3.2 Macau live scene, so overwhelming...
🌆 Macau Guide | The perfect blend of Portuguese charm and dazzling neon lights, enjoy 24 hours in the "Romantic City of the East"!
📍 Popular Attractions
1️⃣ Ruins of St. Paul's: Macau's landmark! 🏛️ Take photos of the "ruined wall" against the blue sky during the day, and enjoy the dreamy light show at night. The pink houses in Love Lane nearby are great for photos💕, and you can also check in at the Nezha Temple nearby~
2️⃣ The Venetian Macao Resort: The man-made "Water City"! 🚣 Ride a gondola on the indoor canals, look up to see blue sky and white cloud murals, shop until your legs are tired (big brands are 10%-30% cheaper than mainland China!), and enjoy plenty of food courts🍽️.
3️⃣ The Parisian Macao Eiffel Tower: Mini Eiffel! 🗼 The 7th-floor observation deck offers a night view, and when the lights come on, it feels like stepping into a fairy tale. The lawn under the tower is perfect for silhouette photos, and there’s a music and light show on weekends🎶.
4️⃣ Hac Sa Beach: Dark romantic vibes! 🌊 Watch the sunset in the evening, the sand is fine and black, the grilled squid at the nearby BBQ stalls smells amazing, and you can also try beach motorbikes🏍️.
5️⃣ Fisherman’s Wharf: Ancient Roman style! 🏛️ Modeled after the Roman Colosseum, wearing a long dress here makes for a great atmosphere in photos. Watching the sunset by the sea in the evening is very healing~
🚗 Transportation Guide
✈️ Plane: Direct flights to Macau International Airport (or Zhuhai Jinwan Airport, then take a bus/boat to Macau).
🚢 Ferry: Take a ferry from Hong Kong/Shenzhen Shekou (1 hour, 140-200 RMB), book tickets in advance via the "China Merchants Shekou Cruise Homeport" WeChat official account.
🚌 Free shuttle buses: Available at major hotels/complexes (commonly called "Fortune Buses"), covering main attractions, saving taxi fares! 🚌
🚕 Taxi: Starting fare is 19 MOP, but attractions are close to each other, so walking plus fortune bus combo is recommended~
🏨 Accommodation Recommendations
🔸 Luxury resort style: The Venetian / The Parisian (suites big enough to run in, includes gondola tickets, indoor pool, and kids’ playground, perfect for family trips 👨👩👧).
🔸 Cost-effective choice: Macau L'Hotel Causeway Bay (vintage Portuguese style, sea view rooms from 200+ MOP, walking distance to Fisherman’s Wharf, convenience store downstairs🏪).
🔸 Old town charm: Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 (facing Ruins of St. Paul’s, souvenir street downstairs, very convenient for night strolls and snacks, rooms overlook historic district🌃).
🍜 Authentic Food
🥟 Pork Chop Bun: Dali Lai Kee’s curry pork chop bun! 🐷 Crispy outside, thick and juicy pork chop, 15 MOP fills you up, paired with iced lemon tea to cut the grease🍋.
🍜 Crab Congee: Must order at Cheng Chang Restaurant! 🦀 Congee made with crab roe, incredibly fresh, small portion 60 MOP enough for two, smooth congee base with lots of crab meat~
🥚 Mango Pudding: Andrew’s Bakery original! 🍮 Layers of crushed cookies and cream, melts in your mouth after chilling, more addictive than egg tarts, also available boxed as souvenirs🎁.
🍢 Street Beef Offal: Jin Hua Beef Offal cart! 🐂 Beef tripe and intestines stewed until tender, topped with secret sauce, 30 MOP per bowl very satisfying, add radish for extra flavor~
🍡 Durian Ice Cream: “Mo Yi Ji” on Guan Ye Street! 🍦 Musang King durian pulp base, rich milky flavor, 35 MOP per stick a bit pricey but worth it!
⚠️ Pitfall Tips
❗ Don’t exchange money at the airport! Poor rates, bring a small amount of cash (500 MOP is enough), most places accept Alipay/WeChat (better rates), some small shops only take cash so prepare change💵.
❗ Don’t buy souvenirs at tourist spots! 🛍️ Ju Kee / Heong Kee dried meat have more stores in the old town, prices are 10% cheaper than near Ruins of St. Paul’s, almond cookies and phoenix rolls are better deals~
❗ Shared power banks are hard to find! 🔋 Bring your own power bank, rental points at attractions/malls are few and expensive (5 MOP/hour), some hotel front desks lend but require a deposit.
❗ Use Google Maps for navigation! 🗺️ Macau has many alleys, Baidu/AutoNavi sometimes inaccurate, download offline maps in advance to avoid getting lost~
🌃 Tips: Want to see Macau’s night view? Take the free cable car at Wynn Palace 🚡, the light show after 8 PM is stunning, and you can overlook the musical fountain! Weekends are very crowded, weekdays are recommended for shorter lines~ 🎆
