Taizhou Spring Citywalk | This is the real Taizhou.
| This is the real Taizhou. 🏮 Walking along Taizhou Old Street is like opening a door to history 🚪. This old street lies quietly in the bustling city, like an old man who has experienced the vicissitudes of life, telling the story of past glories and changes.
Strolling along this ancient street is like traveling back in time to a bygone era. 👣 Every step is a step in history, a chance to feel the tranquility of the past. 🍂
The shops on both sides of the street and the ancient buildings make me feel like I'm in an ancient commercial district.
🏮 The wooden doors and windows and the bluestone roads all exude a simple and elegant atmosphere. The shops sell traditional handicrafts, snacks, antiques, calligraphy, and paintings, each of which embodies the hard work and wisdom of the craftsmen. 🎨
I especially like the handicrafts, which are exquisite and unique, as if they carry beautiful stories.
💖 The snacks are mouthwatering, and every bite is a reminder of traditional flavors. 🍝
When I'm tired, I find a small shop on the street, sit down, and enjoy a cup of fragrant tea while listening to the whispers of the old street. The tranquility and comfort make me forget the hustle and bustle of the city.
Taizhou Old Street is a place where people can relax and nourish their souls. 💖

Taizhou Old Street | This is the real Taizhou.
🌻 Taizhou Old Street has a history of more than 300 years. It is a historical corridor of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Walk through traditional buildings such as ancient temples and academies, taste traditional snacks, experience intangible cultural heritage activities such as embroidery, paper cutting, and clay figurines, and feel the most authentic taste of Taizhou.
🍜 Try authentic snacks
🧇️ Huangqiao Sesame Cake: Chen Dashuai Huangqiao Sesame Cake/Cai's Old Store
This snack is named after Huangqiao Town in Taixing, Taizhou. It became famous because of the Battle of Huangqiao in 1940.
The "Dragon and Tiger Fight" sesame cake is special. The filling is made of sugar, onion, and oil, which makes it taste sweet and salty.
🥞 Caolu Sesame Cake: Caolu Sesame Cake Store
Like Huangqiao sesame cake, it is available in radish, sugar, onion oil, shepherd's purse, and dragon and tiger fight flavors.
🦐 Qinhu Eight Delicacies: Qinhu Eight Delicacies Restaurant/Pi Wu Taizhou Cuisine Qinhu Eight Delicacies/Old Taizhou Taizhou Cuisine Qinhu Eight Delicacies
Restaurants that make Qinhu Eight Delicacies are concentrated on the old street. The taste is similar, but the freshness of the ingredients is the key. They can be served in white or red sauce.
☕ Drink morning tea
The old street is also home to three authentic Taizhou morning tea shops: Guyue Building and Haitangchun. You can taste traditional Taizhou delicacies such as hot dried tofu, fish soup noodles, crab roe buns, rice grass buns, shrimp dumplings, and shumai.

Taizhou: Zimo Hotel
🏘️Old Street Scenic Area, superior geographical location, good hotel environment, and various attractions for eating, drinking, and entertainment around. Hotel price: 200-300
The hotel name has some connotation, 'Zi' means night, and 'Zimo' has a kind of light in the silence. The store's color matching is quite tasteful. The outer old street has a classical style, and the interior decoration of the lobby has a part of Nordic style, giving a sense of purity and comfort. The combination of inside and outside gives a mixed feeling.
The bathroom and shower room are separate, but the glass is quite transparent, more suitable for couples.
At night, looking at the scenery by the window or taking photos feels like traveling through time.
In the morning, you can go to the scenic area for morning tea, experience Taizhou's water-wrapped breakfast culture, then check in at Taoyuan and Old Street, and take a stroll around Fengcheng River Scenic Area behind the hotel in the evening.

A one-day round trip from Shanghai to Taizhou, Jiangsu
A solo one-day round trip from Shanghai to Taizhou, Jiangsu, to have morning tea in Taizhou, stroll through the old streets, and experience the leisurely life of the romantic water city.
Today's high-speed train at 6 o'clock, it takes two hours, and arrives in Taizhou at 8 o'clock.
Of course, coming to Taizhou requires a local morning tea to start a beautiful day. From Route 168, go to the morning tea house for breakfast. At 9 o'clock in the morning, the tea house is full of people inside and outside. I ordered the morning tea trio: soup with dried tofu shreds, fish soup, and crab roe bun. The dried tofu shreds are delicate and tender, the crab roe bun is filled with fresh meat, with thin skin and plenty of filling. One bite is fresh, sweet, and bouncy, savory but not greasy. A sip of fish soup is truly satisfying.
After eating and drinking, walk about a kilometer to visit Qiaoyuan, a garden with a hundred years of history. Book tickets in advance. The garden includes a mausoleum, large bamboo groves, rock caves, pavilions, small ponds, and the entire garden is small and exquisite yet grand. The visit took about an hour.
Leaving Qiaoyuan, next to it is Zhonglou Alley, where there are many clothing stores and coffee shops. Strolling around, you can encounter one romantic spot after another belonging to Taizhou. It's suitable for leisurely walks and photo-taking.
Leaving Zhonglou Alley, walk a little over a kilometer to Nanshan Green Temple, an ancient temple located by Fengcheng River. It is quiet and low-key, without commercial atmosphere. The architecture here blends perfectly with the surrounding environment, and you can take photos. Wenfeng Tower is a great spot for photography.
Around one o'clock, ride a small electric scooter to Taizhou Old Street to find food. It's a Ming and Qing dynasty alley with blue bricks and black tiles. Wandering through the depths of the courtyards, listening to Pingtan storytelling, leisurely eating and shopping. Bought the special Huangqiao sesame cake and pork bones. The Huangqiao sesame cake is fragrant and crispy, really delicious.
There is also a morning tea museum on the old street, where you can have a brief visit to learn about the culture and development of Taizhou morning tea.
Leaving the morning tea museum, right across is Taoyuan. Here, the waterside pavilions and corridors are beautiful, facing Wanghailou across the water. Enjoying the lake breeze and sunshine, it feels like being in a tranquil paradise. It's really relaxing. Spent more than an hour wandering here.
At 4 pm, walk to the last stop, Meiyuan. This is the former residence of Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang. The yard is not large but exquisite, with rockeries, flowing water, pavilions, and a large white marble statue of Mr. Mei playing Yang Taizhen standing above the green water. The melodious opera echoes in the ears, as if being in that time when the streets were empty to watch his performance, witnessing Mr. Mei's glorious moments. Spent an hour taking photos and strolling around.
At 5 o'clock, take the bus to the train station and return to Shanghai. Taizhou is not big, but it is incredibly beautiful. If you have nothing to do on the weekend, come here to experience the bustling morning tea and the warmth of the ancient alleys.

Taizhou Old Street
Taizhou Old Street is located in the Taoyuan Scenic Area within the Fengcheng River Scenic Area, and it is truly the 'Number One Snack Street in Central Jiangsu'.
Outside the Taoyuan Scenic Area by the Fengcheng River, a bluestone-paved Ming and Qing alley weaves through the deep courtyards. The sounds of Pingtan narrative singing fill the ears, and the street is fragrant with snacks. Along with the long, drawn-out cries of vendors, it stretches for 600 meters, forming an ancient architectural strip of blue bricks and black tiles. This is 'Taizhou Old Street'.
In fact, this is not an old street in the true sense of the word. Strictly speaking, it is a replica of an ancient tourist attraction. Originally, this area was farmland and residential land for villagers. It only began to be developed in 2007 and took several years to reach its current scale.
Located on the old street, the Pianzaihuang Museum displays the century-long development of the Pianzaihuang pharmaceutical enterprise and the culture of traditional Chinese medicine, and it is worth a visit.
Opposite the Pianzaihuang Museum is a morning tea museum, a theme museum that is not commonly seen. Friends who are interested can also go in and see what Jiangsu's morning tea culture is like.
Taizhou Old Street's morning tea is mainly consumed by locals, with reasonable prices and generous portions. The most popular is Haitangchun on Taizhou Old Street, and the morning tea at Guyuelou is also good. Locals usually choose to eat authentic Taizhou cuisine at Guyuelou.
Speaking of the most famous food in Taizhou, Huangqiao baked cakes must be mentioned. Even the 1 or 2 yuan cakes have a dense layer of sesame seeds on top. There has been a tradition of planting white sesame seeds here since ancient times, so Taizhou also has a specialty called 'Taizhou Three Sesames', namely sesame oil, sesame cake, and sesame pastry (some people jokingly add another 'sesame' for mahjong, because Taizhou people love to play mahjong). Sesame oil is used in blanched dried silk and buns, while sesame cake and sesame pastry are everyday snacks for the people of Taizhou.
Fork in the Road
I thought Sanya was beautiful enough until I visited this place in Jiangsu
I've always been dissatisfied with the coastline along Jiangsu and Zhejiang
But after one trip to Lianyungang, it completely overturned my perception. It's on par with Qingdao, Dalian, and Pingtan's seas, and there's even a village that can compare to Italy's Cinque Terre
:Lianyungang 2-day tour

Island scenery, Yellow Sea sunrise, Republic of China old street Lianyungang Station/Lianyungang East Station: It's recommended to rent a car and drive yourself after arriving in Lianyungang
Lianyungang 2 days and 7 nights route Day1:
Old Street of Lianyungang - Hundred Steps Staircase to Lianyun Railway Station - Liandao (Dashawan--Xiliandao-Tietou Lighthouse-Liandao Sunset Day2:
Yangwo Head Sunrise--Liandao·Suma Bay Sea Yuntai Mountain--Faqi Temple --Return trip
Punch-in strategy for Liandao
Liandao is close to Lianyungang city area, with natural landscapes, fishing boats and villages (Xiliandao) where you can enjoy both sunrise and sunset, perfect for a comfortable island drive.
'Liandao Scenic Area' is a national 5A scenic spot, with excellent facilities and interface. The first time I saw the color of the sea, I was amazed, it's really blue-green. It's suggested to walk from Dashawan along the coastal boardwalk all the way to Peacock Garden, then take a bus to Suma Bay.
Lianyungang Old Street
A local old street area, built at the foot of a mountain, with many upward steps forming a lot of shooting angles, a bit like Chongqing, but with more of Lianyungang's unique mountain and sea flavor.
Sea Yuntai
A place where Li Bai and Su Shi once visited and wrote poems, it was once an island at sea, but now it's a mountain with a view of the sea. From the top, you can see the port, Liandao, and half of Lianyungang city area.
Travel Tips
-Be sure to check the weather by the sea, sunny and rainy days are completely different, all my photos are from sunny days.
Liandao is quite large, it's recommended to rent a car or drive if you're in a group.
·You can enjoy both the sunrise and sunset on Liandao, the sunrise is an unobstructed rise from the sea level, and the sunset is a fall among the dotted boats.

Spring Festival Holiday | Taizhou Day Trip | City Walk
Can't stay at home during the holiday, so I chose Taizhou, which is not far from Nanjing.
🚘It took more than an hour to drive there, and the highway is 🆓 during the holiday, which is really nice!
It's like a reverse tourism, there are not many people in Taizhou, and the road is smooth🚙
🕛Arrived at noon, just in time for brunch.
🏮Huibin Building, open during the Spring Festival, and it's easy to park nearby.
✔️Signature crab roe bun, 30💰 each, big size, full of crab roe inside, not fishy, tastes quite fragrant, the bun skin is also sweet, it's indeed a local specialty.
✔️The fresh shrimp dumplings are also very fragrant, the meat filling is firm, there are shrimp inside, the soup is fresh and sweet, tastes good~
✔️Rice straw bun is also quite special, it has a refreshing taste when you eat it.
Also ordered hot dry silk, beef bun, thousand layer cake, shumai, fish slice wonton, they all taste okay, just over intake of carbohydrates😂
🕜After eating, walk for 20 minutes to the Plum Garden, visit Mr. Mei Lanfang's house, no need for tickets, just make a reservation by scanning the code.
The garden is not big, but it's quite exquisite, has the atmosphere of Jiangnan garden, there is also an introduction of Mr. Mei Lanfang, it's good to bring children to see.
🕝After visiting the Plum Garden, cross a bridge and you are at Taizhou Old Street.
To be honest, the old streets everywhere are quite similar, just some snacks and toys.
Had a lotus root starch ball, it tastes okay~
⛲️Taizhou is not big, there are also morning tea museum, peach garden near the old street, but we were a bit tired, so we went back to Nanjing.
🌆No plan for a long trip, a day trip city walk is quite relaxing, change a city, eat some delicious food, walk around, see different scenery~

Strolling around the old street of Taizhou, encountering worldly happiness
📍Across the street from the Mei Lanfang Park (Mei Garden) is the 600-meter-long Taizhou Old Street, an antique tourist attraction developed on a piece of farmland and residential land in 2009, a 3A scenic spot.
📍The 'young' old street, with its ancient buildings of green bricks and black tiles, the small alleys paved with sesame stones from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the lingering fragrance of snacks, and the intangible cultural heritage elements of Taizhou, reflect the worldly happiness. Next to the old street is the Peach Garden. Standing by the Fengcheng River, slowly admire the Taizhou landmarks across the river - Wanghai Building, Wenfeng Tower, TV Tower framed with the sunset, and experience the slow life of this small city...
📍These days CCTV is filming activities at Wanghai Building, which is not open to the public. It seems that Wanghai Building in the Peach Garden of Fengcheng River Scenic Area is the C position. It seems that Taizhou is going to be 🔥👻👻 this Spring Festival.

Taizhou Old Street, a collision of history and fashion
Taizhou Old Street is located outside the Taoyuan Scenic Area on the bank of the Fengcheng River. It's a small alley from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Passing through the ancient archway, you enter the old cobblestone streets. The shops on both sides of the street are in the ancient style, with strings of big red lanterns hanging all over the arcade corridor. The signs, plaques, and banners of each shop complement each other. Walking through it, it's as if you're traveling through time and space.
At the end of the alley, you can see western restaurants, coffee shops, and craft stores everywhere, all of which inject new vitality into this old street area.
Feel free to stroll around here and taste the collision of old street historical architecture and modern fashion.

If I were to choose a garden to visit, I would choose the Mei Garden in Taizhou
If you go to Taizhou, Mei Garden is definitely a place I would recommend.
Mei Garden is a garden-style memorial hall mainly composed of Ming and Qing architecture, commemorating the Peking Opera master Mr. Mei Lanfang.
From Shanghai to Taizhou, the high-speed rail takes about 2 hours. If you go to Mei Garden, it is closer to get off at Taizhou Station. It is less than 10 kilometers by taxi and takes more than 20 minutes.
The location of Mei Garden is in the Fengcheng River Scenic Area of Hailing District. This scenic area has many attractions, including the old street, Wanghai Tower, Mei Garden, Taoyuan, and so on. I only had half a day, so I chose two places to visit.
One is the old street, and the other is Mei Garden.
The two places are not far apart. The feeling of the old street is somewhat similar to the City God Temple in Shanghai. If time is limited, you can go or not. Mei Garden is really worth a visit.
Although I have been to many small and large gardens, the layout of Mei Garden still makes people feel bright, elegant and quiet. Stepping into it makes people feel very comfortable.
Mr. Mei's life, artistic achievements, and personality style are presented one by one here. Although I am not a fan of Peking Opera, it does not prevent me from being moved by the gentleman's style.
Mei Garden is free to visit. The delicate and elegant beauty of Jiangnan is fully displayed here, with pavilions, towers, flowing water and long corridors. Temperament is purely a feeling. The same Jiangnan thinking, the same tree water pavilion scenery, the effect may be different.
It takes about 1.5 hours to visit, the pace is not fast and the mood is pleasant, and I still feel unfinished after walking around.
