Ramen museum
Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum was founded on March 6th, 1994 as the world's first Ramen-themed amusement park. Our concept has been to be the one-stop place to enjoy the flavors of this national dish from renowned shops across Japan without stepping on a plane.
An exhibition area where visitors can learn about the history and culture of ramen is also located on the first floor. In the "Ramen Making Experience class" visitors can make noodles using the traditional Chinese method of "green bamboo beating," and enjoy learning how flour is transformed into ramen.

Showa Era Vibe at a ramen museum
Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum- Part 2
Who would have thought that you could go back in time to the Showa era at this museum? Besides eating ramen, you can do a lot more activities here. Showa Street inside the museum is perfect for taking pictures. While strolling around, you will come across an ice cream shop, where you can try the famous ice cream in Hokkaido. You will also see the Dagashi-ya where you can buy sweets and toys from the Showa era. I bet Japanese people feel nostalgic whenever they step into the museum. This place is definitely for the hungry and curious.

World's first Ramen-themed amusement park
Are you a fan of RAMEN? Then you should go to Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum! There is a wide selection of Japanese Ramen here. You can learn about the history and culture of ramen. Plus, there is a “Ramen Making Experience class”. There are several ramen shops in the museum, and believe me, choosing what to eat, is the hardest part. We finally had Ryu Shanghai Hoten which is a hot spicy miso ramen. The shops were packed with people when we went, so we had to wait more than an hour! That was worth the wait tho!
The admission fee is pretty cheap too!!!
The ticket for adults (19 or older) is 380 yen, and for
children (6 to 12) & seniors(60 and over) is 100 yen. It's
free for children younger than 6 years old.

I am such a Ramen lover, so when we went to Yokohama, I begged my friends that we go to Shin-Yokahama Ramen Museum. It is such gorgeous food court, where the bright lights from the food stalls amplifies the ambiance of the surroundings, especially that it is said that the food court is a recreation of Tokyo during 1958. Plus! Oh my gosh! I specially loved the Tonkotsu Ramen there that I ate there! Yum!

Japan, Yokohama
Thinking about the Japanese food culture, I made a special trip to see the Ramen Museum in Shin-Yokohama. The ingenuity here restores the market style of the 55th and 65th centuries. On the basement and second floor, there are eight ramen shops strictly selected from all over Japan, and they are really delicious!
Lunch time arrived here, it was not just tourists, the office workers who work around, are willing to buy a ticket, come in and taste the outstanding ramen representatives from all over Japan.
Point a bowl of Kumamoto's special ramen, the oil is very thick, although drinking a lot of ice water, but the taste in the mouth is still lingering. In order to allow visitors here to taste a few bowls of noodles, the store also launched a tasting version of the small bowl noodles.
Of course, outside the ramen, every scene in the Ramen Museum has truly restored the appearance of the streets of the twentieth century. Cigarette shops, traditional dim sum shops, and even baths are still spraying steam. The central square hosts various activities such as paper play and magic, so that guests in other locations are no longer so boring.

The Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum is a unique food-themed attraction celebrating Japan’s iconic dish. Part museum, part food court, it recreates a 1950s Japanese street with ramen shops offering regional styles from across Japan. Visitors can learn about ramen’s history and cultural significance through exhibits, then savor bowls of authentic noodles. The nostalgic ambiance, complete with vintage decorations and music, transports guests back in time. The museum also caters to dietary preferences with vegetarian and smaller portions. It’s a must-visit for ramen lovers and anyone looking for a delicious and immersive cultural experience.

We stop here on our way back to Tokyo from Hakone Open Museum. We were driving and it was pretty easy to park, because is next door to a public underground parking. The museum is a very small information center about different types of Ramen all around Japan.
I enjoyed walking around and sampling the different types of ramen. The beers and whisky were excellent, and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Ramen Museum
This is a fun food court. We came about 1/2 an hour before they opened and there were about 15 people ahead of us. There are two lines. The line on the left are season pass holders. The line on the right is for people buying tickets to enter. We tried two restaurants before the place got really packed. The first restaurant we went to was OK. It is the one on the top level. The 2nd place was much better. Some restaurants don't have the smaller size ramens. So don't get too full on one restaurant. Be sure to do walk around the mid-level area to get a scope of the beautiful decorations.

Shin Yokohama Ramen
#2024wish The experience is amazing, you get to visit a recreation of old japanese streets and you get to taste different kind of ramen which is very well presented and tasty.
The only issue is the wait to get inside the shops inside the museum to actually taste the ramen. You gotta queue up for a lot but it's worth.
They accept cards and they are tourists friendly.
There is also a section where you can create your own custom bowl of ramen with custom printed cover photo and bring it home!
I wish to go back here in 2024

Just slurped my way through ramen paradise at the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum! 🍜 The 310 JPY entrance fee was a steal for the ultimate noodle haven. 💰
The museum is a nostalgic journey into ramen history – the replica of Showa-era streets and ramen joints is like a culinary time machine. 🕰️ The aromas of various ramen styles wafting through the air create an irresistible appetite. 😋
The highlight is the food court – a ramen theme park! 🎢 From classic Shoyu to regional specialties, each bowl is a flavor adventure. The mini bowls are genius – perfect for trying multiple varieties. 🍲
The vibe is lively, and ramen chefs showcase their craft. The Cup Noodles Museum nearby is another quirky spot for noodle enthusiasts! 🍜🏭
Post-ramen feast, Yokohama's Chinatown is a short hop away – street food, temples, and a lively atmosphere await. 🥟🏮 #RamenMuseumAdventure #NoodleHeaven #YokohamaFoodie #FoodieParadise

This is the best ramen shop in Tokyo!
Loved the ambiance of this museum.
It showcases the Edo era of Japan by decorating the shops in that manner.
