[2025 Taipei Attraction] Travel Guide for Taipei Zoo (Updated Jan)

I went to trip.Best to see what popular places to visit in Taipei, and saw that the Taipei Municipal Zoo ranked first among parent-child attractions. So I checked on trip.com to see if there were any tickets to buy, and finally chose a package, which cost about more than 80 yuan per person and included a zoo admission ticket, a one-day ticket for the Maokong Cable Car, and a one-way ticket for the sightseeing bus in the zoo. First, take the MRT Wenhu Line to the Zoo Station Terminal, and then take the cable car from the Zoo Station to the Maokong Terminal. It’s a really long ride. The cable car is very quiet, and it’s very comfortable to sit on. It won’t shake, and you can enjoy the view. The entire Taipei Basin. The only drawback is that the glass windows in the carriage seem to have not been cleaned for a long time, so the view feels a bit blurry. After stopping at Maokong Terminal for a while, we took the cable car back to the Zoo South Station to enter the zoo. After arriving at the animals, we first took the small train sightseeing bus up and then walked down from the top so as not to be exhausted. After getting off the bus at the station, we started to walk around the entire zoo from top to bottom. The park is very large, and the stay is about 2-3 hours. Walk slowly and look at the animals. Now you don’t need to queue up to see the animals. There are relatively few shaded areas, so be prepared to replenish water. There are many drinking fountains in the park. The planning and resting spaces in each area of ​​the garden are very comfortable. The bird garden is very large and worth seeing. There are flamingos, American wood ducks and black-necked swans. If you are afraid of the heat, the Penguin Pavilion is a great place to cool down and have seats to rest; there are also white rhinos, black bears, and elephants nearby... The Amphibian and Reptile Museum is really great. There are rich and diverse reptile species. As soon as you enter the door, there is a giant snapping turtle on the right. It looks fierce and has a strong bite. It is one of the largest freshwater turtles in the world. There are many snakes, frogs, turtles, Tuatara, chameleon, and crocodile. The last one near the exit is the focus of the entire zoo, the Cat and Panda House. There is a panda restaurant selling souvenirs on the second floor. 🐼The outdoor area is well planned, and many moving routes are equipped with barrier-free ramps, making it easy to reach various areas. 🐼The admission fee is extremely cheap, and it is very convenient to buy tickets on site, whether it is cash, credit card or Easy Card. The park is clean, with parent-child toilets and breastfeeding rooms everywhere. There are also many shops where you can buy food. The Taipei Zoo is next to Maokong Gondola, so we visited both in one afternoon and used our easy card to enter. The zoo is very large and we spent three hours there and still did not see everything. For all animals lovers, Taipei Zoo is a must visit if you happen to be in Taiwan. The zoo is easily accessible by their MRT. The entrance fee is very reasonable even for Foreigners unlike in Singapore. As the weather is relative cold, the animals are pretty active and you will not smell foul as usual in a typical zoo. My kids really enjoyed the trip and we had decided that every Taiwan trip, this zoo is a must visit! Enjoyed!!

Specialty of this zoo is it has educational facility for the young ones. In addition it also have displayed on how people extract water from underground. There is one area where domestic animals can roam around . Can see duckling and ducks wade around in a line. I called this trained ducks . The panda I believe is the main feature . I enjoyed the greenery and free carbon. Taiwan is very supportive of recycling hence can find recycling bins every where. Note that for boxed drink. I learned that you need to flatten it every time you want to dispose.

When in Taipei Zoo, where was known as the largest zoon in Asia. There was a great variety of animals. Adminission is surprisingly cheap which costs $60 NT for Adults, with this we couldn’t complain much. A great trip for family with children. #happynewyear

Taipei Zoo is very huge with many animals from different country, it took us more than 3 hours to completely travelling around the whole Zoo. There are also variety of food inside including Mcdonalds and some local food. A train inside the Zoo can fetch you to the last station where the penguin is, we hop on to the train after visiting Panda’s house, then walk from the last station back towards the entrance/exit. The trip to Taipei zoo was really awesome, never expect to pay a few bucks, but we could experience a lot animals. TBH, those animals are well taken care of and they are look stressed free.

Day 1: For the first stop in Taipei, I chose the Taipei Zoo, full of childlike wonder and natural vibes. Early in the morning, I took the MRT to Muzha Station and walked to the zoo following the signs. Fresh air and children's laughter greeted me. The zoo is well-divided into different areas. I first visited the 'Asian Tropical Rainforest Area,' where I saw the elegant Bengal tiger and the adorable Malayan bear. Then, I strolled to the 'Australian Area,' where the lazy kangaroos and koalas brought a smile to my face. Of course, a visit to Taipei Zoo wouldn't be complete without seeing the 'Giant Panda House.' The chubby pandas leisurely munching on bamboo attracted countless visitors. I spent my midday here, buying an animal-shaped dessert to add some fun to this animal journey. In the afternoon, I took the Maokong Gondola, overlooking the entire zoo and the Taipei Basin from above. The lush greenery was refreshing. Upon arriving at Maokong, I chose a teahouse to enjoy some tea. The mountain breeze and tea aroma were relaxing. In the evening, I returned to the city and went to the Xiangshan Hiking Trail. Climbing up the steps, I watched the sunset cast a golden glow on the glass exterior of Taipei 101, as if gilding the city. Day 2: A new day began with exploring Taipei's cultural landmarks. Early in the morning, I visited the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. The grand architecture and solemn atmosphere showcased Taipei's rich history. After watching the flag-raising ceremony, I strolled through the surrounding park, enjoying the view of Taipei 101, making the cultural journey complete. Next, I went to Huashan 1914 Creative Park to see a photography exhibition themed around nature and animals. Each piece in the exhibition made me rethink our relationship with nature. In the afternoon, I chose to relax in Daan Forest Park, an urban oasis. Walking through the park, listening to birdsong, and watching children run on the grass echoed the innocence of the zoo. In the evening, I headed to Tonghua Night Market, ending my trip with some salt and pepper chicken and bubble tea. In these two days, I saw Taipei's vibrant yet nature-friendly side. Hey everyone! Did you know that there are no koalas in any of the zoos in Korea?! 🐨 That's why I went to the Taipei Zoo in Taiwan to see koalas! They have a lot of pandas and koalas there ❤️❤️ They were smaller and cuter than I expected, and my heart was pounding with excitement! This might be the only place you can see koalas on a short flight from Korea! 👍👍 The entrance fee was really cheap, and you don't need to book in advance. You can just go and use the kiosk at the entrance to get your ticket 🔥 I highly recommend visiting the Taipei Zoo in Taiwan to see the koalas that you can't see in Korea! 🐨⭐️

We have been to the Taipei Zoo on July2024. It’s quite hot during the summer time, however, there are a different kinds of animals here and it may take you a day to spend! It’s a very nice experience.

Taipei Zoo ticket only TWD100 for adult and you will see wild animals which live as nature not in the case. There are lot of wild animals and marine life. Also toilet and ice cream shop and drinks at the stop points. I very recommended #taipeizoo

Taiwan is definitely a family friendly place to visit with a toddler. The mrt stations are clean, always with a toilet or family room for convenience. You can bring the elderly and children easily as everywhere is easily accessible. From the zoo to Tamshui district on the other end of the city, it was a long ride on the train no doubt but your destination is always near the station itself. There is also a tram service within the zoo so you can take the tram with your family so you don’t have to walk the whole distance. Tamshui was a peaceful and pleasant town to visit while seeing the sun set. We will be back again Taiwan🥹🥹🥹 #familytrips2024
