Best Photo Spot for Views of Taipei 101 🏙️
📍 Songren Road, Taipei
The best photo spot for capturing Taipei 101 can be found tucked away in a small alley off Songren Road. This hidden gem offers a unique perspective of the iconic skyscraper, framed beautifully by the surrounding buildings. As I ventured down the alley, I was delighted by the tranquil atmosphere, contrasting with the bustling city nearby. The angle here showcases Taipei 101 in all its glory, especially during sunset when the sky paints a stunning backdrop. This quiet spot is perfect for capturing memorable photos away from the crowds, making it a must-visit for photography enthusiasts!

Taipei 101 Countdown Fireworks
We went to Taiwan specifically to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks display at Taipei 101. This event is an absolute must-see for New Year's celebrations in Taipei, and even in all of Taiwan. The best part is that because of the towering height of the 101 building, you can see the fireworks from surrounding areas even if you're not at the City Hall. Everywhere you go, you can find people counting down and sharing the joy of the New Year together.
Two hours before midnight, we arrived near the building. There were already many people enjoying food from the stalls set up nearby. In addition to the fireworks display, there were also light effects that made the entire performance more lively. Performances by many famous singers made the New Year's Eve event even more exciting. The area near the stage was indeed very crowded, but if you just want to see the fireworks, you can avoid the area near the stage, as there are still great views of the fireworks from less crowded areas around.
Overall, the stunning and creative visual effects of Taipei 101 are truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Fun one day trip around Taipei city
1.
Chiang Kai Shek Memorial
Getting there - This is easily accessible by Metro as it is right outside the metro.
Highlights - This is a huge area with the memorial, peace arch, parks and national theatres. The memorial itself is a huge complex with interesting exhibitions below and statue on top level. Overall, very good chance to learn about Chiang Kai Shek and Taiwan history
Tips - You can go earlier in the morning as exhibitions opens at 9am but remember your sunscreen and umbrella.
2.
Taipei 101
Highlights - Tall and iconic skyscraper of Taiwan that has many luxury shops inside the building. There are also many souvenir shops like Sunny Hills etc inside for gift shopping.
Tips - You can also go to the nearby park near the city hall to have a full view picture with Taipei 101 and the rainbow.
3.
Ximending
Getting there - You can take Metro to nearest Ximen station.
Highlights - Fun and vibrant shopping district from day to night. There are so much food and souvenir shops here. Don't forget to try the famous Ay Chung Rice Noodles and Xing Fu Tang's brown sugar milk. Options are endless here.
Tips - Do visit the red house at Ximen which is a historic and photogenic building with crafts market and coffee house inside.
4.
Raohe Night Market
Getting there - Can reach there by Metro and then walking.
Highlights - This is the best night market in Taipei in my personal opinion. The variety of food is great there and it's a huge night market. Many michelin bib recommended food like the pepper meat pancake, Yipinyuan rice balls to name a few. Highly recommended if you love street food.

508 meters tall! The tallest in Taiwan Province - Taipei 101
Taipei 101 was designed by C.Y. Lee. From a high vantage point, its bucket-like design facilitates indoor viewing of the outside world. Every eight floors form a bucket, each bucket forms a section, and each section serves as a structural unit. Taipei 101 connects bucket by bucket, reaching towards the sky. Like bamboo growing segment by segment, it symbolizes continuous progress and business prosperity. In the East, the display of height and width emphasizes the extension of unit numbers rather than the volume expansion commonly used in the West.
Its vertical layout stacks layer upon layer like a pagoda, extending upwards; the horizontal spread is akin to the interconnected courtyards of the Forbidden City in Beijing, advancing layer by layer, all reflecting the building's size through the increase or decrease of unit numbers. The use of symbols and totems aims to convey complete information. Therefore, symbols like the Ruyi and dragon-phoenix totems are cleverly integrated into the architecture. For example, the roofs of the shopping malls are designed with Ruyi phoenix tails, symbolizing good fortune; auspicious dragons are placed at the sharp corners of buildings to ward off bad energy. On the 24th and 27th floors, circular and square patterns are used as mortise and tenon joints, symbolizing the operation of the universe - 'the circle represents the sky, as the body; the square represents the earth, as the function.' This design uses traditional wooden structure mortise and tenon methods to connect the upper eight buckets and the lower three buckets, highlighting the building's stability. All these are clever uses of information, aiming to convey a sense of completeness.

📍Taipei City, Taiwan
Visited Taipei this year and this is one of the best trip ever! We visited some of the iconic spots that one shouldn’t miss while travelling there which are the Taipei 101 Tower and the famous shopping district, Xi Men Ding! We walked over to Taipei City Hall to have a full glimpse of Taipei 101, which stood up tall and lighted the Taipei City skyline at night! Impressive and mesmerising! Great place to revisit multiple times!

Taipei 101 (Chinese: 台北101; pinyin: Táiběi 101; stylized in all caps),[1] formerly known as the Taipei World Financial Center, is a skyscraper in Taipei, Taiwan. It is owned by Taipei Financial Center Corporation. The building was officially classified as the world's tallest from its opening on 31 December 2004 (in time to celebrate New Year's Eve). However, the Burj Khalifa surpassed Taipei 101 in 2010. Upon completion, it became the world's first skyscraper to exceed a height of half a kilometer (about 0.3 miles). 4 Locations to Take Pictures of Taipei 101 🇹🇼
Of course, when you come to Taiwan, how can you miss taking pictures with Taipei 101?
The 4 locations we have listed are as follows:
1️⃣ Sisinan Village Museum, the first military village in Taiwan, which has now become a photo spot with Taipei 101. We recommend coming around 3-4 p.m. on a clear day, the light will be beautiful.
This spot is a grassy hill where you can sit and relax. It is also another photo spot that everyone who comes here must not miss.
📍Location https://goo.gl/maps/6iEYty7r3XiBdmMe8
🚆MRT Taipei 101 Station Exit 4
2️⃣ Tao Zhu Yin Yuan Building with Taipei 101 in the background
Actually, this building only has one side. If you want a picture that is parallel on both sides like this, you have to flip the picture in Photoshop again.
This point is on the side of the road. Most people like to take pictures at night after the Taipei 101 and Tao Zhu Yin Yuan buildings start to turn on their lights.
📍Coordinates https://goo.gl/maps/TdF2193uwHNfTMmn7
🚆MRT Taipei City Hall Station Exit 3
3️⃣ Another corner of Sisinan Village Museum, the first military village in Taiwan. This corner is in the old village area. It has an ancient feel in contrast to the background of the Taipei 101 building.
In this old village area, there are shops selling things and cafes selling various snacks.
📍Coordinates https://goo.gl/maps/6iEYty7r3XiBdmMe8
🚆MRT Taipei 101 Station Exit 4
4️⃣ The last point, this point is a small alley that has a slightly artistic feel. Taking pictures will make it look classic and give a different feeling. With the old buildings on both sides plus the Taipei 101 building standing out in front, this is another spot that we really like.
To get here, just pin it to Takemura Izakaya, which is the red lantern shop on the right in the picture.

🌃Tour recommendations
🔸Indoor observation deck on the 89th floor: Through the floor-to-ceiling glass, you can enjoy a 360° panoramic view of Taipei city, overlooking Xiangshan and Songshan Airport. There are also many shooting devices specially arranged to check in for tourists.
🔸Outdoor observation deck on the 91st floor: Take the elevator to reach the open-air rooftop on the higher floor for unobstructed viewing. However, the wind on the terrace is relatively strong, so be careful to keep warm.
🔸High-speed elevator: It only takes 37 seconds to take the elevator from the 5th floor to the 89th floor. It is like traveling through a time and space tunnel. You can reach the 89th floor in an instant. You still feel a little tinnitus during the ride.
🔸Taipei 101 is a collection of offices, shopping, and observation decks. Except for the observation decks above 89, which require tickets, the rest are free.
🔸New Year’s Eve Fireworks: Every year during the New Year’s Eve countdown, the entire Taipei 101 building explodes with colorful fireworks. The scene is shocking and romantic, welcoming the new year with the citizens.
🔸Visiting time: It is recommended to arrive at 101 between 4 and 5 o'clock in the evening, so that you can not only see Taipei's sunset city view, but also enjoy the night lights.

Take you to visit Taipei 101😍😍
🌠101 is a landmark building in Taipei, and going to 101 to watch the fireworks has become a fixed program for young people during New Year's Eve.
🌠101 is located in Taipei's busiest Xinyi District, in fact, you don't need to look for it, just lift your head and you'll see it...
👁Safety checks are required to go up to the observatory, the elevator ascends very quickly, and remember to swallow when your ears ring.
👀From the observatory, you can have a 360-degree panoramic view of the entire Taipei city, which is a basin surrounded by densely packed urban areas and mountains.
🕋On the observatory, accompanied by the Taipei sky, there are many internet-famous photo spots, and there are also many Taipei and 101 souvenirs to buy.
👣101 itself is a large shopping mall, after visiting the observatory, you can come down and shop for a long time.

Tallest building in Taipei
Taipei 101, the world's second tallest building, is Taiwan's most recognizable landmark today. It was the tallest building in the world for six years (2004-2010), until Dubai's Burj Khalifa opened. Although the record has been broken, Taipei 101 continues to take visitors to new heights.
The first thing Taipei 101 reminded me of was a stack of Chinese take-out boxes (Chao fan boxes?). It even appeared to have a chopstick protruding from its roof to me. But that's just one of the numerous pictures it conjures up in people's minds. One of the tower's many symbolisms is its eight sections, each with eight storeys.
And, as you may have guessed, the number eight is considered a very lucky number in many Chinese cultures.

Terrific Taiwan!
Taiwan definitely caught me by a surprise. Although I won’t necessarily recommend coming during summer cause of the incredible heat, it definitely still caught me by surprise.
Rather unassuming but if you took the time to go to the lesser know areas, you will get to experience the more authentic side of Taiwan. Food is great even as a someone who follows a halal diet and many Muslim friendly meals can be found.
Definitely rich in nature and culture and sure is somewhere I will visit more frequently. 5 days was definitely not enough! #travel #taipei #taiwan

Taipei 101✨
I had an amazing experience visiting Taipei 101 during my travels. At the top, I was greeted by breathtaking panoramic views of Taipei. The city spread out beneath me, a vibrant mix of modern buildings, bustling streets, and beautiful parks.
Exploring the observation deck, I learned about Taipei 101's innovative design and engineering marvels, like the damper system that stabilizes the building during earthquakes. It was fascinating to see how technology and design could create such a remarkable structure.

Taipei 101 and Surrounding
A visit to Taipei would not be complete without a visit to Taipei 101. As it soars above the city, Taipei 101 is hard to miss from anywhere in the city.
Seeing it up close, it is even more majestic and inspiring. The surrounding area is the glitzy and ultra modern Xinyi district where high end malls and international food brands galore.
Look closer and you’ll find more interesting things like the cherry blossom I saw at this random office building. Near 101 is also a former dependent village that has been conserved and is now a tourist attraction and sells creative goods and has a couple of cafes. The juxtaposition between the past and the present cannot be greater than here. A must visit!

Iconic skyscraper in Taipei
Taipei 101 is a supertall skyscraper in Taipei and was the world’s tallest skyscraper from 2004 to 2009 before Burk Khalifa in Dubai was completed.
There is an observation deck on the top floor. However, do check the weather forecast as it can get very cloudy in Taipei and the you may not be able to have a clear view of the surrounding. It is also a shopping centre where you can get souvenirs or simply dine in at Din Tai Fung.

The sky of Taipei has gained layers and angles because of Taipei 101!
Coming to Taipei, I'm really looking forward to going up to the top floor to enjoy the night view!
1️⃣Scenic spot 1: 89th floor of 101 building.
Bought the summit ticket directly in the lobby on the 2nd floor, later found that the prices on many agent platforms were cheaper, so everyone can compare before purchasing.
Apart from enjoying the night view, upstairs there is the world's largest and heaviest wind damper ball, which is also the world's first wind damper open to visitors for viewing. It is one of the important structures for wind resistance and earthquake resistance of the building! It looks quite impressive on site!
2️⃣Scenic spot 2: Xiangshan
Actually, the most beautiful night view of Taipei is not on the top of the 101 building, because you can't see the building itself. Besides, Taipei doesn't have many tall buildings, and just looking at the flat city itself is not very attractive!
So come to Xiangshan, where you can not only see most of Taipei's urban landscape, but also admire the magnificence of 101. Come here to enjoy the night view, and you definitely won't "step on a mine"!
Xiangshan Trail, with only one entrance, is about a 10-minute walk from the subway station.
We recommend everyone to come around 5:30 pm, where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset and then capture the most beautiful view of Taipei 101 during the blue hour.
Due to the thick clouds that day, we couldn't see the sunset, but the night view was clear and refreshing. There was still a hint of pink in the sky, which was enough!
💃In fact, walking in the center of Taipei, no matter from which angle, you will always see 101! Coming down from Xiangshan and arriving at Xinyi Shopping District, looking up at 101 is even more beautiful!

Sky view from Taipei 101
Had the opportunity to go up #taipei101 and dine in the clouds, visited one of the offices as a guest and had a great time!
Taiwan is finally open after the COVID pandemic and would-be visitors will be happy to know that Taipei hasn't changed much post COVID, with the sights and attractions still the same and familiar dishes such as stinky tofu and Taiwanese fish tempura still in abundance in night markets around the city.
Will definitely be back :)
