Interesting and Educational Visit to this place in Turpan!🇨🇳
#traveldiaries
I never expected to have learned so much during my visit in Turpan. It was such a surprise. This is the Turpan Karez Paradise which shows one of the biggest water systems and channels in China. It is one of the biggest water projects in ancient China alongside with Dujiangyan Irrigation System and the Grand Canal.
What is interesting here is that Turpan is a very dry desert place and people had to find ways to live. The water is actually collected from the mountains of tianshan people had to make an underground water system to channel the water to the city.
There is an area of the Karez Paradise that you can actually collect drinking water straight from the flowing water as it isn’t polluted at all.
You can also a see a grape tower here and where you can actually see grapes on the ceiling on the process of drying.
You should visit this place!
Ticket price: 40 rmb
Length of visit: 1 hour

Having a glass of chilled kvass or fresh squeezed ice grape juice is just so pleasant
I have finally arrived at the other side of the Anywhere Door - the Karez, the mother river of Turpan and the source of life for the land of fire. The Karez, known in Uyghur as 'Karez', originally means underground water channels, and is a crystallization of the ancient labor and wisdom of the Turpan people. It consists of vertical wells, underground channels, open channels, and reservoirs (water storage pools). On the edge of the basin, several vertical wells are drilled from high to low, and then these wells are connected underground in sequence, bringing water from underground to the surface. Xinjiang originally had 1,784 Karez (more than 600 still exist), with a total length of the underground channels reaching 5,272 kilometers, making it one of the three great ancient cultural projects alongside the Great Wall and the Grand Canal. The first stop of the Turpan day tour is the Karez Paradise located 2 kilometers south of National Highway 312 within the territory of Turpan City, Xinjiang, at the Yar Village. Covering an area of 7 acres, upon entering the gates of the paradise, the first thing you see is the largest hand-washing pot in Xinjiang, the Apotuwa, which stands 4 meters tall and is handcrafted from 100 kilograms of brass. Inside the park, the water flows gently, the trees reach the sky, and the scenery is enchanting. There are pavilions with brightly colored window wall patterns, long green grape corridors, artificial hills surrounded by open channels, lawns as flat as carpets, and a central exhibition hall with its own unique style, making it a refreshing and pleasing sight, like a paradise on earth. Here, Xinjiang's first professional Karez museum is housed, with a circular entrance leading to the underground Karez. The Karez underground channel is covered with glass bricks, allowing us to gain a more profound and intuitive understanding of the history, structure, and function of the Karez. From the underground channel of the most famous Karez in Turpan, the Mihmet Ajim Karez, back to the surface, and returning to the spacious and cool grape corridor, having a glass of chilled kvass or fresh squeezed ice grape juice is just so pleasant. If you happen to visit during the mulberry season, you can buy a basket, sit on the wooden bed under the shade of the poplar trees, enjoy the fruit, and experience the afternoon life of the Uyghur people.

Turfan Kanerjing Amusement Park is located in Turpan City, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, 2 km south of National Highway 312. It is a tourist designated unit for Chinese and foreign tourists to provide food, accommodation, travel, music and shopping.
When it comes to Turpan, there are all kinds of grapes in the head. One of the first trips I imagined in Xinjiang was to eat grapes in Turpan. However, this season's Turpan grapes only bloom.
Kanerjing is one of the three ancient humanities projects comparable to the Great Wall and the Grand Canal. It is the mother river of Turpan and the source of life in Huozhou. Kaner Well, Uighur language called Kaner, originally intended for underground waterways. It is the crystallization of the labor wisdom of the ancient Turpan people.
Since the Kaner well water is the Tianshan Mountains, the snow water dissolves and penetrates into the ground. The non-polluting natural water is rich in minerals. Drinking often makes people beautiful and longevity. The Kaner well is excavated in the ground and is not easy to evaporate. The water flows continuously throughout the year. The water quality of the Kaner well is crystal clear and sweet. The temperature below the Kaner Well is much cooler than the ground. After visiting Kaner Well, it is a big store. There are various handicrafts sold in the hall.
