[2024 Singapore Stay] Travel Guide for The Clan Hotel Singapore by Far East Hospitality (Updated Nov)
The Clan Hotel: Immerse in the City's History, Enjoy Premium Services
The Clan Hotel offers a fascinating way to immerse in the city's history and experience its modern charm. It stands out from other luxury hotels in the region, not only boasting awe-inspiring modern facilities, but also offering a view of the old streets lined with shophouses and themes that highlight local culture. The lobby reception is on the second floor. Upon reaching the lobby reception, the space is dominated by dark colors, displaying many pieces of art, forming a calm contrast with the hustle and bustle of the streets outside. The ceiling is high and the windows are large, creating no sense of oppression. In addition to the hardware facilities, the welcome tea service by the tea master and the evening essential oil service also give a sense of staying in a luxury hotel, allowing you to enjoy a peaceful rest.

Clan Hotel where modern meets tradition
Clan hotel - A modern luxury hotel with a nostalgic story to tell. It is inspired by prominent clan associations that used to reside in the cultural precinct and the hotel included these element in their decoration in the lobby.
When we reach, we are greeted with a welcome tea ceremony - a cup of famous Nanyang Ritual, tau sar piah and a towel. The tea is really fragrance.
Booked the Master Series room and room is modern and contemporary. It comes with a tea set by the window where you can enjoy a sip of Nanyang Ritual tea while admiring the view overlooking the window.
Went to the pool and it resemble an infinity pool where you can enjoy the CBD skyline by the pool.
Breakfast at Qin restaurant is okay but will prefer a wider variety of food.

Stay Where Culture and Modernity Collides
Located at Cross St in the middle of the CBD, the Clan Hotel is a modern hotel with culture as it’s foundation. A stay in this hotel is an experience that’s worth trying. From the entrance to check-out, everything is well though out. The interior and services offered all align with the nostalgia that the hotel wants the guests to experience. I also love the concept that even in the middle of the CBD, the high-rise hotel will remind you of the old times, that there was a tradition present and still continuing in these modern streets.
The entrance of the hotel is discreet and to reach the main lobby, you must take a lift. The lobby greeting you is impressive. I felt intimidated with the high ceiling and décor. The interior felt very Asian-inspired with the heavy use of wood and dark colours. The floor to ceiling windows shows a view of the surrounding shophouses which completes the concept of the hotel. As what I’ve read, a tea ritual will be done for guests upon check-in. When we checked-in though there was no ritual done, but instead we just got served the biscuit and tea while waiting for the check-in process to be done. We enjoyed the night swim in one of the hotel’s facilities, the sky pool. The view from the pool is amazing!
What I loved the most with our stay is the room. We booked a Grand Premier Double Room with great views since it’s a corner room. The bathtub is the main reason we booked this room. It’s so pretty! The room also has the mini bar items that we chose upon booking time. Whenever I choose a hotel, I always gravitate towards hotels that offer something unique and different. The room came with our own tea set including the tea and biscuits. I enjoyed the room more because of these amenities and features. The breakfast included was served in their in-house restaurant, Qin Restaurant & Bar. We chose from a selection available, and it was delicious!
The location of the hotel is good since there’s an MRT close, Telok Ayer station. The hotel is also near tourist spots. There are also lots of dining options outside the hotel if you plan to eat outside. I would love to stay at this hotel again!

The Clan Singapore
#hotelreview
I had the privilege to put myself up at The Clan Hotel in Telok Ayer earlier this year. This hotel is quite new, hence the furniture are all very well maintained and very clean!
I got the Grand Premier Room which are basically corner rooms on each floor where you have parabolic views over the city of Singapore! The floor to ceiling windows let an ample amount of light into the room and livens the place up!
The toilets are also a highlight. Fitted with Japanese bidet bowls and high quality bathtub. Which made the room even more enjoyable. I also got a basket of snacks as welcome treats!
Come try it for yourself!

The Clan Hotel Singapore - QIN restaurant
#mysgmemories
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to stay in The Clan Hotel. It is situated on Cross Street, in the intersection of the Central Business District and the Chinatown District, and it was built to reflect both influences, the façade looking like a modern office building, and the interior which has many influences from early Chinese settlers and their legacy.
During my stay, I had lunch at the QIN restaurant, operated by the Tung Lok Group, which offered a fusion Chinese or local cuisine menu. I tried some of the new items in their refreshed menu, and would highly recommend visitors to the hotel to try the restaurant and get your tastebuds refreshed.

I got a Grand Premier room on the higher floors, and this is the only room type in the hotel that came with a bathtub. They were also at the corners of the building hence they have full-length windows showing u two different sides of the hotel.
Breakfast at QIN restaurant was good and it was a good way to close my stay.

Glass house hotel dining
If you are planning to stay at The Clan Hotel, it is a great idea to get a package which includes breakfast. It is a buffet style breakfast in a gorgeous glass house restaurant! The windows span two storeys, creating a nice ambience with sunlight streaming in and a fantastic view of the heritage buildings across the street.
It’s not a very big spread but decent enough for a filling one. A pro tip is to go early before 8.30am as it can get very crowded past that time.
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Unique welcome tea ceremony
The Clan Hotel has one of the most unique welcome teas of all the hotels that I’ve been to. With a heritage twist echoed through its design, guests who are checking in are treated to a traditional Chinese clan tea ceremony.
An actual tea master brews the tea in full view and presents it with a delicious traditional sweet pastry and a cold towel. He even engages you in conversation about these practices and refills your tea should you want some more. What an experience, you should definitely try it out!

Modern meets tradition
Owned by Far East Hospitality group, this hotel is a super chic and contemporary one that has clearly incorporated elements of cultural significance into its aesthetic. Upon arrival and check-in, you will be served a welcome tea and pastry that resembles how people in the Chinese clan associations used to welcome visitors.
Rooms are sizeable and very clean. The bay window sofa is my favourite part of the room as I got to enjoy the city views from there. The pool is located on the rooftop, do remember to catch the golden sunset there!

Clan architectural staycay
The Clan Hotel is a fairly new hotel situated very near the neighbourhood of Chinatown. The design and architecture pays homage to the history of traditional clans in Singapore, but with a modern twist.
Not only do the rooms have heritage art pieces, the common spaces also continued this theme with Chinese decor items. Be ready to be treated to an aesthetic burst of culture when you stay here!
My overall rating of the experience: 5 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🇸🇬|Staycation at The Clan Hotel
Come to Staycation again, this time I chose The Clan Hotel Singapore which located in Cross st. After we check in I found that the city view of the room is so beautiful, and you can see Chinatown and the CBD at the same time. For a moment, I felt like I was in Manhattan. The location of the hotel is very good, within walking distance to Chinatown and Boat Quay, very convenient.
The lobby of the hotel is not big, but the decoration is quite exquisite. The front desk and the guest rest area are separated by a whole-surface decorative frame. Guests who stay hotel will receive free refreshments and enjoy at the lobby. The tea artist will make tea face to face, eat cakes, and taste tea. It is also very comfortable to sit down and rest.
In the room we stayed in, the bed faced the direction of Chinatown. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows made the light and view very good. The side windows could see the Singapore River and the CBD. The scenery during the day was better than at night.

Ambiance/Facilities - convenient place near the mrt. it’s the hotel restaurant as well. serves good Sichuan food. comes with 2 level, mezzanine is the bar area. It has a nice outdoor area to chill as well.
Highlights - love the deconstructed prata. nice please with high ceiling that oversees telok Ayer district in CBD. quite a modern touch for their Chinese cuisine. very generous portion. I tried their lunch set for $120 for 2 pax for a work day celebration. Comes with 6 of their popular dishes and a dessert, worth it! It claims to be tasting portion, but I was really stuffed. So good.

I decided to book my birthday staycay here after reading the good reviews. Wasnt very impressed but enjoyed it nonetheless.
Clan is still pretty new so there arent signs of wear and tear. We enjoyed the room even though our deluxe room at 24sqm isnt the biggest. Kudos to the design. Love the bay windows. Also thumbs up for the chromecast!
Also love the water pressure in the bathroom. Rain shower was very enjoyable. And not forgetting the toto toilet! Just abit puzzled why the seat isnt warm but its a small matter.
One thing that Clan can improve on is the breakfast though. There isnt very variety. Some of the food is also cold as the warmer isnt set high enough? Would advise those considering to stay here not to topup for the breakfast, unless you value convenience.
Wouldnt mind coming back here if there is a promo!

The Clan Hotel Singapore
The Clan is a newer hotel in Singapore, situated right in the middle of the CBD it’s an unbeatable location with so many restaurants within walking distance.
Despite being in such a busy area the hotel and rooms itself are quiet and tranquil which is a stark difference from the outside.
The rooms are spacious modern and clean with amazing city views. They also welcome you with a tea ceremony upon checking in.
Other amenities include a state of the art gym located on the highest floor and a sky pool.
Would certainly recommend to everyone!

Staycation in Chinatown
You can easily access this hotel by taking the MRT train and alighting at Telok Ayer station. It exits right at the entrance of the hotel. I like that it was in the vicinity of many food places so we never needed to worry about what to eat. Our stay came with breakfast, which turned out to be quite average though.

Workout with a view
Located on level 30, the highest level of this hotel, the fully equipped gym has floor-to-ceiling windows on almost all its sides. Guests can have a workout and enjoy the panoramic city skyline views at the same time.
On top of the usual gym equipment, they also have a large video screen for aerobic video workouts pre-loaded to the system. Take a Zumba lesson or follow a hiit video workout. There is also a boxing area with a punching bag if that’s your workout of choice.

Lux Getaway @ The Clan Hotel
#meetsingapore
The Clan Hotel, located near Singapore’s Cross Street in the Central Business District area, is a modern and luxurious hotel owned by the Far East Group.
We had a short getaway of a night’s stay at this hotel and it did not disappoint! The room was spacious, clean, modern and luxurious. Bathroom was beautifully designed and we loved the bidet as well.
Hotel is also just a stone’s throw away from local cafes and restaurants, very convenient! There was a welcome drink at check-in, and complimentary snacks were also provided in our room.
It was a wonderful stay and I will be back!
My ranking - 4 ⭐️ out of 5!

A “Qin”- pronounced as Chin - Breakfast
Do not be mistaken You have entered the chinese medical hall, the moment you stepped into level 5 of The Clan Hotel. The chinese medical hall inspired cabinets formed the backdrop and the ceiling of the restaurant! Surprisingly, the effect is awesome! Part of Level 5 is dedicated to the bar and the restaurant offers a breathtaking view of the city! The breakfast is served at the restaurant for guests who stayed in the hotel! From western to local delights, you get to try different cuisine for the breakfast! The famous is their Kaya spread! i love to pair it with my croissant! Yummy! Of course dont forget to order a cup of cappuccino or latte to go with it! ❤️ If you cant wake up early to enjoy the breakfast, you can join them for lunch or dinner! The bar is closed at 1030pm (last order at 10pm) : ) #staycation #foodie #mustdo #cafe #passionpassport #本地遊

The Clan Hotel Breakfast Buffet
Was surprised to know that The Clan Hotel is now offering breakfast buffet.
Breakfast buffet is served at Level 4 of the hotel.
Sad to say, the breakfast was disappointing. Limited choices were offered as shown in the photos and the quality wasn’t there. I highly suspect that food has been reheated.
I believe the hotel can do better.
If your hotel booking doesn’t come with breakfast, I think you can give it a miss and not top up for it.
There are plenty of food options nearby.

Shout “open Sesame” and join the “The Clan”
You will see the door shut from outside 10 Cross Street! once you shout. open sesame, you will be lured into the clan world! This is another hotel under Far East Hospitality. Beautiful tall ceiling is the catch in this new hotel. You will be invited to join the tea ceremony once you have checked into the hotel! Sweet bean biscuit together with hot autumn tea sounds a good match! The tea master will refill your cup once you are done, simple afternoon tea for you to relax! The surprise does not end here. The room was elegantly decorated with super huge shower room - big enough for four people in it! You will love the heated toilet bowl too! on the table, a surprise gift - furoshiki is waiting for you. open up the furoshiki to discover the gift in it. i will not disclose it here. Must visit the swimming pool and jacuzzi on the 30th floor. if you like mahjong, do visit the mahjong room in level 3! #staycation #foodie #mustdo #tripblazers #本地遊 #urbanexplorer #summervacation #passionpassport #fareasthospitality

Besides having a very beautiful infinity skypool, The Clan Hotel 🏨 displays a rich Singapore heritage and history, with a mix of some lovely modernization. It is located at Telok Ayer, and is a short 5-min walk to Lau Pa Sat🍴
No pictures, but I quite like how the elevators in the hotel were hidden behind large translucent auto sliding doors. Made me feel like I was entering a world of peace and tranquility from the noise outside.
You get a welcome tea ceremony after check-in if the tea master is around 🍵
Now comes the exciting part. The infinity skypool & jacuzzi at L30!! 🤩🌅 As the number of seats are limited, be sure to get the spot once it's empty.
I got to admire the sunset while chilling in the pool at the golden hour. It was cold though 🥶😂
There's a gym right next door as well.
The cosy deluxe room had a view facing really tall buildings, comes with complimentary tea leaves, a drinks minibar and a seat-warmer in the bathroom 🚽
It's not everyday you see a seat-warmer especially in SG so it's a novelty in a cold room 😀

Modern heritage: Clan Hotel Singapore
The Clan Hotel Singapore is a modern hotel inspired by culture and heritage. Chinoiserie details are found in the decor all around – from the luxurious lobby area to the upper floor rooms. There is even a pillow menu for you to choose from to get a good night’s sleep. And don’t forget to check out the rooftop pool, with views of the city skyline. Meals are served at Qin, where Chinese food gets a modern update. #hotel #MustStay

Address - The Clan Hotel
Ambience/Facilities - Room was big and had great views of the Chinatown area. Bed was really comfortable and we could request for extra pillows such as full body pillow or side sleeper pillow which enhanced our 2 nights stay. Bathtub has a holder plate that stretches across, great for soaking and using our phone or read a book with being afraid it will be wet.
Only downside was that the bathroom feels dusty most of the time, not too sure if it is because of the black base colour. Swimming pool at Level 30 offered great views but was quite cold and towels were not cleared when we were there around 9pm. However, the warm jacuzzi changed everything around and we were stuck in there for a good 30min.
Highlights
- Master Series Benefits akin but better than usual Club Benefits.
- First Hotel in SG that provides bubble bath solution and Milk/Oil solution for us to soak in bathtub as usual ones are bath salts.
- In-room Minibar (5-6 items) could be pre-selected before check-in and loving their tea (Nanyang Ritual Oolong) we were were served during check-in especially.
- Upon request for turndown, a flower tea and pulse point roller was provided in room too. Room came with chinese tea set for us to make our own flower tea which was fun but the roller was quite smelly 😅
Avg. Price per Person - $400 per night for Grand Premier Room weekend stay through trip.com with discount :) Usual on website is $480ish and up?
Rating - 5/5 STARS. Food would be a 3.5/5 stars (as breakfast in the restaurant had more options and tasted fresher while the in-room all-day breakfast only had 2 options and it tasted like it was left out since morning and microwaved upon our request to send to room).

The Clan Hotel!
one of the best staycations i had! such a cosy room with the most comfortable bed and big 55” TV with chromecast. breakfast was okay- had a few choices to choose from and they will serve it as a set together with butter and kaya toast. the rooftop
pool and jacuzzi were my favourite part of the hotel. the sky gym looks amazing too! really enjoyed my stay here and would be back again!

Sky Gym
Clan Hotel's Sky Gym is my favourite hotel gym in Singapore. First of all it's 24 hours, which means I can come in late at night after making full use of the other hotel's facilities.
Not forgetting the view of the gym is overlooking chinatown and the central business district of Singapore. Gives me the motivation to gym hehe. I also like the TV walls in the gym where we can watch working out videos and train at the same time. However, if we use the videos, we are not able to see the gym.
The gym area outside is also very cool! They have huge table and a huge toilet for you to change in. Quite interesting how such a high level in the hotel is being used as a toilet.

Clan Hotel Premiere Room
Previously I stayed at the deluxe room of Clan Hotel which doesn’t come with the bathtub and a smaller room. However last month, I got a chance to visit my friend who was staying in the Premiere room! Since Premiere rooms are generally higher, it was so cool over looking the city. The room highlight is that guests will get to enjoy customised in-room refreshments of 5 items, handmade soap, clan daily special and clan keeper services.
Clan hotel also have a pillow menu which allowed me to try the U shape pillow which is normally used during pregnancy. They also have other pillows for you to try in the list.

Modern hotel with a story to tell
📍Address: 10 Cross Street (nearest MRT DT8-Telok Ayer) and within walking distance to Chinatown
📝 The pick up/drop off point is a bit hidden and could be easily missed if you arrive by taxi.
The moment we stepped into the lobby, we are relaxed and welcomed by the tea scent evoking from the hotel. The tea ceremony at the lobby is interesting. Check-in was efficient and staff is very friendly. Our request for late check-out was granted due to belated birthday. As the hotel is new, everyone is trying their best to give you the best hospitality service experience.
🛏 The room compact but the layout is well-planned so we did not feel cramped even though it was less than 30sqm. Of course, the cool thing is the TOTO toilet :)
Chromecast was built in TV so casting Netflix was not an issue.
📢We loved the in-room tea selection and the complimentary mini-bar.
🥘 Breakfast was one of the best I have ever tried in Singapore hotels. I love that Clan hotel dares to
experiment with different dish of the day (local
cuisine with a twist).
