Everything about this hotel is fantastic from the rooms, the food, the onsen, the service — we had an amazing two days here for our honeymoon. This is one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. We did a snowshoe excursion with David who took great care of us and made sure we had an awesome time. Thank you so much to all the staff.overall awesome

A high aesthetic forest-themed hotel with a view of Chuzenji Lake in Nikko
When I first came to Nikko, the Ritz-Carlton Nikko was not yet completed. Later, when it opened, I couldn't come to Japan due to mask reasons. This is my first time in Nikko after the mask issue, and I finally checked in at the long-awaited Ritz-Carlton Nikko, which is also the fourth Ritz I unlocked in Japan.
Each room at the Ritz-Carlton Nikko has a private balcony and a semi-outdoor lounge area. The hotel's views are mainly divided into Chuzenji Lake view and Nantai Mountain view. The western restaurant is located in a forest, quiet and forest-themed. Walking through the lawn from the lobby to the restaurant gives a sense of déjà vu of the Wizard of Oz.
The Ritz-Carlton Nikko is my favorite of the four Ritz-Carltons I have stayed in Japan so far, even surpassing the Ritz-Carlton Kyoto.

Hideaway by the Lake and Wind Hot Spring Hotel | Ritz-Carlton Nikko
The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko, hidden in the mountains, is about two and a half hours' drive from Tokyo. It is the fifth hotel opened by the brand in Japan after Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Okinawa, and it is the most 'hidden' one. One of the highlights of this Ritz-Carlton Nikko is a 'Ritz-Carlton hotel with an authentic Japanese hot spring experience', the overall design has changed the usual luxury route, and has taken a simple and Zen Japanese style.
Geographical location
The hotel is located on the beautiful Chuzanji Lake, presenting a subtle living environment with an elegant and simple posture, further highlighting the concept of getting close to nature away from the city.
Accommodation
94 spacious rooms and suites all come with private balconies, the whole house is mainly in white maple color, the interior furnishings are simple and warm, highlighting the pleasant mountain and lake scenery outside the window. The design of the balcony not only brings the beautiful lake view into the room, but also provides more space for guests to rest.
Hotel Dining
The dining is even more exciting. Whether it's local fresh ingredients, or carefully selected utensils for presentation, and creative plating that starts from tradition but breaks through limitations, every meal here is more like a work of art. Before eating, you might be a little reluctant to start, always let the camera eat first. In addition to a Japanese restaurant, there is also the Lakehouse serving Western dishes, The Bar, and The Lobby Lounge where you can relax and enjoy afternoon tea.
In such a niche secret place, it is undoubtedly necessary to include such a quality hotel in the 'must-sleep series'.
