✅About Liurong Temple:
🟡 One of the most famous and historic temples in Guangzhou, it has always been a favorite place for literati and poets: Wang Bo left his writings here, and Su Shi inscribed the temple's name. There are many pilgrims in the temple, and the incense is very strong; the environment is quiet and secluded, making it a good choice to relax and empty your mind.
🟡 It is said that Liurong Temple is the most effective place to pray for marriage. Family members in need can go and worship. I caught the tail end of the Spring Festival holiday and went to pray for my career. I hope the Buddha will bless me.

Liurong Temple | Su Dongpo has been here, how can you miss it
| Su Dongpo has been here, how can you miss it.🌿 "Guangxiao is known for its trees, and Jinghui is known for its pagoda".
🔸Liurong Temple is just a street away from Guangxiao Temple, and together with Guangxiao, Hualin, and Hoi Tong Temples, it is known as one of the four great Buddhist monasteries in Guangzhou.
-
🔸Originally named Jinghui Temple, it is said that Su Dongpo passed by this place, found the banyan trees shading the sun, and the serene Zen atmosphere, and with a flourish of his brush, he wrote the words "Liurong". It was not until the Qing Dynasty's Guangxu period that "Liurong Temple" became its official name. Upon careful appreciation, one can still get close to the ink fragrance transformed by Su Dongpo's writing.
-
🔸Compared to the scale of Guangxiao Temple, Liurong Temple may be compact but it holds immense historical value. The "Liurong Flower Pagoda" inside the temple stands tall with its eaves and walls dazzlingly brilliant. The pagoda has eight sides, nine tiers, and a total of seventeen levels, and it is said that from the top one can overlook the old Guangzhou city, making it the tallest ancient pagoda from the Song Dynasty still existing in the Lingnan region.
-
🔸Today's Liurong Temple, inheriting a millennium of devotion and cultural context, is bustling with pilgrims, making this temple a pure land for the soul, filled with wisdom and harmony.
----------
💡Tips:
In the temple, flowers are used to honor Buddha, and you can offer lamps or write wish ribbons for blessings inside the temple.
It's good to bring some peanuts and fruits as offerings to Buddha.
Remember to walk clockwise around the flower pagoda, with odd numbers being auspicious. Then turn the wheel of fortune, symbolizing smooth sailing from then on.
Do not wear revealing clothes! Do not be noisy! Do not take photos of the Buddha statues!

Lunar New Year | Liurong Temple · Blessing
🏮🏮🏮
Every lunar December 23rd morning, also known as the so-called "Lunar New Year", the high monks of "Liurong Temple" will gather together, around the "Flower Pagoda" in Liurong Temple with hundreds of years of history, to hold a grand ceremony for praying for the new year.
The ceremony includes chanting scriptures, Zen chanting, walking around the pagoda, changing blessing plaques, etc., not only praying for the Chinese people, but also for all people who love peace in the world. It reflects the great pattern of Zen Buddhism opening the door to kindness and saving all sentient beings.
On the occasion of the New Year, the old people in Guangzhou have the traditional custom of going to Liurong Temple to "hang a blessing plaque", which can be for relatives, friends, or even for themselves to ask for a blessing plaque to hang under the flower pagoda.
The "blessing plaque" will be on the day of the lunar new year every year, after the high monks have finished their ceremonies, the old blessing plaques offered by the believers last year will be taken down and incinerated together, and then the new blessing plaques offered by the believers will be hung under the flower pagoda, a landmark of Yangcheng for thousands of years since the Northern and Southern Dynasties, for a whole year, receiving the wisdom of the thousand-year-old temple's continuous incense and the monks' Zen chanting.
Therefore, this has also become one of the most important New Year's blessing ceremonies for the old Guangzhou people before the Spring Festival.
💖Practical Guide
🌟Hang a blessing plaque: Just voluntarily donate 50 yuan for good deeds, and you can get an exclusive "blessing plaque", write your thoughts for your loved ones, your beautiful expectations for the future, and then give it to the volunteers to hang it on the bottom of the flower pagoda, receiving the protection and blessing of the incense of the thousand-year-old temple. It can be seen that the project of Liurong "hanging a blessing plaque" is not exclusive to the rich who want to make money, it has always been very down-to-earth. And I, too, have gotten used to hanging a blessing plaque for my relatives at this time every year.
There are six types of blessing plaques: Na Fu, Kai Yun, An Kang, Ju Cai, Ping An, Ji Xiang, each with different meanings, you can choose according to your own wishes and write down various wishes. You can hang it at any time of the year, and it will be taken down and incinerated together after the blessing ceremony of the lunar new year next year. So, if you come to ask for it on the day of the lunar new year, the blessing plaque can hang under the flower pagoda for a whole year.
🌟Give away the word 'Fu': At this time every year, the good calligraphers in Liurong Temple, whether they are monks or laymen, will give away the word 'Fu' for free. You can take the word 'Fu' from the precious temple home and stick it on the front door, or in the house, and you will be full of good luck for a whole year. This is also a Spring Festival custom that the old Guangzhou people love. Giving away the word 'Fu' is free, you just need to follow Liurong Temple's public account.
🌟Tour Liurong: Liurong Temple is not only a Buddhist treasure land, but also a feng shui treasure land with a long history in Yangcheng. The great literati Su Dongpo loved this place so much that he lived here for a long time to meditate. Now the temple plaque "Liurong" is from his handwriting, and therefore "Liurong Temple" replaced the original "Jinghui Temple" name. The temple visit is completely free.
The "Liurong Flower Pagoda" is a Thousand Buddha Pagoda, the core pillar of the pagoda is a copper pillar, cast in the 18th year of Yuan Zhizheng (1358), the pillar body is densely covered with 1033 small Buddha statues and cloud-wrapped heavenly palace pagoda pictures. The Thousand Buddha Copper Pillar, together with the golden flame pearl, double dragon bead, nine-layer plate, cover plate and 8 iron chains on the top of the pagoda, weighs more than 5 tons. For hundreds of years, the Flower Pagoda has always been one of the most conspicuous "landmarks" in Yangcheng.
