Peaceful and quiet city by the bay
#citydaytours
If you feel you need to find somewhere quiet in HongKong, I have one recommendation for you to visit which is Stanley Market. It would be perfect for your city day tour as you will need only an hour drive and do return trip on the same day.
You can only take bus to get here if you use public transport. You may take the bus from the central area or simply use google maps as it will leads you to the closest bus stop.
You can either do a nice walk around or you can enjoy yourself with a view of the ocean. Fuel up your stomach with its best seafood menu.

I thought Kennedy Town was beautiful enough until I went to Stanley
🌟 I originally thought the scenery of Kennedy Town was charming enough, until I embraced Stanley and discovered it was a completely different world...🌈
👣 Traveling through the colorful chapters of Hong Kong, this time, I invite you to join me on a unique travel feast! Here, one half is the bustling urban fireworks, and the other half is the serene and distant starry sea.🌃
🚌 Jumping on the Big Bus's double-decker open-top bus is like starting a sunset ride between the bustling city and the mountains and sea, with every moment being a gentle crossover of time and space. This is not just a trip, but a magical, free, and romantic dream journey, immersing the whole summer in Hong Kong in a colorful dopamine atmosphere that is intoxicating.💖
🌈 Special recommendation: Stanley Line 🟢 Green Line Day Pass, taking you to experience another side of Hong Kong!
📍 Route Highlights:
🎡 Central Pier 7: The starting point, where the Ferris wheel and blue sky complement each other, and the brilliance of the IFC International Financial Center is in full view, making Hong Kong's prosperity dazzling at this moment.
🏨 Stanley Station: As if you are in the south of France, colorful houses and the European-style Murray House complement each other. The corridor on the second floor is the best place to view the sea, and a stroll at Blake Pier adds a touch of literary and leisure atmosphere. Every photo in the popular cafes is full of Instagram style.
🏖️ Repulse Bay Station: The Hawaii of the East, where summer romance blooms. The fine sand and blue water make this the dating spot of the movie "Love in a Fallen City" at The Verandah, where travel and art meet unexpectedly.
🛶 Aberdeen: Full of retro Hong Kong style, the seafood restaurants and Hong Kong-style boat noodles will satisfy your appetite, and the ferry trip lets you experience the unique style of the water people.
🎢 Mountain Road Overpass: A surprise on the way back, the moment of shuttling between high-rise buildings feels like time travel, both thrilling and full of photo opportunities.
📝 Travel Tips:
1️⃣ It is recommended to take the first bus at 10:30 in the morning, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the journey.
2️⃣ Although the second floor of the open-top bus is beautiful, make sure to do a good job of sun protection. The left side facing the sea is the best position for viewing.
3️⃣ Flexible hop-on-hop-off arrangement, but don't forget the last bus is at 16:30, don't miss the return bus.
4️⃣ Headphones are provided on the bus, with Chinese commentary and multiple language options, and free WiFi allows you to share the highlights of your trip anytime.📸✨

Hong Kong Stanley's citywalk | Stanley Tour Guide
| Stanley Tour Guide. It was only when I arrived at Stanley that I realized how beautiful Hong Kong's coastline really is.
No wonder it's a place mentioned in the song 'Essential for an Old-fashioned Date'.
People who like a slow pace and tranquility will definitely love it here.
Stanley is located in the southern part of Hong Kong Island, surrounded by hills and coastlines.
It's a leisurely seaside town that combines tourism and residence.
With Victorian-style colorful buildings and a seaside promenade,
it's different from the bustling city's skyscrapers and the hurried people.
There are mostly foreigners on the streets, mainly walking dogs, sunbathing, and drinking coffee.
The atmosphere is so leisurely it's unbelievable, really chill and relaxing.
Saying you're on vacation in Europe wouldn't feel out of place at all👏🏻
·
🚌| Transportation:
I crossed the border at Futian Port, took the East Rail Line to 🚇Admiralty Station C1 exit, turned right after exiting and walked straight to see the bus station. Buses 6, 6X, 260 can all take you directly there, getting off at Stanley Plaza, about a 40-minute ride.
💬It's recommended to sit on the right side by the window on the second floor of the bus.
The panoramic sea view from the mountain road along the way is absolutely stunning!
🗺️| Stanley Strolling Route:
Stanley Main Street → Stanley Plaza → Murray House → Blake Pier → Stanley Market → Stanley Main Beach
·
📷On Stanley Main Street, there are various Western bars and small pubs by the sea, with nearly 70 years of history. The corner house, which I thought was a landmark, is actually a restaurant, and the whole street is filled with colorful little houses.
📷 The century-old Murray House, but now it's mostly Western restaurants inside. I saw quite a few people taking wedding photos here.
📷 The nostalgic Blake Pier is just too comfortable~ It feels like it leads directly to the sea. You could sit here all day long to space out, and there are quite a few people fishing here🎣. Getting a close look at the sea and ships makes one feel exceptionally calm.
📷 Walking through the alleys to the inside is the Stanley Market, with various small shops and stalls, feeling like returning to the local streets of Hong Kong, blending local and exotic flavors, this is probably what Hong Kong is all about.

VISIT HONG KONG: Stanley (Must-go places in Hong Kong)
Stanley is a major tourist town on Hong Kong Island. Located between Repulse Bay and Shek O, you can reach it via the 6X bus from Exchange Square in Central.
Aside from being a scenically beautiful place with beautiful beaches, Stanley is home to popular places for shopping, including Stanley Market, which houses small shops and stalls, Stanley Plaza, a shopping mall hosting a variety of yearly events and popular shops and restaurants.
In Stanley, you’re not limited by where you can eat. Stanley Main Street has many bars and restaurants along its waterfront road.
A key place in Stanley is Murray House— a building previously located in Central from 1846, but moved to Stanley in the 2000s. It houses a large H&M clothing store and some restaurants.
Stanley is a popular place for those visiting Hong Kong, whether it be for scenic reasons, historical reasons or to go shopping! Chances are, if you’ve been to Hong Kong, you’ve been to Stanley.

Feel the beach before the water getting cold
Stanley main beach is one of the cleanest beaches in Hong Kong. The name Stanley is the same as the area surrounding the beach named after Lord Stanley, the British Secretary of State at the time of Hong Kong’s handover to Britain in the 19th century.
Stanley beach is a 10-minutes walk from Stanley Market and the promenade area. To reach the beach from downtown Hong Kong, you can take bus No. 6/6A/6X from Central, Admiralty, or Wan Chai. If you are from Tsim Sha Tsui, you can take bus No.973 from the Tsim Sha Tsui East bus terminus.
There is no train going to this area.
It was a great time to spend on the beach even though summer was over. The water is more relaxed but fresh to soak in your foot.

Away from the “hustle and bustle”
Stanley is a seaside village on the South Coast of Hong Kong. Great day out if you wanna get away from the busy city life for the day😄. Blake Pier and Murray House are worth checking out. Buses leave from Central take around 1 hour to get there, may sound long but lovely scenery along the way🥰

A few days ago, I went to Stanley. Because I didn’t have to travel, I decided to go back to Stanley for a day trip. Stanley is one of the few places where I think Hong Kong has a holiday atmosphere. In addition, because of Christmas, the atmosphere of the surrounding lights is even better!
And know that there is a Christmas market in Stanley, so Teden arranges a day trip to Stanley!
Once you enter, first go to an existing restaurant called Pane e Latte to eat first
Because I’m really hungry, Pane e Latte occupies 2 floors. The basement is mainly pink European style, and all kinds of Milan portraits and antiques are hung, plus the layout of pink stripes, bamboo mat ceilings and coastal areas. The location, it feels like being in a small restaurant surrounded by foreign sunshine and beaches.
The main food is desserts. Breads are all Western-style snacks. We have seen people who want to enter the market by the way. But the bread and desserts are really good food! In addition, I like to eat bread, and some of the bread will be displayed in the window, so that you can choose to be super attractive😍
After eating, we went to the side of Murray House to take a photo. Murray House is a historical building with rich Victorian colors. The original site is located in Central. However, in 1998, the government moved more than 3,000 Huagang Rocks in Murray House. Go to Stanley to rebuild. In addition to being a landmark in Stanley, Yijia, Murray House also has gourmet restaurants and various shops, making it a popular check-in hotspot!
After the filming, I went to a pier to sit down, and I was scared. It was almost until the evening. I went to the market first. In fact, the market took 10 minutes to finish because I was so wild. Just feel the atmosphere!
There are many kinds of ornaments, decorations, food, and variety in the market, but we don't have any food available! I always talk about the food in the market, and I think it’s high and low. In terms of price, there is no good price.
After going to the market, I left without too much trouble. It is called the perfect end of this journey. 😋🤣😆

Stanley Plaza’s Playground
Stanley Plaza Amphitheatre Playground or known as the Pirate ship Playground
Besides the market, beach and hike, an easy afternoon at Stanley could be just brunch and playground for kids to burn off energy.
I’d think it’s a tad too boring for kids age 5 and above though. More like a young children kind of playground if you asked. 2 covered slides which kids prefer climbing up more than sliding down 😅 some simple climbing nets, I would say it’s for beginners; and fireman’s pole.
Shaded: Not at play area but next to it is fully covered plaza square
Enclosed: No
Toilet and refreshments: Stanley Plaza with tons of eatery and coffee shops
Mommy : ⭐️
My Kids : ❤️

Hidden Gem of Hong Kong Island (Stanley)
Getting There - ✈️ to HK then Bus from Central, Hong Kong
Attractions - Blake Pier, Murray House, Stanley Market, Tin Hau Temple
Hotels - Stanley Oriental Hotel
Food & Restaurants - Toby Inn (Authentic Chinese)
Shopping - Stanley Market (ofcourse!)
There are two ways to enjoy Stanley!
No strings attached:
Be beach ready!
Get of at Stanley Bus Stop head off to the nearest convenience store grab some stuff for barbecue. Buy some toys for the kids. Don't forget the sunblock or maybe some cold beer.
Sit at the beach and relax. You can choose Stanley Bay at the end of Stanley Market or the Stanley Back Beach.
Stroll at the Stanley Harbour, visit Tin Hau temple and take the bus from Stanley Plaza on your way back. Maybe grab some pizza too 🍕...
Posh:
Be dinner date ready, stroll at the harbour all the way to Blake Pier. Have dinner at Murray House or the pubs at the harbour.
I highly recommend Toby Inn at Wong Ma Kok road just next to old Stanley Police Station (now Wellcome).
Don't forget to visit the pet-friendly Stanley market and haggle for some good finds.
Trivia: Murray House was a restored barracks moved brick by brick to Stanley. Yes it wasn't the original location.

Rhino Rock
We were at Stanley for staycation when we decided to go for the Rhino Rock Trail. It is a short but definitely adventurous hike. To get to the starting point which is located at Stanley Fort, we took the easy way, hop on a cab from Stanley market.
Once arrived at the Stanley Fort, look for the stairs next to the military gate. Climb up the stairs then follow the trails to Che Pau Teng, which would be the highest point (177m) of your hike. Bear in mind it’s quite a moderate amount of climbing uphill at the beginning, and then it’s all descending. My kids said the hardest part of this trail is definitely these stairs 😂 .
Which way to go next when you’re at Che Pau Teng? It’s the bushes on the right with entry point marked by ribbons. Then, things got interesting! Bushes brought us out to the other side of the hill, and there isn’t much points for recognition, the tracks are slippery too. So, be extra careful and pay attention to the ribbons.
There are different points to stop and admire the view. Stanley prison is right next to us with Tai Tam Bay at front, opposite is the country park where Dragon’s Back and Cape D’Aguilar trails located.
You know you are close to the Rhino when you are at these massive rocks area where you have to climb up and down, cutting through it. Soon after the rocks, you should be able to see the Rhino Rock on your left.
If you do plan on climbing up to the Rhino, just be careful, it’s a bit tricky going up and down.
Then, just return the same way you came , climbing back is way easier and faster.

Stanley Market in Hong Kong is a pretty westernized place. Most people in this area can speak English. If you want to buy something, make sure to bargain because they charge much higher for foreigners 😂 There are lots of nice artwork in the market 👍

Stanley market is situated at the south side of Hong Kong island. We took the Big Bus there and it takes about 45 minutes one way. They drop you off at a small modern mall but that isn’t the ACTUAL market. Walk along the water past the coffee shops and you’ll run into the real Stanley Market. It’s made up of small shops with lots of plastic junk toys but also unique clothing stores and souvenirs.

We love trip to the beach. So many activities could be done on the beach. Swimming, playing sand, playing ball, taning, just name what you like about. One of our favorite is Stanley Beach in Hong Kong. It also held dragon boat festival every year on June and brought a new experience in enjoying Stanley beach. #HalloTrip

Don't go to Shi'ao again! Hong Kong travel new places Stanley Network Red Yellow House & Super Beach
Who said that Hong Kong only shopping? In addition to Shijiao, which insults ins, there are still many places in Hong Kong where there are few people. The recommended for today is Stanley
Stanley is known as the back garden of Hong Kong, Little Europe, here There are not many tourists, most of them are foreigners and locals, plus the super beautiful sea view, giving people the feeling of being in a European seaside town!
-
You can directly navigate to Stanley Plaza and choose the most suitable transportation mode. Here are some ways for you to refer to:
From Central to Central Exchange Square At the bus terminal, take bus No. 6, 6A, 6X, 66 or 260 and get off at Stanley Plaza.
From Causeway Bay, go to Jardine's Street, take the green minibus No. 40 and get off at Stanley Plaza.
Depart from Tsim Sha Tsui, outside the Newport Centre on Canton Road, take bus no. 973 and get off at Stanley Plaza.
The above methods are all sitting in the Stanley Plaza and getting off the bus from Stanley Plaza to the lowest floor, then to Stanley Street.
-
Recommended route
Stanley Plaza-Mili House-Bugong Wharf-Stanley Street (Yellow House)-Stanley Market-Seaside
Next to the Column Square is the Murray House, the only remaining ancient European-style Victorian building in Hong Kong with H&M and some restaurants. The first floor corridors and stairs are perfect for taking retro photos.
Beside the Murray House, you can take a ride along the way.
Stanley Street
Stanley Street has a row of western-style bars and restaurants facing the sea. There are foreign feathers. The most attractive is the yellow house.
Stanley Market
Walk through Stanley Main Street, you can see a market, all kinds of small objects and costumes, but I strolled around and felt that the price was not cheap, everyone went shopping Just fine.
seaside
market is next to a sea with reefs, you can take pictures on the reef; go ahead, it is the beach, you can take pictures and swim, you can also see the beautiful sunset!

Limited space, if you have any questions, please leave a message below, I will reply.

There are too many people and cars on the street, and the bustling downtown is the night. Hong Kong, the first impression for everyone is always busy, bustling downtown. But in fact, as long as you leave the city, Hong Kong has another side that is unknown to everyone.
Stanley is one of my favorite Hong Kong Island short-selling destinations. It is not only rich in Western culture, but also able to relax and stay away from irritability. If you feel bored at night, you can walk around the coast, or go to a coastal restaurant for a beer, you can get a lot of release.

3D2N Hong Kong Bus and Hiking Route | Stanley Edition
Stanley: Stay near Jordan MTR Station, which is close to the high-speed rail station and convenient for going to Central. The following routes are all based on Jordan MTR Station as the center and the bus departure time is calculated, excluding the duration of the tour
Three-day and two-night arrangements for Stanley, Shek O, Hong Kong Island Central, just a triangle, equivalent to a tour around Hong Kong Island~Citybus is a double-decker bus, and the best viewing points on the way are all on the second floor~
Day1 Stanley Repulse Bay Half-day Tour, Sunny Day
Citybus 973, Jordan-Stanley Plaza, one-way 1.5h
973 is really yyds god-level bus, passing through the Western District Undersea Tunnel, almost stopping at various classic play areas around the peninsula, and you can see the mountains and the sea all the way on the right.
Depending on the time of the return journey, you can check in: Repulse Bay, Deep Water Bay, Pok Fu Lam Reservoir Road Station (you can walk up to the Peak for 2h, be careful, you can go to Bethany Church and close at 18:00)
The next one continues Shek O~
William21 Miller.

Early summer on Hong Kong Island/: Strolling by the seaside in Stanley
A very pleasant half-day~
Board a minibus at Causeway Bay🚐
Although the weather wasn't as expected
But I still captured a lot of beautiful scenery along the way🌳
-
Stanley's commercial facilities are quite complete
Grab a cup of coffee and take a leisurely walk by the sea, snapping photos
On one side are houses with high saturation🎨
On the other side is the clear sea
Very beautiful
-
Or go to the pier⛵️ to enjoy the sea breeze
Wait for the sunset over the sea
It's also a great place to space out
-
There are many foreigners on Stanley Main Street
Lots of cute dogs🦮🐩🐕🐕🦺
The atmosphere is very chill and pleasant~
—
✒️:
-Although the temperature isn't high
But the UV rays by the seaside still made it hard for me to open my eyes
Sun protection is very important!!!
-I recommend taking bus 40/40X from Causeway Bay
(You know the speed of Hong Kong minibuses! It's a quick ride to get there~

🚢About the History of Stanley🚢
👉🏻Stanley was once a sparsely populated fishing village🐟, with a huge kapok tree planted in the village🌳. When the kapok's red flowers bloomed, from afar, it looked like a red pillar🎋, hence the village was named 'Stanley'.
👉🏻Stanley has been one of the main settlements on Hong Kong Island since ancient times😜, and the important local chronicle of the Ming Dynasty, 'Yue Da Ji', already mentioned the place name of Stanley🎍.
👉🏻Today, Stanley has become a melting pot of Chinese and Western cultures✨. It has the popular Stanley Main Beach🌊, where dragon boat races are held every Dragon Boat Festival🛶. It also attracts many foreigners, and the architectural style is distinctive🎃.

Stanley Blake Pier is absolutely stunning | Teresa Teng's favorite harbor
| Teresa Teng's favorite harbor. It truly deserves to be Teresa Teng's beloved harbor🌊
The little town stories here are numerous and beautiful💕
Tired of touring the city in Hong Kong❓
Come to Hong Kong to see the sea❗❗❗
🥰The sea at Stanley is really too lovely
👀Standing on Blake Pier looking into the distance
Fishermen and local food vendors🐟
Sitting by the sea with straw hats🌴
💙Beneath your feet is the Tiffany blue glassy sea
So incredibly beautiful✨
You must visit Blake Pier when you come to Stanley🚢
This place is really photogenic🤳
✍🏻About Blake Pier✍🏻
👉🏻Blake Pier originally was Pedder Wharf, which was rebuilt into Blake Pier in 1900🎍. The early Blake Pier did not have a roof, and a temporary thatched shelter was added in 1903, but due to wear and tear, a steel canopy was imported from the UK in 1909, making it one of the early buildings in Hong Kong Island to use low-carbon steel structures.
👉🏻It wasn't until the opening of Queen's Pier in 1925 that Blake Pier gradually faded from the historical stage.
👉🏻Although Blake Pier was demolished in 1965, its roof was subsequently transferred to the open-air amphitheater in Morse Park🎈, and in 2006, the roof of Blake Pier was moved again next to the Murray House in Stanley, reinstalled on a newly built pier in the original style of Blake Pier🛶, named Stanley Blake Pier.
👉🏻Therefore, the Blake Pier we see now is not entirely the same as the one from the past.
🤳Photo Tips for Blake Pier🤳
👁️Blake Pier is square and precise
🌵Each window can be used to take neat symmetrical photos
But be careful❗❗❗
The railings here are not very high
Be careful not to fall into the sea🌊
🤳Photo Spots🤳
💚Take a portrait at the entrance of the pier's end, you can choose to shoot from behind🙈
💚The seats on both sides are very atmospheric, and it looks great to shoot from the back😘
💚You can also take some beautiful shots by the railings, wearing sunglasses and Thai pants😎
💚There are stairs on the left side of the entrance that lead down to the sea, there are no railings here, so be extra careful when taking photos🤔
The background here is simple and generous🌞
Facing the boundless sea🌊
Back against the Mediterranean-style buildings of Stanley🌵
The water is clear and transparent🏖️
It's really too photogenic💦

Hong Kong Local Tour | Stanley
Stanley has always been a historic attraction in Hong Kong, a hotspot that both locals and tourists from all over come to visit. On days when I'm not traveling, I often come here to unwind for a day, have a brunch date with friends at an outdoor restaurant, stroll through the weekend themed markets at Murray House, and before I know it, a day has passed as I take in the charming sunset seascape and inadvertently snap a lot of photos.
Pane e latte is a cafe I always visit, with many baked bread options!

Impressions of Stanley on Hong Kong Island's citywalk
Stanley, the English name for the area, is located at the southernmost tip of Hong Kong Island.
Many people first heard the name from the "Stanley Prison" in Hong Kong movies. In fact, Stanley was one of the first landing sites for the British military in Hong Kong and was once a military stronghold and administrative center for the British forces. Today, Stanley has become a famous tourist attraction on Hong Kong Island, with an exotic atmosphere. Walking through it is like strolling through a European city along the Mediterranean coast.
Stanley's famous attractions include;
Murray House (pictures 1—4), originally built in 1844, was relocated to Stanley from Admiralty in 1999. It was formerly a British military barracks and is now mainly a high-end Western restaurant.
Stanley Plaza (pictures 6—7), a shopping center and food court.
Pak Tai Temple Pier (pictures 11—14), moved here from Central.
Stanley Main Street (pictures 8, 9, 15), which is home to Western-style bars.
Tin Hau Temple (picture 16), said to be over 600 years old, is one of the oldest Tin Hau temples in Hong Kong.
In addition, there is the Stanley Market, which mainly sells small commodities, a museum converted from Stanley Prison, and Stanley Main Beach, where you can swim and play in the water.

Stanley Blake Pier|Peninsula Market
Peninsula Market. Mentioning Stanley in Hong Kong, many people will think of the famous 'Stanley Prison', also known as the Big Temple. Originally, this was a British military base, the center of Hong Kong Island.
🐟
Stanley Blake Pier area, now a famous tourist check-in spot, is not visited by everyone who comes to Hong Kong, so it's relatively less crowded here. During the day, you can enjoy the glassy sea, and at night 🏙 have a drink at the seaside bars, very comfortable.
🐟
The Murray Building was originally in Central and was later relocated here.
🍺
Nearby malls 🏬 also have fast food and coffee ☕.

If you have time, I would recommend you do a day trip to Stanley Market because it is less crowded and a lot of picturesque place. Stanley Market is one of the must go places in Hong Kong. Stanley Market is a typical example of a traditional old open air market in Hong Kong.
There are a lot of eateries and cafes along the seaside. You can enjoy your meal with a sea view. After your meal, I’ll suggest you to have a walk around to enjoy the view. There’s a walking path for you to explore the garden and sea.
You need to take bus (6, 6A, 6X, 66 or 260) from Exchange Square bus terminal in Central to Stanley. Be aware of the ride as the road to Stanley is quite winding.
I want to travel to Hong Kong to explore more in Hong Kong.
