Saint Isaac's Cathedral
Saint Isaac's Cathedral is the largest, most beautiful church and the fourth largest Christian cathedral in the world. It took over four decades to build. Additionally, the upper balcony offers the highest viewpoint in Saint Petersburg (since there are no tall buildings there).
This cathedral was constructed in the mid-19th century as the main church of the city. It is said that Saint Isaac's Cathedral is the most elaborately decorated cathedral of its era, made with gold leaf weighing a total of 100 kilograms and decorated with over 43 types of marble and other stones. Due to its grandeur, it once hosted the wedding ceremony of Peter the Great and Catherine in 1712.
The most distinctive feature is its golden dome, which is the largest symbol of the city. This is likely true as the magnificent golden dome can be seen from many places in the city.

🧳Preparation before the trip:
In St. Petersburg, there is a lot of snow and rain, so it is recommended to wear less light-colored outerwear, as it is easy to get dirty!
⏳Playtime:
Recommended to visit in summer, there will be more beautiful scenery compared to winter, and the bridges in St. Petersburg will also be open at night in summer, but not in winter! (Pic 6) You can visit many places in about 7 days!
📝Attention tips:
If you can't get used to Russian cuisine, there are also Chinese restaurants (hot pot, stir-fry, etc.) in St. Petersburg. There are relatively more Chinese restaurants on Vasily Island!

This Cathedral is just incredible. You could sit all day looking up & around the incredibly beautiful ceilings & walls. Such an honor to be able to sit and take the entire Cathedral in. Totally a visit to admire & appreciate how it was built and how it is still standing. Mind blowing. A must visit. #wintergetaway

Saint Isaac's Cathedral, the largest church in St. Petersburg, is located in the square of the same name, at a height of 101.5 meters. It is named after St. Isaac of Dalmatia, the main saint of Peter the Great. Built in 1818, it took 40 years to complete in 1858. The
church was first built in 1707 as a wooden chapel of the same name, and has since been rebuilt. The French architect Monferran used a solid masonry to build the church, which not only ensured the stability of the church, but also largely prevented the building from being affected by harmful rainfall. The Cathedral of St. Isaac, now seen, was rebuilt three times.

In St. Petersburg we have only visited a traditional attraction, that is, St. Isaac's Cathedral, one of the four cathedrals of the world. Sure enough, this place did not disappoint me. The most beautiful part of the cathedral is the top-level observation deck, which is the best place to overlook the whole city of St. Petersburg.
bought a ticket and went straight to the viewing platform. I had to climb 260 steps. I was so dizzy and finally reached the top. The scenery was so beautiful! In St. Petersburg, we didnt have many sunny days. The weather forecast originally showed that we were all cloudy for a few days, but there were two sunny days, one of which was the day of St. Isaacs Cathedral. I am very lucky.
