View from Tokyo Metropolitan Government ✨
Admission fee is free and it’s open to the public’ until around 8pm. Great view of all the sub-cities around the Tokyo prefecture. We went there after dinner at the Hilton Hotel (5 minutes walk). Location is good for any time of the day. There are two Starbucks nearby. Besides Shinjuku Station, Tochomae Station ia probably the closest station to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building. #NightView #TokyoJapan

Stunning view of Tokyo for free
#bucketlistreboot
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building is a well-known spot and crowded with tourists from all over the world. It offers a stunning view on Tokyo from 202m above the ground, entirely for free.
How to get there: First, head to the underground rotary at Shinjuku Station’s West Exit. Once you’re back on the surface, you will find the Keio Plaza Hotel to your left-hand side. Simply go straight for about three minutes until you reach a passage leading right to the building, also on your left. Follow the signs saying “Observatory” (展望室). If you visit around sunset, you should go for North Observatory. You can even see Mount Fuji from the North Observatory if you’re lucky.

Tokyo famously have very long buildings which you can observe all Tokyo that are the top three Skytree, Tokyo tower, and Tokyo Metropolitan government building. I think Tokyo Metropolitan government building observations decks has one advantage, it is free comparing to other buildings, specifically traveling on a budget. The view of Tokyo is great to observe during Sunset and it is in the city center. Highly recommend place ✌️

God-view of Tokyo in 2 lights amongst the clouds
Visited at the right timing to witness the urban wonder of Tokyo city in 2 lights at the observatory on the top of Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) building. Visualize the city map while you study the different landmarks seemingly in miniature mode. Visit before last light and witness as the city awakes as it cloaks itself in man-made luminescence to reveal the iconic Tokyo skyline.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building
A viewing platform up at the Tokyo Government Metropolitan Building. It's definitely worth a visit and the views over Tokyo speak for themselves, especially since it's free to enter. You get views in most directions including Mount Fuji in the distance on a clear day.
There's a donated free to play piano inside if you so desire, or else you can listen to whomever takes the seat whilst you enjoy the views.
In the middle of the floor is a souvenir shop, as well as a mini cafe. There's also a drink vending machine in one corner of the floor.
You should check their website in advance for which observation floor is open and at what time.
In 2024 I wish to visit this place again.

View of Tokyo Metrepolitian government office
#tokyotrip
The Tokyo metropolitan government office is located in Shinjuku, Tokyo. It is a 10-minute walk from the metro station.
It was the tallest house in Japan in 1991. Observation decks are located on the 45th floor of both towers. You can also watch Tokyo's famous Skytree and Tokyo Tower from here. You need to make a reservation in advance through the website.
One of the best things is that the admission fee is free. I strongly reccommend here. One of the must-do things in Tokyo. Do not forget to make a reservation in advance.

Tokyo's Cafe Gem Above Shinjuku
During my recent visit to Tokyo, I had the pleasure of discovering a hidden gem nestled atop the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku. This charming café on the observation deck is truly a unique experience, offering both a delectable selection of cakes and coffee and unparalleled views of the city.
The moment I stepped off the elevator, I was greeted by a stunning panoramic vista of Tokyo's urban landscape. Glass walls surround the café, providing an unobstructed view that stretches for miles. I was captivated by the bustling city below and the way it seemed to extend infinitely into the horizon.
As for the menu, the café boasts a selection of mouthwatering cakes and expertly crafted coffee beverages. I decided on a delicious chocolate cake, accompanied by a frothy cappuccino. The cake was rich and creamy while the cappuccino provided a perfect balance of robust flavor and smooth texture. The prices were surprisingly reasonable for such a prime location, making the experience even more delightful.
The service was friendly and attentive, ensuring my visit was pleasant and comfortable. The staff were knowledgeable about their offerings and eager to help with any questions I had.
Overall, this café is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Tokyo. With its unbeatable views and scrumptious menu, it provides a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the city below. Whether you're looking for a place to relax with a cup of coffee or a spot to indulge in a sweet treat while soaking in the scenery, this observation deck café is the perfect destination

Beautiful sunset featuring Mt. Fuji
It might really get crowded during peak season, just make sure you search the time of the sunset and find your spot in the observation deck.
