At the end of the cave there is a lagoon
Tham Phu Kham Cave is close by, as is Blue Lagoon 1. Travelers in Vang Vieng have long practiced hurling themselves into this small turquoise lake set in a verdant woodland just outside town. There are several options for doing so, including from the lake's shore, tree platforms, a waterslide, or a rope swing. What are your plans following that? Not much; lie in the sun with dozens of other travelers, relax in the lake, or zip line through the trees for something a little more thrilling.

When we arrived, we first visited the caves and I was surprised by how few people were in the cave with us, considering how many people we saw at the Blue Lagoon. After about an hour visiting the cave, we enjoyed a nice riverside lunch and then swam and jumped into the Blue Lagoon.

Take a simple car to enjoy the local water activities.
November 1, 2024, Day 5 of the trip: Blue Lagoon.
The water of the Blue Lagoon flows from the Tham Phu Kham Cave. When it doesn't rain, the lake water is emerald green and very clean, with many small fish swimming in it. Visitors take simple tuk-tuks and travel over bumpy roads to get here. You can swing in the lake or jump from tree branches 5 meters and 3 meters high, then swim to enjoy the cool lake water, and look up at handsome guys crossing the zip line.
This has become a must-visit place for tourists.

#Travel to the lake
Blue Lagoon 1 in Vang Vieng is a fascinating place, especially after a strenuous hike to the Nam Xay viewpoint. When you arrive at Blue Lagoon 1, you will feel refreshed immediately. The water in the lake is cool and clear, perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking.
The surrounding area is full of natural beauty, surrounded by green trees and mountains, making it a great place to relax and take pictures. There are also rubber rings for rent for playing in the water, so you can have fun to the fullest. Blue Lagoon 1 is a must-see destination when visiting Vang Vieng!

Vang Vieng Blue Lagoon 1: A Must-Visit for Backpackers
Vang Vieng in Laos is often hailed as Southeast Asia's best value outdoor paradise. Among its many attractions, Blue Lagoon 1 stands out as my favorite. The entrance fee is 30,000 kip. You can spend an entire day enjoying the water and even try high diving. There's also a spectacular cave in the mountains next to the lagoon, which is worth exploring. The area is popular with tourists from all over the world, especially those from South Korea who seem to have a great time. It's about a 5-kilometer walk from the city center, but you can also take a tuk-tuk or book a half-day tour on trip.com.

Blue lagoon 1 has a really nice cave that is a short but steep walk up! Definitely worth it as the cave itself is huge and some much to explore

Laos Tour Part Two: Unique Natural Scenery
*Laos Tour Part Two: Unique Natural Scenery*
Laos' diverse geographical environment has created unique natural scenery.
Although I only passed by in a hurry, several landscapes left a deep impression.
~~~~~
From Vientiane to Vang Vieng, about 60 kilometers by car, the road gradually becomes steep, the trees become dense, and a vast body of water suddenly appears under the roadside cliff.
Surrounded by mountains and trees, the reservoir is like a sea; the boundless blue water is connected to the sky; there are three hundred green islands scattered like stars.
This is a reservoir built downstream of the Nam Ngum River, named Nam Ngum Lake, also known as Thousand Island Lake. For the inland Laotians, Nam Ngum Lake is the sea in their eyes.
~~~~~
Vang Vieng is famous for its beautiful natural landscapes, which are as beautiful and charming as jade.
The swimming pool of the hotel in the early morning reflects the mountains, and many Chinese people can't help but exclaim: "It's just like the landscape of Guilin!"
The Nam Ngum River under the sunset, with boats shuttling and sparkling waves. The mountains are like silhouettes pasted on the horizon, showing more charm and grace.
Vang Vieng has many caves, wide or narrow, bright or dark, with staggered layers of caves, strange stalactites, and intermittent streams. It's like an adventure to visit the caves in their original state.
The water flowing out of the Tham Poukham Cave converges into a lake at the foot of the mountain; the lake water is rich in copper ions and appears blue, hence the name "Blue Lagoon".
The water flows slowly, winding and bending, and the big trees on both sides are like giant umbrellas. On the grass, cool pavilions, stone banks, and small bridges, most of them are leisure tourists from Europe and South Korea.
The sunset, tree shadows, and lake water reflect each other, mixing blue, green, and golden into indescribable gorgeous colors.
Unable to resist the temptation of the beautiful water, some people tied swings on the tree trunks and swayed on the lake water; some people simply jumped into the lake to swim and play.
A huge branch of a hundred-year-old banyan tree has become a natural diving platform. Under the cheers of the tourists, handsome men and beautiful women of various skin colors started to dive in different styles.
Of course, I can't miss this good scenery and water, so I also jumped into the lake and played in the water.
The lake water is cool, blue and clear, and the feet are deep and bottomless; the fish swim around, touching the skin, and scatter as soon as they touch.
The landscapes of Vang Vieng gave me an unprecedented experience.
~~~~~
Kuang Si Falls is located in the mountains 29 kilometers south of Luang Prabang, the ancient capital of Laos.
Here, the rainforest vegetation is lush, with towering trees, ground covered with weeds, and wild flowers dotted in between.
The waterfall is about 200 meters high, triangular in shape, and the water splashes and falls between the rocks, like a white silk dancing vigorously. It is said that it is more spectacular to see it in the rainy season.
I think the unique beauty of Kuang Si Falls is largely due to the layered and winding waterway.
The bottom stone of the waterway is yellow and white and smooth, and the water flow is crystal clear and blue. The water flows together and apart, sometimes rushing like a waterfall, sometimes slowly accumulating into a pool.
There are three places where the pool is wide and deep, becoming natural swimming pools. People splash and play in the water, adding some liveliness to this quiet deep mountain.
The unique landscape is like Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou, but the scattered banyan trees and towering coconut trees remind me that this is a foreign country.
Blue Lagoon and Phukham Cave
Tham Phu Kham mean “Blue Lagoon” in Lao and is this is said to be one of the most sacred caves in the country.
As you would expect this also makes it one of the most popular spots to visit in Vang Vieng and it is also known for its azure waters
(a nod to the name) and first chamber you will find the large bronze statue of the Buddha and then At the bottom of the track to the cave is the blue lagoon, a beautiful pool with crystal clear waters. The cold turquoise waters provide a chance to cool down and wash of the cave’s dust. Next to the pool is a tree with ropes hanging down from its branches to swing off from and jump in the water.
To get to the cave you will need to travel from Vang Vieng urban to Ban Na Thong and then hike to the main mouth, the 200 meter climb is quite steep at places.
Once inside you can swim in the lake in a cave or you can also try swimming into the inner chamber on a rope#asiatrip #naturalwonders #laos
Was very much Looking forward to seeing blue lagoon as before my trip heard it was fantastic and a must do while in Vang Vieng It was very underwhelming.
It’s more like a theme park for hooligans, with all the gimmicks of swings and jumping from platforms etc. #wintergetaway
