Where to See Jacarandas in Sydney
Sydney's spring is painted in shades of blue and purple: every year, when the jacaranda season arrives, the streets and alleys of Sydney are adorned with these colors, creating an impression of purple rain.
The jacaranda season in Sydney typically occurs from late October to November. Here are some delightful spots to enjoy the blooms:
👉 Eastern Suburbs
📍: Oxford Street, Paddington A famous street in Sydney's eastern suburbs, where jacarandas create a purple canopy, perfect for a leisurely stroll and photography.
👉 North Shore
📍: Kirribilli The jacaranda trees here grow tall, forming a floral archway that creates a fairytale-like scene.
👉 Sydney Harbour
📍: Circular Quay and the Rocks The purple flowers add a fresh spring touch to Sydney's iconic landmarks.
📍: Royal Botanic Gardens Home to some of Sydney's oldest jacaranda trees, offering a dual experience of floral beauty and harbor views.
👉 Inner West
📍: Sydney University The campus is famous for its 88-year-old jacaranda tree, continuing its beautiful legacy.
👉 North Coast Lane Cove
📍: Grafton Located north of Sydney, this town hosts a jacaranda festival every year, blending rustic charm with floral beauty.
👉 South-West Sydney
📍: Camden
📸 Photography Tips:
1⃣ Timing: Shoot an hour after sunrise or before sunset for a dreamy effect.
2⃣ Lighting: Backlighting can make petals appear translucent, while side lighting enhances their three-dimensionality.
3⃣ Low Angle: Shoot from a low angle to emphasize the blooms.
4⃣ Simple Background: Use the sky or historic buildings as a backdrop to make jacarandas the focal point.
5⃣ Details: Capture fallen petals or interesting details to add a narrative to your photos.

The oldest, most cosmopolitan city of Sydney, Australia received over 13 million visitors in total last year, and is chock full of world-class attractions.
A week is plenty time to explore this major city— if only to scratch the surface.

Wow! It's so nice to admire the city landmarks on a Sydney Harbour cruise!
Sydney Harbour, one of the most beautiful natural harbours in the world, is a must-visit place in Sydney, Australia. There are many large and small harbours around the city, and sightseeing by boat should be the most enjoyable way.
There are various types of boats, including cruise ships, yachts, ferries, etc., and the shipping companies will be different, as long as you take a boat, it's OK. I took a large cruise ship, arrived at Lingang from Circular Quay, and enjoyed a three-course dinner on the boat. In the twilight and the sea breeze, I visited the landmark buildings and scenery along the coast of Sydney, which was so nice!
Features and highlights:
1 When the most famous landmark building in Sydney, the Sydney Opera House, appeared in front of my eyes, it was very amazing, like two huge white sailboats sailing on the sea. It is not only the palace of Sydney's art and culture, but also the soul of Sydney, and it is recognized as one of the top ten wonders of the 20th century in the world;
2 Then the Harbour Bridge came, like a long rainbow across the bay, towering and handsome, majestic; the sea under the bridge was golden, brilliant; the all-steel structure was full of industrial age, and it was facing the Sydney Opera House across the sea, becoming a symbol of Sydney;
3 You can also see many people standing on the top of the Harbour Bridge. This is climbing the bridge (for a fee). Looking at the Sydney Opera House from a height of 147 meters above the water, the unique perspective is an excellent place to shoot a panoramic view of the port;
4 On the calm sea, in addition to sailboats, cruise ships, speedboats, there are also warships coming and going, becoming a beautiful landscape;
5 The cruise ship passes around Sydney Harbour, you can visit the national parks along the coast, World Heritage sites, and rich indigenous cultural heritage, etc.
6 The boat ride is about 90 minutes, including meals (there are also meals not included).
Boat location: Circular Quay, please arrive 10 minutes before departure;
Price: about CNY 265/person
Transportation: Bus 333, 380, 389, 392, 394, 396, 397, 399, 890, 311, 422, 423, 426, 428 can be reached.

Top Vantage Points: Sydney Harbour Bridge 📸
I spent a few days in Sydney and I loved it! The Harbour Bridge is one of the main attractions and I really enjoyed traveling to different locations around the city to photograph it against different backdrops. Here were my favorite locations:
1️⃣ Observatory Hill Rotunda - In my opinion this is the best viewpoint in Sydney! The best part is that it is walking distance to the Sydney CBD!
2️⃣ Blues Point Reserve - Another good viewpoint but you’ll need to take public transport. Take either the T1 or T9 train 🚇 to North Sydney and then walk for about 20 minutes down Blue Points Road. Or you can take the ferry ⛴️ from Circular Quay to McMahon’s Point!
3️⃣ Mrs Macquaries Point - Another popular spot near Sydney’s Botanical Gardens 🪴 After soaking up the skyline it’s a nice place to take a walk and admire the variety of trees and flowers on display!
4️⃣ Sydney Harbor Bridge - The walk across the bridge is worth it. Take some really cool pictures of the bridge as well as the city below.
Have fun exploring Sydney! 📸

Vivid Sydney!
The Sydney Harbor is beautiful day and night, but during Vivid, it's extraordinary! The colorful lights on the Opera House and all around downtown are stunning! Viewing from a sunset or night time cruise is a great way to see them. For us, being on the water during the presentation was a great addition to our trip! #vividsydney #australia #dinnercruise
