VISITING THE TEXAS STATE CAPITOL.
The Texas State Capitol is the capitol and seat of government of the U.S. state of Texas. Located in downtown Austin, Texas, the structure houses the offices and chambers of the Texas Legislature and of the Governor of Texas.
Designed in 1881 by architect Elijah E. Myers, it was constructed from 1882 to 1888 under the direction of civil engineer Reuben Lindsay Walker. A $75 million underground extension was completed in 1993.
The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and recognized as a National Historic Landmark in 1986

My visit to the Texas Capitol in Austin left me in awe of both its historical significance and architectural grandeur. Situated in the heart of downtown Austin, this iconic structure is not just a government building but a symbol of Texas pride.
The Capitol's towering dome and pink granite façade immediately catch the eye. Walking through the rotunda and chambers, I was immersed in Texas history, surrounded by portraits, exhibits, and artifacts that tell the story of the Lone Star State.
The lush Capitol grounds with statues, monuments, and beautifully landscaped gardens offer a peaceful escape. The view from the south steps, with the city skyline as a backdrop, is picture-perfect.
Nearby attractions like the Bullock Texas State History Museum and the Blanton Museum of Art add to the cultural richness of the area. Exploring the vibrant streets of downtown Austin, known for its live music scene and eclectic eateries, provided a perfect complement to the Capitol experience.
In summary, the Texas Capitol is a must-visit, seamlessly blending history, architecture, and natural beauty. Its central location and proximity to other attractions make it a cornerstone of any Austin itinerary. 🏛️🤠🎶 #usa #austin #texas

🌟Highlights: The Texas State Capitol is located in Austin, Texas, USA. It is a century-old building and was selected as one of the most historic buildings in the United States in 1986. The exterior of the building is made of local pink granite, with a beautiful dome, a luxurious conference hall, and a beautiful surrounding environment. The main entrance leads to a tree-lined avenue with beautiful scenery.
❤Recommended reason: The interior design of the building is unique, with many warm decorations. It is an important office building in the area. The walls of the building are covered with portraits of previous governors. George W. Bush once served as governor of Texas, and his portrait is among them. Visitors need to go through security checks to enter the building. The lobby of the building is accessible up to the fourth floor.

There are two towers in the building, symbolizing the independence of the United States and Texas, respectively. The copper-cast pentagram on the roof symbolizes the glory and freedom of Texas. Visitors can admire exquisite murals and sculptures in the lobby and learn about the history and political development of Texas.

Texas State Capital Visit
On our second stop in Austin we visited the state capitol. There is mostly pictures and big rooms to look at. There is also an underground portion where the gift shop is so don’t forget that.
If you like history then this is great as it includes free tours. If you don’t care much for hustle you can do a Quick Look around within 1 hour as the architecture is still something that’s nice to see.

Austin also has free tours that you must go to!
🌟 Highlights:
The Texas Capitol is designed to mimic the Capitol in Washington, and it's even seven feet taller. I highly recommend viewing the night scene of the Capitol; at night, the entire Capitol looks even more magnificent and spectacular under the lights.
There is a tour every 30 minutes at the Texas Capitol, and you can follow a tour to learn about the history of the Capitol. Before going, you can check the official website to see what events are happening that day. When I went, I just happened to catch a high school choir performance.
Driving along South Congress Ave towards the Capitol, you can get a better and more comprehensive view of the Capitol.
The Capitol has its own parking garage, which is free for the first two hours on weekdays, and a maximum of 12 dollars for the whole day. This price is very cheap for the city.
