The beauty of Tianjin Eye
Location: Tianjin Ancient Cultural Street, Tianjin, China
Entrance fee: ~ 115¥
Date: May 2, 2021
Tianjin Eye is a must visit place in Tianjin. It’s marvelous any time of the day, especially in the evening with colorful lights. You can sit in the cabin, look at the city from the top of Tianjin Eye and enjoy the gorgeous view.
If you want to ride the Ferris Wheel🎡 it’s better to go there with friends or join some Chinese people. Because for a cabin you should pay 900¥ (which is quite expensive for a person). Each cabin can have up to 8 people on it. One rotation around the wheel takes about 30 minutes.

There is a "London Eye" in London and a "Tianjin Eye" in Tianjin. The "Tianjin Eye" is built across rivers, bridges and wheels, and across the Haihe River. It is said that it can see the scenery within 40 kilometers. The night view on this 110-meter-high Ferris wheel is quite beautiful. It takes a 30-minute turn and the fare is a little expensive.
There are quite a few people coming to the "eye of Tianjin" at night, and there are souvenir shops on the bottom of the Ferris wheel. The Tianjin Yongle Bridge Ferris Wheel officially opened on April 28, 2009 to welcome tourists. It has been 10 years old. Sitting in the basket and rising to the height, the angle of view is suddenly different, the red steel frame is full of science fiction and industrial beauty. At the top, the legendary "alien perspective" overlooks Tianjin, and the night scene is very intoxicating.
Haihe is the mother river of Tianjin, and Tianjin's main customs line is also extended by this river. The Yongle Bridge where Tianjin Eye is located crosses the Haihe River. It is also a good view by boat and on the Ferris wheel. .

Bohai Pearl · Tianjin Tour
On the morning of July 20th, after visiting the China Ceramic Glaze Museum, we waved goodbye to Zibo, the city of ceramics, and drove 290 kilometers. At 4 PM, we arrived at the second stop of our summer self-driving tour—the northern port city and municipality, Tianjin.
As expected of a mega-city, the scale of Tianjin's urban construction and the beauty of its nightscape are still remarkable and not to be underestimated in the north and in China. After checking in, we took a taxi to visit the scenic spots. The first stop was the popular internet-famous site, Xikai Church. This building was constructed in 1916 under the supervision of French missionary Paul Doumer, and it was selected as part of the third batch of China's 20th-century architectural heritage in 2018. The second stop was strolling in the Five Great Avenues Historical and Cultural Street District, composed of five main roads: Chengdu Road, Chongqing Road, Dali Road, etc., where one can feel the vicissitudes of a century. The third stop was a brisk walk to digest food in Haihe Park, where the sky is round, the moon is full, and the stars are shining. This is the favorite place for Tianjin people to run, play, and rest. The boat lights cast shadows, the place is bustling with people, and the beautiful scenery of Tianjin is a reappearance of prosperity.
Tianjin is the last piece of the puzzle in my son's tour of the municipalities, which started in the Spring Festival of 2019 and will be completed in the summer vacation of 2024. Today, the collection is complete . Tianjin, as the northern port city and the pearl of Bohai, is moving forward steadily and swiftly after adjusting its GDP. Tianjin, the second city in the north, will have a better tomorrow. We love Tianjin!

University students on a budget trip should avoid these in Tianjin
We spent two half days and one full day, so most of the photos I took were at night 😂
Day 1: We arrived at Tianjin West Station at 4 PM. We booked a hotel near Tianjin West Station 🏨 (Junyi Select Hotel, the environment is quite good, cost-effective, and about a five-minute walk from the subway station 👛: 226). We put our luggage in the hotel and then rode bikes from the hotel to Gulou, Ancient Culture Street, and Tianjin Eye (we rode to Ancient Culture Street because Gulou was not very interesting and wouldn't light up, so we just took a look and left. We parked our bikes at Ancient Culture Street, walked around, and along the river to Tianjin Eye where we saw an old man diving 🤭). Warning‼️ The shop opposite Tianjin Eye that sells sauerkraut fish and rice noodles has no flavor at all, very bland!!! We also visited the nearby night market, which felt like it sold the same things as night markets everywhere, then rode bikes back to the hotel.
Day 2: We had breakfast at Xibeijiao, the Jianbing Guozi was quite fragrant. Then we went to Maya Beach, where you can wear hole shoes (as long as the shoes don't fly off during the rides 😆). Only a few rides restrict wearing shoes, and some rides have a weight limit of 80kg/115kg. It's best to go in pairs because some rides require a group of four if the weight difference between two people exceeds 20kg. Maybe because it was just the start of the holiday, the lines were not too long, the longest wait was 15 minutes. The rides were very fun and thrilling‼️ Note: Your neck might feel uncomfortable, and you must use sunscreen! It's really important because my classmate got sunburned!! We left the park around 5 PM because the water was getting a bit cold 🤓. We left the hotel around 9 PM and went to: Italian Style Street, Century Clock, and Liberation Bridge night view, recommended to visit at night‼️
Day 3: We stored our luggage at a specialty store, visited Porcelain House and Wudadao Tourist Area, then went home.
Summary:
Transportation: Subway 🚇 and shared bikes are enough, taxis are expensive 🤭
Accommodation: If the budget is tight, staying near the station is also good, quite cost-effective!
Food: Different from Shandong's Jianbing Guozi, but still okay. Tianjin has a lot of delicious food, but it might not suit my taste, though my classmate liked it a lot.

Hi, the summer carnival guide for Tianjin is here! Have a blast all at once!
🐦Seagulls, 🌅sunrise, 🌆sunset, 🎡night view of the Tianjin Eye Ferris wheel, explore Tianjin!
🗓Itinerary:
Sunrise over the sea🌅➡️Feeding seagulls🐦➡️Sunset🌆➡️Night view of the Tianjin Eye Ferris wheel🎡
🌅Sunrise over the sea:
1. Dongjiang Coastal Park: It only takes a few minutes to walk from the "Shangdongwan Homestay" to the seaside😎! Here, you can see 🐦seagulls accompanying the sunrise🌅, the scene is simply amazing😍!
2. Mazu Cultural Park: It takes about 20 minutes to drive from "Shangdongwan Homestay"🚗. 🗼The iron tower tidal observation station and the sunrise🌅 are a perfect match. It's quiet here with few people. Although there are no seagulls, you can camp for free⛺️, and you can enjoy both the sunrise and sunset😎!
🍞Feeding seagulls and 🍜eating:
Just buy bread🍞 as food for the seagulls! At the "Dinglong Yu Supermarket" on Jiayuguan Road, you can buy a big bag of bread🍞 for only 13 yuan! I've heard that the restaurants by the sea are not very clean🤔, so it's better to solve the eating problem on Jiayuguan Road, there are also supermarkets🛒 there!
🌆Sunset over the sea:
Just navigate to "Guanlanjiao Park"😉! "Guanlanjiao Park" and "Mazu Cultural Park" are on the same coastline, and there are many free 🅿️ parking lots along this line! The environment here is clean, there are few people, you can camp for free⛺️, and you can watch both the sunrise and sunset🌊. The nearby "Dongdi Park" also has 🚽toilets, super convenient👍!
🎡Night view of the Tianjin Eye Ferris wheel:
For self-driving parking🅿️, you can navigate to the intersection of "Nanyunhe North Road and Ziyahe South Road", parking here is not expensive, and it's only a few minutes' walk😄!
🏨Hotel environment:
The "Shangdongwan" homestay is very good, a one-bedroom costs less than 200 yuan, and the room is new and clean😄. Parking in the community basement is only 10 yuan for 24 hours🚗.
🍲Food recommendations:
When you come to Tianjin, how can you miss the local delicacies😋! For example, Jianbing Guozi🥞, Goubuli Baozi, Shibajie Mahua, etc., are all must-try delicacies😜!
🚉Transportation guide:
🚄If you take the train, just buy a ticket to "Tianjin Binhai Station"!
🚗If you are driving, navigate to the accommodation to drop off your luggage🧳, and you can go directly to the seaside!
📝Notes and tips:
It's super hot by the sea in summer🥵, be sure to take sun protection measures, don't forget sunscreen, sun hats, and sunglasses🕶. If you plan to catch the sea, check the tidal time in advance🌊, otherwise, you might make a wasted trip🤣. Sea-catching tools are sold by the sea, the price is a bit expensive, but acceptable, remember to bargain😉!

THE EYE of Tianjin is really very interesting ♥️
#chinatrip
Tianjin is really very interesting. There are so many people in front of the Century Bell, and my friends and I saw many people searching for a good position to flip the fence haha, it's really crowded. There is a tree on my left side, and there is a big brother wearing a big flower field on the tree. There is a sister sitting on the wooden fence in front of it, and the whole process is reported at that time. The front proposed, the left side roared with asthma, the right side lost the mother and child, and then the warehouse set off fireworks!

So, last week I embarked on a whirlwind journey to Tianjin, and let me tell you, it was an absolute blast! Picture this: high-speed train from Beijing, zipping through the countryside like something out of a sci-fi movie. Fast forward 30 minutes, and bam! I'm smack dab in the heart of Tianjin.
First things first, the architecture. It's like stepping into a time machine that also takes you to the future. Traditional courtyard houses mingle with skyscrapers so tall, you might get a crick in your neck from staring up at them too long.
Now, let's talk about the food. Oh. My. Gosh. From street-side jianbing to fancy Peking duck banquets, my taste buds were on a wild ride the whole time. Pro tip: Come hungry and leave even hungrier – the food scene here is next-level.
And don't even get me started on the culture! Museums, theaters, you name it.But the real showstopper? The Haihe River. Think twinkling city lights, towering Ferris wheels, and epic skyline views that belong on a postcard.
So, if you're looking for a mix of tradition, trendy vibes, and downright delicious food, Tianjin's your spot. Trust me, you won't regret it.

A Day Trip to Tianjin
Wudadao, a must-visit attraction, features over 2000 small western-style houses with architectural styles from different countries, various antique shops, and coffee shops, offering an exotic atmosphere. It's perfect for sitting down to enjoy a cup of coffee, relax, read a book, or have a chat.
The Italian Style Area feels somewhat average, mainly offering various Western cuisines, with restaurants and bars featuring Italian, Spanish, French, and other styles. There are also some markets where you can buy souvenirs.
The Tianjin Eye Ferris Wheel, one of Tianjin's landmarks, is said to be even taller than the London Eye in the UK. The tickets are not expensive, with adult tickets costing 80 yuan during the day and 100 yuan at night. The cabins are comfortable and spacious with air conditioning, offering a view of the Hai River scenery. The ride is slow, taking about 20 minutes for a full rotation, so even those with a slight fear of heights should not have too much trouble.
Recommended Tianjin time-honored brand, Tongfahao Restaurant, offers dishes like braised beef tendon, Bajen tofu pot, and pot-sticker with three fillings... Each dish is served in a generous portion, tastes good, and is also affordable.

The Eye of Tianjin definitely eyes at night.
Your trip to Tianjin isn’t over yet if you’ve not seen the eye yet. You definitely want to visit in the evening so that you can feel the glow. Quite amazing and awesome place to be. Can even take boat cruise in the Haihe river for that spectacular view of downtown Tianjin city. Gives you memories that will stick with you for a long time. #天津之眼 Simply awesome view 😊🎡

✅ Food Recommendations
1️⃣ Yude Lai Restaurant (Recommended: Dry Fried Squid Tentacles!!!), average cost per person 75
2️⃣ Old Artist Restaurant (Recommended: Bazhen Tofu), average cost per person 60
3️⃣ Youth Restaurant (Beijing cuisine, located near the Century Clock), average cost per person 150
4️⃣ Changshun Maji Baked Bun Stuffed with Braised Meat (You can eat here when visiting the Old Pier), average cost per person 50
5️⃣ Ordering takeaway pizza from the hotel, you can choose Domino's Pizza (delicious, I can't believe we don't have it in Henan 😭😭😭), average cost per person 60
✅ Accommodation Recommendations
1️⃣ For the city area, it is recommended to stay near the train station, which is convenient for getting around. Chains like Hanting, Lí Fēng, and All Seasons are all nearby, and the above routes basically start from the train station each day.
2️⃣ For visiting Dongjiang Port to see the sea, Dongjiang Kailai Yue Enjoy is recommended, which is only ten minutes away from the Bay Park and very close.
‼️‼️ Important Notes
1️⃣ If you want to see seagulls by the sea, it is recommended to go in the morning and at noon, as there are very few or even none at other times.
2️⃣ Most places to visit in Tianjin do not require an entrance fee, but you need to make a reservation for the Tianjin Eye.
3️⃣ Regarding photo sessions near the Tianjin Eye, do not go for the ones charging 10 yuan per photo‼️ Do not go for the ones closer to the Ferris wheel‼️ Those who take photos one by one are nothing special and even call themselves photographers, and they don't even take pictures as well as I do with my phone 🤮🤮 (I recommend someone wearing a blue vest and holding a pineapple lamp, the photos are not bad, but you have to queue up).
4️⃣ There is no need to buy a ticket to enter the Porcelain House; just looking and taking pictures at the entrance is enough, and it's super nice to take pictures there in the evening.
