🌟Highlights:
The museum presents the splendid world depicted in a literary work. Uji is the setting for the last ten chapters of Murasaki Shikibu's "The Tale of Genji". The museum is the only one in the world where visitors can experience the work and the culture of the Heian period through restored models and images.
The theme of the Heian Hall is Heian-kyō and Hikaru Genji. The hall displays an elegant and splendid ox cart and costumes, and visitors can get a glimpse of the Heian period through lighting effects.
The theme of the Uji Hall is the Uji Chapters. The hall uses gauze curtains and life-size decorations to recreate the scenes in the Uji Chapters.
The museum also has a video exhibition room, a story hall, a special exhibition room, a corner introducing "The Tale of Genji", and a library.
📌Tips:
1. The area around the museum is very quiet and has beautiful scenery. It already has the flavor of autumn.
2. The museum is not far from Uji Shrine, Uji River, and the statue of Murasaki Shikibu. It takes about ten minutes to walk there.
PathfindingPassions
Have you heard of Genji Monogatari? Known as Japan's "Dream of Red Mansions", I also accidentally saw it from a book. One of the purposes of my coming to Uji is to go to the Museum of Genji Monogatari. Tickets for 500 yen, free Chinese interpreter, there are several small movies to watch, just to escape a storm. The museum exhibition hall mainly focuses on the first half of the Genji language, the Jingjing capital and the light source. The image shows the "Genji Story and Dynasty Scrolls", introduces the charm and summary of the Genji story, and exhibits six models of the Yuan Dynasty that symbolizes the prosperity of the source. The first part and the second part of the Tale of Genji are based on the peaceful city, and Uji is the third stage. Looking at the green maple leaves in the yard outside the museum, I can't help feeling, I really want to come when the red leaf season! But the green maple leaves are another scene~
