🏯Historical Uchisar Castle ( Cappadocia)
#timetotravel
Uchisar Castle is one of the biggest and beautiful fairy chimneys in Cappadocia Area. It’s 5 km far from the Nevsehir city and 35 km to Airport.
Since the Roman period, many rooms, houses, shelters and tombs have been built by carving the inside of this rock. It has been used as a defensive castle throughout its history.
You can come here especially for the sunset and enjoy watching the redness of the valleys where the Fairy Chimneys are located.

Uchisar - fantastic cave city in Cappadocia
Wow! This is the only thing I could say when I saw this city. A couple of kilometers before entering Uchisar, you notice a huge rock, the slopes of which are covered with houses. But the most amazing thing is that inside this rock there are also residential caves. This place looks fantastic, as if you were in some movie about the Middle Ages.
Many people think that Cappadocia is just balloons, but in fact, Cappadocia is much more interesting, because every small town here is a real discovery 👍

Uçhisar Castle
Uçhisar, which is situated on the edge of Göreme National Park, is dominated by a 60-metre-high castle-mountain, which is visible over a wide distance and has the form of a large cylindrical tower. This massif is crisscrossed by numerous underground passageways and rooms, which are now mostly blocked or impassable. They served as residential areas, as well as cloisters in Byzantine times.

Uchisar Castle
Uchi in Turkish mean high and sar means castle.
An impressive 60-meter-high castle carved in a mountain, which is even visible from Göreme. When I went there, inside the castle was closed due to maintenance. But even from outside one can admire this amazing historical site and its natural surrounding. I see some people complain about a not-so-good view from the top of the castle, but this is not a viewing tower, rather a historical and natural landmark. Totally recommend it! Get a quick taxi from Goreme center then you will arrive here :) #nationalpark #urbanexplorer

Uchisar Castle
Visiting Uchisar Castle was an amazing experience in the heart of Cappadocia. The castle is situated on a high hill and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including unique cliffs and rock-carved churches. While exploring the castle, I felt the history surrounding the place through the old tunnels and rooms. Reaching the top was rewarding as I could see the expansive view stretching beyond the horizon. The atmosphere was filled with tranquility, making me enjoy every moment of the visit. A unique experience that combines nature and history in one place.

The unique landforms of Cappadocia, Uchisar Fortress, Pigeon Valley, Love Valley, and the underground city.
Today we came to Cappadocia, which is a place that uses landforms to another dimension. It is said to be one of the top ten beautiful sceneries on the earth! It is the place that looks most like the moon...
The most impressive thing is Uchisar Castle - the highest point in Cappadocia. Cappadocia was once rated as one of the top ten beautiful sceneries on the earth by National Geographic magazine in the United States. It is the place that looks most like the moon's surface in the legend, and it is also the inspiration for the movie Star Wars.
Uchisar Castle is not a castle in the traditional sense, but it is carved out of a huge rock more than 60 meters high, forming a huge community, which has a history of thousands of years! It was a refuge during the Byzantine period and a military fortress of the Ottoman Empire. There are countless holes on the giant rock. When foreign enemies invade, the water and food stored in the cave are enough for people to hide for several months without going out.
Here is the most worthwhile place to go in Cappadocia in my heart. Nature lovers are ecstatic! Explore various hidden and transparent caves along the way, and marvel at the wisdom and courage of ancient people along the way. After reaching the top, the magical landforms are unobstructed, as if standing in the center of the moon. Behind the castle is more like a fairy tale magic world, the famous stone stalactite cave elf chimney is there, it is not real, very cool! I personally think it is very worthwhile to spend half a day, climb to the top to overlook, and take a look at the millennium.
Overlooking Love Valley also impressed me. The entire valley is full of mushroom-shaped boulders. It is said that the shape was blown out by the wind for thousands of years. This peculiar landform is really amazing...

An interesting stop
#myhiddengems
This is a castle atop a hill that does require climbing a considerable amount of steps. Uchisar the town is not as populated with tourist attractions as goreme. So the castle is amongst the activities around. I thought it was interesting and in continuity with the landscape and cave theme of the region. There were mixed responses even from the friends I went with. I feel while it makes for a nice activity and you get to be on the top, so the view improves. However, the 250 Tl entrance (almost 8 euros) may be what causes people to expect more. But hey this is to do with heritage and history. It cannot be manipulated. So, if you don't wish to pay. Skip this one, plenty of cave related and similar things to do around. I didn't mind it at all. Saved me a work out and I take my time with places.

Best spot for Cappadocia
#naturalbeauty
When i planned the trip to Cappadocia. There was the question of where to be put up. Gerome came across as a popular option and more affordable, since it has more tourists. But upon arriving and spending a night in Gerome. I realised it was all a little too touristy. So along with a friend we decided to try Uchisar.
While Uchisar requires certain arrangements like your transport and be prepared to have less restaurants etc. But right from the first moment we arrived. The quiet and peace worked for us. Now with experience i can tell that there are some spectacular views possible from Uchisar. You could climb and explore the Uchisar castle. But wait till the morning and then the sunrise view of Cappadocia will blow your mind. The landscape too is very fascinating.

Hot air balloons in Cappadocia, Turkey in winter
In Turkey, I think the most romantic thing is to ride a hot air balloon to appreciate the karst landscape, but because the starting rate of hot air balloons in winter is very low, I will share some tips.
The first and most important thing is luck. Some people stay for several days without catching up, but if you want to increase the probability of catching up with the hot air balloon, the best way is to book for more than two nights. In addition to watching hot air balloons, staying for three days and two nights in Cappadocia will not be boring. There are many other good attractions here, such as underground cities, Uchisar Castle, and you can also walk to appreciate Rose Valley and so on.
The second is that you can pay attention to some predicting bloggers in the past. They will have a rough estimate of whether the hot air balloon will take off within a week. Although it is not very accurate, it can also be used as an auxiliary judgment.
About the choice of hotel: Stay in Goreme, it is very convenient to book hot air balloon and other projects here. The accommodation here is very expensive. We chose a semi-cave hotel with a higher cost performance. The reason why it is called a semi-cave is because it is a hotel built by relying on a cave, which is very clean and warm. You can overlook the town from the hillside.
About the price of hot air balloons: It will fluctuate at any time every day. We booked it for 60 euros per person. Although it is not the cheapest, the experience of less than twenty people in a frame is quite good. The off-season price is really cheap.
Finally, I wish everyone a great luck.

The place on earth that most resembles the moon
Cappadocia is a city that can "go to heaven and enter the earth", located in the hinterland of the Anatolian plateau in Turkey. Its natural landscape and long-standing cultural history, modern cave hotels, dreamlike wonderful hot air balloon trips, underground cities with a history of thousands of years, the beautiful sunset on Uchisar Castle, all make this unique land famous for a long time, and it is also known as "the place on earth that most resembles the moon."

Turkey Trip - Pigeon Valley
Pigeon Valley is a natural landscape and one of the few concentrated areas of pigeon caves in the Cappadocia region. In this beautiful valley, there are large rocks everywhere, covered with pigeon holes of various sizes, which were used by ancient people to collect pigeon droppings as fertilizer. Above the valley of Pigeon Valley, there are two old trees, one of which is hung with "blue eyes" - Teresa's eye (a blue pendant that is popular among Turks as a talisman), and the other is hung with famous local ceramic products. The towering rock in the distance is Uchisar Castle, which is said to have been hollowed out by early residents from this huge rock 60 meters high and built into interconnected fortresses to resist external invasion. The view from afar is spectacular, and the power of time erosion is amazing.

The city is one of the highest attractions in the area, you can go to the highest point of the castle to see the scenery of the whole area, you will feel that the earth is under your feet. The entrance fee is fifty Turkish lira. Although not an artificial castle, the cave is beautiful and safe. You should bring your camera and friends to come here to take a nice picture

The Uchisar Fortress is one of Goreme's commanding heights. It is a spectacular fortress on a 60-meter-high rock.
The top of the fortress is very smooth and can prevent animals or enemies from climbing. Below you can see the bodies of animals that have died because of climbing.
However. This place has been occupied by the pigeons of the sky, it is said that I have to wait for more!
