine () shop (dan) is also very comfortable to take a photo.

Shanghai! The Bund! A budget hotel for the whole family!
Shanghai! The Bund! A budget hotel for the whole family!
I took my family to Shanghai last week and stayed at a budget hotel that we were very satisfied with.
The rooms are equipped with smart controls, which is a blessing for lazy people.
It is only a five or six-minute walk to Shanghai Railway Station, and the Bund is also nearby, which is very convenient.
✔Smart controls ✔Near the Bund ✔Family-friendly
.
✅Well-equipped, comfortable, and cozy
I saw Xiaodu as soon as I entered the door, which was very friendly, haha.
The warm lighting made me feel cozy, and the bedding was clean and comfortable.
There is also a gym, so you can exercise after eating and drinking.
There is also a beautiful river view outside the window, which is great value!
.
✅Convenient transportation
It only took five minutes to walk from Shanghai Railway Station, so I didn't have to worry about having too much luggage.
The subway station is also nearby, so it is convenient to go to the surrounding areas.
It is also very close to the Bund by subway, which only takes a few minutes.
I saved a lot on transportation costs.
✅Great service and delicious food
The hotel also provides a buffet breakfast with various snacks.
The whole family can enjoy it, and the wontons taste like home.
I will stay here again next time I come to Shanghai.

Disneyland Shanghai
Disneyland is always that dream come true place that you will dream of when you’re a child, but having it in Halloween is just a dream come true for boys like me ! All the villains will roam the world during night. I would say visited disneyland in this season is a special one for me, you get to experience twice the fun, there’s always extra halloween stuff after one original event, e.g. the road parade, the fireworks and more. They each have their unique spooky twist and i love it. I specially like shanghai dl pirates of the Caribbean section, as a fan of the movie, i enjoy the ride and the stunt show, stunt show amazed me by how insane their stunt was and quite interesting to see a chinese version of it #couplestrip #awesomepic #disney #travel

Is the Disneyland Hotel worth it?
Is the Disneyland Hotel worth it🌷🌷? Service✅
Every staff member will greet you warmly and give you a small gift when they see you. When you check in, the butler will introduce the hotel services and activities. There were surprisingly many people these days. When you check in, you will be given a number plate🌷. When it's almost your turn, they will call you. Every day, there are Disney characters for you to take FREE photos with. The staff will also help you take photos~ My sister forgot something at the hotel and they actually called us and helped us send it back (for FREE)🌷🌷🌷
Room✅
The room is the size of a pigeon cage. When I checked in, I wanted a wardrobe room, but there were too many people and it was full. If you want a wardrobe, you have to upgrade to a Donald Duck theme or Frozen theme✅
There is no breakfast. The items in the blue box in the room can be taken away. The small cup on the washstand can be taken away. There are also some postcards, etc.✅
Overall, the service is very good, no complaints. The room, emmmmm.... The hotel has a store where you can buy limited edition products, but each room can only buy once per night!✅
The hotel also has many activities to participate in. There is also a terrace where you can watch the fireworks. The location is good. The ferry and shuttle bus to and from the park are very good. Last time, the staff also helped us carry things👍👍👍

When you need a break from everyday life and want a break from the stress of being an adult, what better place to go than Shanghai Disney Resort!
We recently did a staycation at the Disneyland Hotel, which was so magical!! The amenities are amazing, the grounds beautiful, and the food is delicious!
Be sure to check out the Lion King themed maze on the hotel grounds, as well as the Little Mermaid themed indoor pool! If you're looking for a relaxing time, check out the beautiful artwork around the hotel and enjoy the beautiful music from the pianist who plays nightly in the lobby.
The best part is after a long day, you get to curl up in your cozy robe and slippers and watch the fireworks from your hotel room!

Shanghai Disney Resort Hotel
Great for family with children, two double bed and one special bed for kid, garden view with big tub. Stroll during flower blossom season make your stay more cherishing. The hotel provides free 🎁 for the family, of course children always like theirs. If you wanted to enter the park early, Disney Hotel a good choice, they provide shuttle bus and boat to the park. For me, I rather choose boat more nearer and the kids can experience boat ride too. The most exciting part for kids is the kid room, different Disney characters will appear secretly make the kids cheerful. Would like to stay again if we are coming to Shanghai Disneyland😊 #hotelreview

Shanghai Disneyland Hotel
Check-in Benefits
The biggest benefit is the proximity and early park entry~
Early Access: Hotel guests can enter the park one hour early through the hotel passage in Disneytown~
Hotel-Park Shuttle: Starting from 7 AM, there is a shuttle every 15 minutes until 11 PM. Guests can ride with their room key card. The shuttle's park-side stop is at the hotel guest entrance in Disneytown, which is very close to the park entrance!
Special Room Key Souvenir: After checking out, the hotel room key will not be taken back and is given to guests as a souvenir~
Souvenir Gifts: The room will have park-themed souvenirs and towels, and a new set will be added daily during cleaning! Later, when shopping in the park, we found out that these souvenirs are actually sold there~
Room Highlights
This time we experienced the "Deluxe Garden View Twin Room," which is considered a basic room type in the hotel~
Hidden Play Feature on the Headboard: There is a button on the nightstand between the twin beds. When pressed, lights will flash on the headboard, a Mickey head will light up on the mirror, and fireworks will explode over the castle on the other side of the headboard. It's very fairy-tale-like and girly~
Free Disney Movies: The TV has all Disney's original animations and movies, all for free~
Disney Friends Everywhere
You can see Disney friends just walking around the hotel! Public Areas of the Hotel
Hotel Lobby: You can rest here, and there are musicians playing Disney music during the day. Sitting here is truly relaxing for both body and mind, haha~
Lounge & Dessert Bar: It has a nice view, overlooking the garden and lake, and you can even see the iconic water ducks at the Disney entrance~
Disney Store: It's a relatively small Disney store but well-stocked. You can also buy limited-edition popcorn buckets from the park here!
Dining Situation: It's a buffet style with both Chinese and Western cuisine. The most surprising part is the small cakes themed after Chuansha Seven Sons. It feels like buying this set in the park would cost two to three hundred, but here you can take it freely! There's also a special Bell cocktail to drink, but alcoholic beverages are extra~
