Beautiful for Photos
I visited Los Angeles in Summer 2024 and was looking for interesting places to visit. Came across this beautiful villa and thought it would be a good place to check out. The entrance fee was 25$ but the parking was free and there were a lot of parking spaces. The Villa was actually a museum itself portraying arts from different places and the garden of the Villa was stunning. Recommend for Instagram photos.

The Villa is an Art museum focusing on ancient Greek and Roman history and architecture. The design of the villa was modeled after Greek and Roman design. The outdoor areas are gorgeous!! The design is amazing, down to the small details. The museum portions were very informative and cool. There is a focus on statues from both ancient civilizations. The museum also includes a cafe and a theater for special shows.

The most gorgeous villa/ museum in LA
Talk about home goals; The Getty Villa Museum (not to be confused with The Getty Centre), is a stunning seaside establishment that houses Greek and Roman antiques in a recreated Roman country home. Getting to the place requires a drive out of the city, but the views and architecture is well-worth the travel.
The best part? Admission is FREE! Take a leisurely stroll along the palatial grounds. The outdoor garden features a large reflecting pool, ornate sculptures, and even views of the Pacific Ocean. And inside, the museum/ villa is home to ancient art that dates back some 4,000 years ago - from preserved relics to stunning gems. But just the architecture alone is enough to capture attention. Every corner you turn brings you to a photogenic place; you won’t be able to stop snapping pictures! #Museum #villa #Ocean

Getty Museum completes construction of new building.
The J. Paul Getty Museum in the United States announced last week that it has purchased 17 paintings from an anonymous British collector, including works by Italian painter Michelangelo.
(Michelangelo), French painter Jean-Antoine Watteau, Spanish painter Francisco Goya, and other important artists' works are estimated to have a total value of over 100 million US dollars.
"This is the most expensive collection acquisition by the Getty Museum since its establishment in 1974, significantly improving the quality of paintings in the museum's collection," said Timothy Potts, director of the museum.
Among the 17 newly acquired paintings, there are 16 Old Master paintings and one 18th-century oil painting - "La Surprise". This oil painting was completed by French painter Jean-Antoine Watteau in 1718, depicting a musician playing guitar for a couple dancing. The painting was once considered lost until it appeared on the auction market in 2008 and was finally sold for £12.36 million (approximately $24.49 million at the time).

The Getty Villa museum
The Getty Villa Museum is located in Palisades near the Pacific.
Located near Los Angeles, the Getty Villa is one of two museums founded by J. Paul Getty. The Villa is an educational center and museum dedicated to the study of ancient Greek, Roman, and Etruscan art and culture. It houses a collection of 44,000 artifacts from 6,500 BC to 400 AD, including Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities. The design of the Getty Villa is based on the Villa of the Papyri, a first-century Roman villa in the Herculaneum region.
This is the villa where Getty lived before his death, facing the Pacific Ocean and built on the mountain. In 1954, the villa was first converted into an art museum.
