Torcello is an island in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy. Torcello island has few residents but it's worth seeing. The attractions in Torcello island includes the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta with its striking Byzantine mosaics, the Church of Santa Fosca, and the Museo Provinciale di Torcello. The fastest way to get from Torcello to Venice is to line 12 ferry which takes 38 min and costs $11. The boat trip to Torcello takes about half a day, it's cheap, and it will take you through the various islands of the lagoon near Torcello, as Burano and Murano.
