Trip to Tallinn, Estonia 🇪🇪
It was a trip to Tallinn, Estonia with family. When we visited Tallinn, one of the most memorable sites we explored was the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral ⛪️ This stunning Russian Orthodox cathedral, with its grand onion domes and intricate details, is a must-see for anyone visiting the city. Its location on Toompea Hill provides a spectacular view of the old town 😍 Whether you’re capturing the grandeur of the building or the serene interior, this place is a photographer’s dream 📸 I would recommend going early in the morning ☀️ to avoid the crowds and capture the soft light that illuminates the cathedral’s beautiful architecture.
📍Toom-Kooli 6, 10130 Tallinn, Estonia
One of the highlights of our trip was wandering through Tallinn’s Old Town. The cobblestone streets 🏘️ medieval buildings, and colorful houses gave us the feeling we had stepped back in time. We spent hours taking pictures of landmarks like the Town Hall Square and the Tallinn City Wall. If you’re looking for the perfect shot 📸 be sure to visit Raekoja Plats, the town square, where the buildings come to life in different lights throughout the day. Early mornings or late afternoons provide the best light for photos, as the streets are quieter and the golden-hour glow is magical ✨
📍Raekoja Plats, 10146 Tallinn, Estonia
If you’re a photography enthusiast like we are, you can’t miss the Patkuli Viewing Platform 🙌 From here, you’ll get a panoramic view of the entire old town, with its red rooftops, medieval towers, and the sparkling sea beyond. The view is especially breathtaking at sunset 🌇 as the golden hues reflect off the city’s buildings. I would recommend visiting during sunset for an unforgettable experience 🙌
📍Patkuli, 10130 Tallinn, Estonia
Another unforgettable experience was exploring the Seaplane Harbour (Lennusadam), a maritime museum housed in an iconic seaplane hangar. The exhibits, including a historic submarine and a large variety of ships 🚢 make it a fascinating place to visit 😍 I’d recommend taking pictures of the seaplane hangar’s striking architecture and the impressive maritime displays 📸 The museum is particularly beautiful when the light pours through the glass walls.
📍Vesilennuki 6, 10415 Tallinn, Estonia
We also spent a few hours at Kumu Art Museum, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone interested in contemporary art. The museum itself is an architectural masterpiece, with sleek lines and plenty of natural light ✨ making it perfect for photography. The exhibits offer a deep dive into Estonian art history, and the building itself provides plenty of photo opportunities 📸 For the best shots, try capturing the museum from the outside as well as the interior with its beautiful minimalist design 😍
📍Weizenbergi 34, 10127 Tallinn, Estonia
Each of these places left a lasting impression on us, and I’m confident that any traveler visiting Tallinn will find them just as memorable 🙌🙌🙌
