| Detailed itinerary. 📝I just went to Egypt for 10 days. I traveled freely throughout the whole trip, basically visiting everything except the Sinai Peninsula.
📝There are many pitfalls in Egypt’s tourism, and the information is not very transparent, so I will share a series of detailed strategies in the future. This article will first introduce the overall itinerary.
📝Some items in the itinerary, such as the Nile River cruise, are all booked locally. There are great uncertainties, and some days are very special. If you have enough time, it is recommended to arrange more days.
Day0️⃣:Shanghai-Chengdu-Cairo
📍The outbound flight requires Sichuan Airlines to transfer in Chengdu, which takes about 20 hours.
Day1️⃣: Cairo-Alexandria, live in Alexandria
📍After arriving at Cairo Airport at 6:50, rent a car directly at T3 Terminal and drive to Alexandria. On the same day, you will visit Pompeii’s Column, Roman Theater, Qaitbe Castle and the Promenade.
📍It takes about 3 hours to drive from Cairo to Alexandria, and most of them are easy to drive on highways.
Day2️⃣: Alexander-Matruh-Alexander, live in Alexandria
📍Start from Alexandria early in the morning and pass the Alamein Military Museum on the way to Matrouh. After arriving in Matrouh at noon, find a local specialty seafood restaurant, then go to Ageeba Beach and Sea Eye to overlook the Mediterranean Sea, and return before sunset.
📍The one-way trip from Alexandria to Matruh takes 3.5 hours. The round trip on the same day is quite busy, and you need to be extra careful when pedestrians are crossing or even going in the opposite direction on this stretch of road.
Day3️⃣: Alexander-Cairo, living in Cairo
📍 Return to Cairo from Alexandria in the morning, and visit the Egyptian Museum and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in the afternoon.
Day4️⃣: Visit Cairo attractions and stay in Cairo
📍Driving to the Pyramid Scenic Area in the morning, and visiting Saladin Castle and Garbage City in the afternoon.
Day5️⃣: Cairo-Aswan, stay on Nile Cruise
📍Take a flight to Aswan early in the morning. When you arrive in Aswan, you immediately go to the dock to book a four-day and three-night cruise on the Nile River and a chartered bus to the Abu Simbel Temple in the early morning of the next day. In the afternoon, you will visit the Philae Temple.
Day6️⃣: Visit Abu Simbel Temple and stay on a Nile Cruise
📍Departure to Abu Simbel Temple at 4:00, return to the cruise ship at 13:00, the cruise ship departs, and visit Kom Ombo Temple in the afternoon.
Day7️⃣: Aswan-Luxor, stay on Nile Cruise
📍Departure to the Temple of Horus at 4:00, return to the cruise ship at 7:00, arrive in Luxor in the evening, and visit the Luxor Temple in the evening.
Day8️⃣: Aswan-Luxor, stay in Luxor
📍 Depart for a hot air balloon ride at 4:00, return to the cruise ship to check out at 8:00, and find a chartered bus to Habu City, Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, and Karnak Temple.
Day9️⃣: Luxor-Hurghada, live in Hurghada
📍Take Gobus to Hurghada at 8:00, arrive at Hurghada at noon and watch the sea in a daze.
Day🔟: Hurghada-Cairo, return to Shanghai in the evening
📍Take a flight back to Cairo at 9:00, visit the Hanging Church and Khalili Market in the afternoon to buy souvenirs, and take a flight back in the evening.
