Sanmenxia Dam Scenic Area, a 3A scenic area, is located in the northeast of Hubin District, Sanmenxia City, Henan Province. It is adjacent to Shanxi Province in the north and Shaanxi Province in the west, and is known as the "Golden Triangle" in western Henan. It was built in 1957 and is the first large-scale water conservancy hub project built on the main stream of the Yellow River in China. It is known as "The First Dam of the Yellow River". Standing on the dam, you can feel the majestic momentum of the Yellow River, step across two provinces, and have a charming geographical location! You can also visit the construction process of the dam and understand its important role in the control of the Yellow River. Its unique landscapes in winter and summer attract countless tourists and are an ideal place for people to visit, travel, relax, and escape the summer heat. I drove myself from Huashan to the Sanmenxia Dam. It took two hours to visit. The entrance fee was 🎫30, and I deposited my car for 5 yuan. You can drive to the entrance of the dam, walk to the elevator, and go to the center of the Yellow River, where you can take pictures, which is very beautiful.

Sanmenxia Water Conservancy Project is located in the lower reaches of the middle reaches of the Yellow River, connecting Henan and Shanxi provinces. The dam is located between Zhongtiao Mountain and Xiaoshan Mountain, with Pinglu County in Shanxi Province to the north and Sanmenxia City in Henan Province to the south. In the old days, there were rocky islands in the Yellow River bed, which divided the Yellow River water into three branches flowing from west to east, so it was called "Sanmen Gorge"! The Sanmenxia Water Conservancy Project, known as "the first dam on the Yellow River for thousands of miles", is the first large-scale water conservancy project built on the Yellow River after the founding of the People's Republic of China with the main purpose of flood control and comprehensive utilization! When the reservoir area is impounded every year from October to June of the following year, the Yellow River forms a beautiful lake here with sparkling blue waves as far as the eye can see.
