[2024 Boracay Island Stay] Travel Guide for Shangri-La Boracay (Updated Sep)
Two-Day Dream Trip to Boracay: Walk on Soft White Sand and Embrace the Azure Sea and Sky
Boracay, a dazzling gem of the Philippines, is located in the Aklan province in central Philippines. This narrow island, shaped like a dumbbell, is renowned for its White Beach, one of the world's top ten beaches. The 4-kilometer-long beach with powdery sand and crystal-clear waters is hailed as a 'paradise on earth.' Additionally, the island boasts spectacular sunset sails, the mysterious Puka Shell Beach, thrilling dive spots like Crocodile Island and Crystal Cove, each a perfect blend of nature and romance.
📍Location:
Boracay is situated on the west coast of the Philippines, about 315 kilometers from Manila. It can be reached by a combination of flights and ferries or directly by vehicle and ferry from Kalibo Airport.
🚗Travel Guide:
✈️First, fly from your city to Manila, the capital of the Philippines, or directly to Kalibo Airport. If you choose Manila, you can transfer to Caticlan Airport, the nearest gateway to Boracay.
⛴️Upon arriving in Caticlan, take a short ferry ride to Boracay, which takes about 10-15 minutes, and step onto this dreamland.
🌊Attractions:
1. **White Beach** - Stroll on this silky smooth beach, enjoy the sunshine and sea breeze, and don't miss the stunning sunset in the evening.
2. **Bulabog Beach** - On the other side of the island, perfect for surfing enthusiasts to challenge themselves and feel the power of the waves.
3. **Sunset Sail** - Ride on colorful sailboats, gently swaying with the sea breeze, and enjoy a visual feast under the orange-red sky.
4. **Puka Beach** - Collect colorful shells, an ideal spot for taking romantic photos.
5. **Diving Exploration** - Discover the mysteries of the underwater world, dance with tropical fish, or visit famous coral reef areas.
🛌Accommodation Information:
The island offers a wide range of accommodations, from luxurious resorts to budget-friendly hostels. Recommended are the 'Shangri-La's Boracay Resort and Spa' for its infinity pool and private beach tranquility, or the 'Astoria Boracay' for a cost-effective comfortable stay. Book in advance to enjoy sea view rooms with morning light and starry nights.
💡Travel Tips:
- Best travel time: November to May, avoiding the rainy season for the best weather.
- Ensure adequate sun protection with high SPF sunscreen, sun hats, and sunglasses.
- Try local delicacies such as Filipino barbecue and halo-halo dessert to experience authentic flavors.
- Protect the environment by not leaving trash on the beach or in the sea.
On this land favored by nature, Boracay tells its unique story about the sea. Two days may be short, but it's enough to thoroughly relax and cleanse your soul. When the journey ends, what remains is not just footprints but an infinite longing for a beautiful life. Looking forward to the day when you meet this dreamy beach again and let your soul set sail once more.🌈🏖️
Now, let this spontaneous trip become the brightest memory of your life!🚀

Vacationing in the Philippines!! Just a light holiday
Vacationing in the Philippines!! Just a light holiday⛱️
I didn't have high expectations for the trip to Boracay, as the islands in Southeast Asia are quite similar, and since there were no new major hotels on Boracay, I had to choose Shangri-La, thinking it would be a peaceful vacation with the family.
The result was completely beyond my expectations. The facilities show their age, but Shangri-La maintains them very well, and the service, restaurants, and spa are all quite good (though the Mediterranean restaurant was a bit lacking).
Everyone must take good care of their sun protection! Got a serious sunburn on my shoulders and thighs🥺
If you want the best experience, I suggest avoiding the seaweed season from March to May.

The best on Boracay Island
Currently, Shangri-La is the only international chain hotel on the entire Boracay Island, located in a separate corner of the island, and the hotel has two private beaches, which is also one of the best snorkeling areas around the island, so the price is always very firm compared to other hotels on the island.
The room was upgraded to a sea view suite, but the floor was relatively low and there were coconut trees blocking the view, but it also had its own beauty. Another advantage is that it is very close to one of the hotel's beaches, and it is directly accessible from the downstairs, and I personally feel that this sea area is more interesting than the other beach of the hotel, very suitable for snorkeling.
The room is very large, and the hardware has not shown obvious aging, the comfort is still very good. The welcome gift is quite generous, a full table, and the non-alcoholic drinks in the minibar are all free, about 6 or 7 kinds of soft drinks. Fruits and minibar drinks are replenished every day, and the room is equipped with beach slippers, bathrobes, yukatas, pajamas, portable bags, which are quite in place in terms of software.
The hotel has a poolside restaurant, an all-day restaurant, and a landscape restaurant. I went to experience them separately during my stay. The view of Rima is indeed excellent. You need to make a reservation in advance. The butler reserved the best sunset viewing position for me. Eating, drinking, and blowing the sea breeze at night is quite comfortable. Two people plus wine eat casually about 1.5k RMB.
In addition, the hotel also has a private customization service, enjoying dinner alone in the beach area or pavilion, priced from 2k to 3k.
I only went to the all-day restaurant for breakfast, the variety is indeed rich, and the overall style is Asian, but the variety will not be updated, and eating for many days will indeed be a bit boring.
The overall volume of the hotel is very large, there are two beach areas, one is very suitable for snorkeling, swimming out from the shore 7 or 8 meters into the reef area, you can see a lot of fish and format marine animals, here I also saw a suspected sea snake animal... The other beach is close to the pool area, more suitable for watching the sunset, and the poolside restaurant is also close by.
In my personal feeling, this is definitely the best on Boracay Island, from service, supporting facilities, environment, food can fully meet the needs of vacation.

Shangrila- unbeatable!
Sirena is a wide wooden patio with open-sided cabanas, outdoor sofas, and tables centered on a fire pit. This establishment is a beautiful sundowner destination where you can sample a wide range of tapas, cocktails, and international seafood specialties with a Filipino touch. Sirena's desserts are also highly recommended. If you want to impress someone, this is the place to go.

The Shangri-La Resort, Boracay, Philippines is located in the S1 area, which is the farthest from the Boracay Visitors Pier. Because of this, as our speedboats get closer and closer to the hotel, tourists become less and less, and the color of the sea is bluer. Sure enough, I was very different from the Boracay public beach I was impressed with.
The entire Shangri-La resort is particularly large, and a battery car is a must. It doesn't take long to come to the hotel lobby. The open structure allows you to see the most beautiful sea views everywhere.
The quality of the sea here is both blue and bright, and it shines like sapphire under the sunlight.
Entering the room, the door is refreshing and refreshing. It didn't disappoint me. The large room, with the floor-to-ceiling windows on the whole floor, introduced the beautiful sea view outside the window, and you can enjoy watching the sea in the room.
This also confirms an old saying that beauty needs to pay a price. So for you, when you travel, how much "cost" are you willing to pay for a beautiful scenery?
SHUN.
Lunch was settled at Puka Beach and I ate a very famous local roast suckling pig.
A small pig was baked into a brownish yellow, placed in the middle of a pile of rice and fruit, still not eaten, the heart of compassion came
without chopsticks and spoon, we Just grabbing it with your hands, maybe the little friends are still a bit disgusting with each other. They just eat this little meal in front of their eyes. We eat all the mango and watermelon, and few people go to catch rice. Haha.
Malistudio.
Forever thankful

Shangri-La Boracay
This was almost a perfect beach vacation.
Beautiful resort, very private only accessible by boat. Good service overall. Location and views are just spectacular! One of the best beaches on earth!
The resort is showing its age. Small cracks and dated materials. Food is good, but was expecting more for these prices. We had a loft villa, private pool and two stories with ocean views. Overall it’s a very special place!
