The Torii Gate of Shirahige Shrine on the Water
Walking all the way from the station, after turning a corner, the torii gate majestically stands on the lake. The torii gate on the water has always been a dreamy existence.
It takes about an hour and a half to travel from Osaka to Omi-Takashima. Upon arrival, you can choose to take a taxi, ride a bicycle, or walk (I walked back and forth this time, which took about an hour). The bicycle rental fee is 500 yen per use.
When heading from the station to Shirahige Shrine, it is recommended to walk on the right side. There is a sidewalk all the way. If you walk on the left side, there is a section without a sidewalk, which is quite dangerous!
Additionally, if you happen to encounter rainy weather, even if it has just cleared up, be sure to prepare a raincoat. The place to take pictures of the torii gate is close to the road, and without a raincoat, you might get splashed all over by passing trucks. 😂
⭐ When departing from Osaka, be aware that the train will split into two lines after arriving in Kyoto. Make sure you are in the car heading towards Omi-Takashima.

Beautiful cry! Japan's dreamy waterbirds, Kyoto, small travel guides, nets, red photographs, holy places, hh/
, have always been obsessed with Japanese vermilion, and looking for distinctive torii is every time I come to Japan. One of the goals. This time I came to Kyoto to finally check out the net red water bird house: Baishou Shrine.
Transportation
From Kyoto Station, take JR to Yamagata Station and transfer to the Biwa Line to Omi Takashima Station.
You can choose to take a taxi or walk after you leave the station. Personally, you can walk on the one hand. On the one hand, it is because it is quite biased. It is not an easy task to get a car. On the other hand, it is about 30 minutes on foot. Moreover, the road will pass through Wuhu, which is very suitable for taking pictures. Stopping and taking pictures at the edge of Lake Biwa will soon arrive.
Photo Raiders:
The road to Baishen Shrine will pass through Wuhu. The water here is very clear. You must know that Wuhu is the only designated water source for SK2 products. When the weather is good, the lake is very Blue, it is very suitable for taking photos of Japanese style.
If you want to take a good-looking Baishou Shrine, it is recommended to choose a sunny day. In the afternoon, it will be backlit at noon. The afternoon light is best for shooting, especially when it is more than five o'clock. Very beautiful evening (the dusk I met this time is not the most beautiful, I have seen other photographers shoot, really fried chicken!!)
next to the white mustard / Hh/ Near the Shishou Shrine, the stone monument facing the Shisu Shrine is about 3 minutes left. There is a traditional Japanese ramen shop, a very authentic Japanese ramen, recommended to you.

A Refreshing Drive Trip to Shirahige Shrine
A drive trip to Shirahige Shrine is perfect for a refreshing day.
Under the clear blue sky, enjoying the lakeside scenery while leisurely driving with friends feels luxurious and peaceful. Upon arriving at the shrine, the torii gate standing as if floating on the lake is impressive, and the contrast between the blue sky and the lake is beautiful, prompting us to take many photos. The breeze is pleasant, making it a special place that helps you forget the busyness of daily life. The enjoyable chats with friends and the serene atmosphere of the shrine perfectly match, providing a soothing experience for both body and mind.

Check in at the oldest underwater Torii gate, Shirahige Shrine
Transportation: Take the JR from Kyoto to Omi-Takashima, then you can choose to walk, take a bus, or ride a bicycle to get there.
Comparison: The bus requires waiting, and in a small place, the frequency of buses is sparse. If the timing of your arrival is not convenient, you may have to wait quite a while. It's about a 30-minute walk for 2 kilometers. Cycling takes only 11 minutes. Thoughtfully, the villagers responsible for the station have prepared cycling maps.
There are probably about 5-6 bicycles here, and it's also okay to team up and cycle slowly together.
Include the Shinkansen return time in your plan, and just make sure to stay within the appropriate time for a round trip. It's 500 yen per bicycle per day, and if you have enough time, I recommend slowing down to fully experience the Japanese countryside~ The rural environment in Japan is definitely world-class.
Just so happened that two Japanese ladies also came here because of its fame, crossed the road to take pictures, and later when I saw there were few cars, I also went across.
Since ancient times, Japan has had a legend that says 'Torii gates' are the gateways to the divine realm. Influenced by this legend, Shirahige Shrine has an added sense of mystery. It is solemn yet calm, and as beautiful as a fairyland. The vermilion Torii gate stands on Lake Biwa, where the 'movement' of the water complements the 'stillness' of the Torii, making the entire scene appear even more serene, attracting many tourists to travel great distances to visit.
The underwater Torii gate of Shirahige Shrine has a history of 2000 years.
Seeing it with your own eyes truly inspires awe.

There is a taxi waiting room at the station. You can take a taxi here. In fact, if you walk for 20-30 minutes, you will dare to take the time.

The bird on the lake not far from Kyoto, the picture is super nice
fat friends! ! The Torishima Shrine, the sea bird house in Miyajima, Hiroshima, began maintenance. What if I can't shoot the bird house at sea? ? You can also choose the Baishou Shrine that is very close to Kyoto! The red bird house standing in the lagoon is also brilliant!
Traffic : Kyoto takes JR to Omi Takashima Station, playing taxi or share taxi! You can also walk, it takes more than half an hour to walk!
shoot tips: The road to the opposite side of the shrine will be very good, want to take the picture of the figure 1 you need a tripod, take two pictures and then post-synthesis!

Drive from Hikone Castle through the Biwa Bridge and come to Takashima City Shiraishi Shrine, one of the eight scenic spots in the Omi, a shrine that is relatively unpopular due to inconvenient transportation. Everyone mainly looks at the big bird house on the water in Lake Biwa!
The shrine itself is a bit old, but if you want to see the torii, you must cross the road, but this is a road where everyone is driving at high speed, no traffic lights. There is no zebra crossing, the vehicle has been whizzing past, so in the past must be careful. In the evening, I sat on the ladder and watched the sun slowly fall from the big bird in the water. Of course, all of this is just my personal strong imagination, because the clouds are a bit thick at sunset today, seriously affecting the color and transparency of the lake.
