Day 1️⃣: Yushui Ancient Hot Spring
🔹Transportation:
🚅 Arrive at Maoming Station, take a taxi 🚗 to Yushui Ancient Hot Spring ♨️
🔹Entertainment:
The water park here has a water-splashing festival, exotic parades, and special hot springs. We took the kids to play in the water everywhere, and they were so happy, even pulling the NPC sister 📷. Additionally, the hot spring lobby offers Hanfu dress-up and DIY crafts, providing an immersive experience of ancient culture.
🔹Accommodation:
We stayed at the Sheraton Hot Spring, where the family room is cozy and comfortable, full of childlike fun. The view outside the window is lush and green, very pleasing to the eye.

Day 2️⃣: Romantic Coast
🔹Transportation:
There is a 🆓 shuttle bus from the hot spring area to the Romantic Coast, which needs to be reserved one day in advance.
🔹Accommodation:
We stayed at the Sheraton Romantic Coast. First, we put our luggage in the room. The balcony overlooks the hot spring area, and soaking in the hot spring while looking at the sea is very pleasant. We quickly changed into swimsuits and started having fun.
🔹Activities:
There are many things to do by the sea. We relaxed under the coconut trees drinking coconut water, while the kids were catching crabs by the sea and found many beautiful shells. They said they wanted to take them home to make a shell bunny and were lucky enough to catch a small 🦀. The water park, children's playground, infinity pool, and water chapel 📷 are all beautiful. In the evening, we watched Southeast Asian song and dance performances and a fireworks show, creating a lively and great atmosphere.

We had a seafood feast, which was fresh and delicious, with tender meat and full of Southeast Asian flavors.

We had a buffet breakfast at the Wyndham restaurant, then took the kids to the beach to catch crabs 🏖. It wasn't very sunny in the morning, and the tide had just receded, bringing many new shells and small crabs to the shore, making the kids very happy.
Around 3 PM, we took the bus to the high-speed rail station. It was really convenient, and we didn't have to worry much about the trip.

Generally, Sheraton is perceived as an international brand with a strong business atmosphere. However, there is a Sheraton in Guangdong that will completely overturn your stereotype of the Sheraton brand, which is the Maoming Sheraton Hot Spring Resort.
When guests arrive at the Maoming Sheraton Hot Spring Resort, the first thing they see is the hotel lobby, which is a classic Chinese-style palace building. The interior uses a framework structure composed of wooden columns and beams, fully reflecting the classical Chinese aesthetics and a sense of grandeur. Behind the lobby is a Chinese garden. In the garden, there is a sizable pond with lotus flowers on the water and koi fish underneath. A curved bridge is built over the pond. On the other side of the pond, there is a small hill with pavilions built on the hillside and the summit. Moreover, the hotel lobby entrance, the arch bridge, and the two pavilions are all on the same straight line, progressing step by step. The entire hotel complex has mountains and water, with the landscape corresponding to each other, and the feng shui layout is quite exquisite. This Sheraton's public area environment is also considered top-notch among all Sheraton hotels in the Guangdong region.
Coming to the hotel rooms, the hot spring pool rooms are designed with one room and one hot spring, equipped with a viewing balcony and a hot spring pool. If it is a garden view room, you can overlook the entire mountain and water scenery of the hotel from the balcony. The hot spring pool placed on the balcony is quite large, and it's no problem for a family of three to soak in the hot spring together. Moreover, the hotel does not limit the number of times you can use the pool water, and you can start the hot spring water for a private bath at any time. However, it should be noted that the pure hot spring water temperature reaches up to 80 degrees, and you need to add some tap water to adjust to a suitable bathing temperature. In addition to soaking in a private bath in the room, right next to the hotel is the Imperial Water Ancient Hot Spring Resort area, where hotel guests can go and soak in the hot spring pools with various functions for free.
The hotel has a mountain and water theater at 9:30 pm, with a performance lasting 30 minutes. The performers wear Chinese classical costumes and use the hotel's mountain and water garden as the stage to bring an immersive song and dance performance to the hotel guests. Different performance themes are changed every quarter. If you stay in a garden view room, there is no need to go to the public area, as you can directly watch the performance from the balcony of your room.

| After a few days on the road back from a self-driving tour, I decided to soak in the hot springs to relieve fatigue. I stayed at the Sheraton Hotel, which offers a weekday package of 899 RMB for double breakfast and dinner. It shares a hot spring with another hotel in the Yu Shui Gu Hot Spring Resort.
The hotel, which opened in 2022, has a really nice environment and rooms. The weather was also great, with a gentle cool breeze, neither cold nor hot. Possibly because it was a weekday, there were hardly any people, almost like having a private booking with 36 natural hot springs to choose from, which was incredibly comfortable.
Buffet: There aren't many types (understandable given the few people), but in the end, you can still get full, and the food quality is pretty good, with free white wine to drink FREE.
Bug: Surprisingly, the Sheraton Hotel doesn't have bed rails.
The place is quite remote, accessed through a village, so you can only stay in the hotel. The water park is also really old, with no one around, the water barely on, and no staff at the towel station. You have to pour your own water. But considering the real hot springs are quiet, with no people, and the pools are clean and comfortable, these issues can be overlooked. The off-peak travel experience is really great, making it worth the stay.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Sheraton Maoming Hot Spring Resort!
Comfortable, quiet, and leisurely, the hotel is located inside the Yushui Ancient Hot Spring, where you can enjoy both hot springs and a water park.
The hotel package I booked also includes tickets to the Romantic Coast (a 30-minute journey) as part of the itinerary for the next day. It's not crowded at all, which is a bliss compared to the popular seaside cities during the summer holidays. I really dislike crowded places.
Children have a blast playing with sand and catching sea life during the recent fishing season, and there are evening parties at the Romantic Coast.
Unfortunately, we had to head back, but I look forward to going there again
