For the cliff lovers
#myhiddengems
If you are headed to Upper Normandy and like the cliff side destinations. This coastal gem will make for a fantastic holiday. Over the last decade or so, I have visited Etreat a number of times with friends. The views are superb, fresh air and great seafood. This isn't a beach with sand, but of pebbles. What the French call Galet. And on the right side of the beach, there are actually some cliffs that you can walk under, and on top of the cliff is a church that you can visit.
The main activity here as a tourist to trek up to the hill and soak in the views of the cliff and panaroma. With time in hand like i had over a course of several days and several stays. For workout and stroll reason i would even walk around the cliff, you'd see a golf course as well near one of the paths. Also, there are some exhibits about the Atlantic Wall and some descriptions about the inspiration and subjects that Claude Monet had from Etretat.

Etretat: A Trio of Natural Wonders, Smart Parking Saves Money
Unlike the Elephant Trunk Hill in Guilin, Guangxi, the cliffs of Etretat in the Normandy region of France differ in two main aspects: one is the difference between river and sea, and the other is the number of formations. Etretat boasts three such formations: the youngest elephant has seen less of the world and is charmingly white; the middle one has seen more and is elegant; the oldest has endured hardships and is rugged.
The youngest and middle elephants are well-known due to the works of Impressionist painters like Monet and are located at opposite ends of the beach. To see the oldest, one must climb atop the middle elephant's back, and to view all three takes at least two hours.
For those driving, parking in the red zone near the visitor center costs 45 euros for over five hours, while the orange zone, about a five-minute walk away, charges only 7.5 euros for the same duration. Walking a few extra steps can lead to significant savings.

The Elephant Cliff of France
The Elephant Cliff in Normandy, France, located in the northwestern coastal resort town of Etretat, is a famous natural landscape on the coast of Normandy. It is named for its three elephant trunk-shaped chalk cliffs. With a population of less than 2000, it is acclaimed as 'France's number one coast'. It is almost built along the very edge of the sea, and the pristine scenery astonishes everyone who comes here.

Bucket list - Étretat
The stunning cliffs of Etretat are world-famous for their naturally-formed archways. This is nature at its best with a fantastic mix of water, cliffs and open fields inland.
We climbed up at both ends to have the birds eye view. Snap some photos of these geological wonders as you ramble along the coastal path.

Speaking of Elephant Trunk Hill, we must first talk about the French painter Monet, one of the founders of Impressionism, and also its representative. You should have heard of the famous "Sunrise Impression"?
Monet was born in Paris. At the age of 5, the family moved to Le Havre in the Normandy region. So when he grew up, Monet painted his hometown of Le Havre. Not only that, the Elephant Trunk Hill near Le Havre became a Monet dish.
With Monet's eyes on the country, the scenery in front of him becomes an oil painting.
Back to Elephant Trunk Hill, as the name suggests, is the mountain that looks like a nose. There are three elephant trunk mountains in the Elephant Trunk Mountain Scenic Area. Because it is also called Elephant Trunk Hill, it is a friendly scenic spot with the Elephant Trunk Hill in Guilin.

Walking to the seaside of Etretat, nature is so eager to cut out the cliff like a stone arch like a proboscis, one of the most famous spots on the northern coastline of France, the Elephant Trunk Hill. Wrap tight coats and scarves in the cold wind, walk on the pebble beach, and can't help but imagine the scene of people bathing in the sun on Nanfa Beach. One South and one North, the difference is so big.
Desperado.
You must be familiar with the Elephant Trunk Hill in Guilin, but do you know that there is an elephant "family" in the seaside town of Etretat in northwestern France! The three large, medium, and small trunk-shaped cliffs are arranged in turn, making people have to admire the wonders of nature! Unfortunately, it seems that only aerial photography can see the spectacular three-story line at the same time? We climbed the summit trail and saw only two. Which one is like a father, which one is like a mother, and which one is like a baby? This is waiting for you to discover...
