The Best Cake I’ve had in my life!! 🍰
I’m not even kidding. The cake here is amazing 😍
Every time I think about cake, this place always springs to mind wherever I am in the world. And Why?
The experiences I have had here at The Rocks Cafe, Sydney has always created lasting moments in my mouth with their mouth watering cakes.
When you get to this quaint little cafe, you will see the window filled with different cakes and pastries for your choosing - fruit cakes, chocolate cakes, banana bread… there is a wide range!
Everytime I fly to Australia, I will always allow for 1 day in Sydney just to visit this place. The service is always second to none and satisfaction is 10/10.
My favorite choices are:
- Banoffee Pie
- Double Chocolate Oreo cake
Of course, cakes change seasonally but honestly, I can’t think of a better cafe to sit and eat some cake whilst sitting outside watching the world go by.
If you’re in Sydney, make sure to put this place on your list to visit
📍Head to “The Rocks” in Sydney Harbour and then go to George Street (99 George Street, Sydney)
💰It’s not the cheapest, but it is definitely worth the price
🍔 They have a full menu of food if you’re not into cake!

First Taste of Kangaroo Meat Burger
The reason for choosing this place is because of its classic environment, which feels very much like an old European establishment, with a relaxed pub atmosphere.
Like many Australian cafes, it has both indoor and outdoor seating. I decided to sit inside to experience the classic old shop vibe.
I found the Kangaroo Burger on the menu!!! I had tried kangaroo meat in Hong Kong before, and it tasted somewhat like beef. I was curious to see how the local kangaroo meat would taste. I was very interested in trying it.
Unlike a typical burger that only has tomato and lettuce, this one, in addition to tomato, also has arugula and a generous amount of beetroot puree. It's a more upscale version!
The kangaroo meat patty has a solid texture (but not overly tough), however, the gamey flavor is quite strong, which might not be acceptable to everyone. As someone who enjoys strong flavors, I didn't fall in love with it, but having it once in a while is fine.
Some say the Flat White originated in Melbourne, others say Sydney. Anyway, I've had Flat Whites in many cafes across Australia, and most of them were to my liking. The most important thing is that the temperature is just right, unlike some places in Hong Kong where it's just warm. This cafe's Flat White is also quite good.

Flavours of Europe in Sydney!
This restaurant is located in rock town. Easy walk to/from Circular Quay (it's right behind the Museum of Comtemporary Art). Take a short walk to the nearby Overseas Passenger Terminal for a spectacular view of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The portions are very large, delicious. All dishes are fresh and incredibly tasty. The service is a little too slow..
Come for the wonderful atmosphere and vibe. Stay for the tasty kangaroo steak and burger and make the world a more peaceful place.

Delicious food
The atmosphere of the café is wonderful, with the staff being exceptionally courteous and professional. The food tasted fantastic. The meals were excellent, and the coffee was fantastic. The pie was warm and cozy, with a thin and flaky pastry crust that perfectly complemented the flavorful and tender meat filling.
Very generous portion size and it was delicious. My friend also had their bacon and egg roll which he enjoyed. Overall, my experience at The Rocks Cafe was delightful, and I highly recommend their cottage pie and lemon meringue pie to anyone looking for a delicious and cozy meal.
