We loved sitting on the wooden floors, eating on old-school wooden tables The bowl of Ginseng Chicken was fantastic. A whole chicken stuffed with glutinous rice came in a bowl of milky broth filled with garlic, dates, and ginseng shreds. The meat was so tender. For a stronger flavour, add a little salt to it. On the side, I enjoyed the kimchi that was served together.

Tosokchon Ginseng Chicken (Part 2)

This is our 2nd Ginseng Chicken meal in Seoul. The soup is milky and full of flavour with rice and mung beans stuffed in the whole spring chicken. Accompanied with side dishes and shots of ginseng wine, the whole meal is only SGD$20-25 (no tax or service charges of any kind, amazing 🤩) Not to mention the ginseng root that was stewed till so soft that it's so easy on one's palate. This is one of the 'Must Eat' items in my plan trip. Happy and feel blissful that this trip ends with such a satisfying meal ! 😊

To get there, you can take the Line 3 line, and alight at the Gyeongbokging station. Walk towards exit 2, and take a further few minutes walk. You would be able to see the restaurant on the left. Be sure to come early as there might be long queues. I ordered the white chicken, while my friends ordered the black chicken soup. The black chicken was priced 20% higher. There is a 6 year old ginseng, mixed with cooked rice, and they were placed within the chicken. Hence the chicken adsorbed the rice and ginseng fragrance.
