Wenzhou | Ming Dynasty Stone Hall of Shengjing Mountain, a Transcendental Encounter
| Ming Dynasty Stone Hall of Shengjing Mountain, a Transcendental Encounter.🌄Guys, today I'm going to share with you a hidden gem in Wenzhou - the Ming Dynasty Stone Hall on the top of Shengjing Mountain. This 800-year-old stone hall is like a mysterious time capsule, exuding a fascinating charm that draws you in.
🏯Every ancient building is a recorder of history and culture, and the Shengjing Mountain Stone Hall is no exception. It was built in 1260 during the Southern Song Dynasty and has stood tall through the ages. Each stone on the stone walls seems to tell a story of past glory and vicissitudes.
💎The stone hall is mainly composed of two parts: the Stone Hall and the Jade Emperor Pagoda, covering a total area of 630 square meters. The main building consists of a mountain gate, a stone archway, a front hall, a rear hall, and left and right wing rooms. All components are carved from stone, without a single piece of wood or tile, which is extremely rare in Chinese architectural history.
👀The archway behind the mountain gate is particularly eye-catching. It is a four-pillar, three-bay, three-story imitation wood structure with a single eaves and a suspended mountain top. The granite mosaic is thick and simple, with a distinct Ming Dynasty architectural style. The plaques hanging above, such as "Shengjing", "Weiling", "Xianhe", and "Xu Mansion Holy Temple", add a touch of simplicity and elegance to the stone hall.
🎈The front hall has three bays, and the plaques and couplets are full of mystery. The reason why the word "Xu Mansion" appears repeatedly here is because this place is related to the Taoist Xu Zhenjun of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. It is said that Xu Zhenjun once practiced here, and the stove well still exists. The mountain and the hall are named after him.
💧There is a holy well in the rear hall. The well water is clear and sweet, and it never overflows or dries up all year round. The back room is made into a shrine, where statues are worshipped. There are 14 wing rooms on each side. Zhang Cong, a Ming Dynasty cabinet minister, once came here to seek a dream, leaving behind an interesting story. Today, these wing rooms are available for tourists to sleep in. Maybe you can also seek a dream and solve your doubts here.
🌈The Shengjing Stone Hall is located in the Shengjing Mountain Scenic Area, with a ticket price of only 15 yuan. After entering the scenic area, climb the mountain for about half an hour. The beautiful scenery along the way will definitely make your trip worthwhile. Come to Shengjing Mountain and have a beautiful encounter with this Ming Dynasty Stone Hall that has transcended the long river of history!💕
