Wuzhou Ancient City: A poetic painting of time.
Visiting Wuzhou Ancient City is like traveling through time and stepping into an ancient yet vibrant painting. This ancient city carries a thousand years of history and culture. The ancient city walls tell the story of the passage of time with their mottled bodies. Strolling through Jiufang Lane, the bluestone road winds forward, flanked by traditional buildings with an ancient charm. The wooden doors and windows and carved beams and columns all showcase the exquisite craftsmanship of the ancients. Every plant, tree, brick, and tile here exudes the breath of time. Today, although time has passed, the simplicity and tranquility remain.
Baying Tower, an ancient building standing in the southeast corner of the ancient city, has witnessed countless changes. Climbing to the top of the tower, you can overlook the entire Wuzhou Ancient City, with the distant mountains undulating and the Wu River flowing through the city like a jade belt. The beautiful scenery in front of you is intoxicating and makes you marvel at the wisdom and talent of the ancients. Li Qingzhao once left a famous line here: "The eternal elegance of Baying Tower, the mountains and rivers are left for future generations to worry about."
Wanfo Pagoda shines brightly in the sunlight. Its exquisite carvings and towering body all highlight its solemnity and sanctity. Xichun Lane's specialty pastry street is filled with the aroma of various delicacies. The crispness of Jinhua shortbread, the softness of Lanxi chicken cake, and the refreshing taste of crystal cake all leave a lasting impression. Here, you can not only taste delicious snacks but also feel the lively atmosphere of the ancient city. You can touch the pulse of history and feel the charm of traditional culture.

Jinhua Wanfo Tower
Jinhua Wanfo Tower is a landmark building in Jinhua City. It was first built between the seventh year of Jiayou (1062) and the first year of Zhiping (1064) in the Northern Song Dynasty. The original site was located on the hillside of Taxia Temple in the urban area. It is a nine-story octagonal pavilion-style brick-wood structure building. The tower was advocated by the Buddhist monk Juzheng and was initially named 'Miyin Temple Tower.' Later, because the upper part of the outer wall of the tower was carved with exquisite statues of Buddha on each brick, sitting in rows on lotus platforms, numbering in the tens of thousands, it was commonly known as 'Wanfo Tower' (Ten Thousand Buddha Tower). The Wanfo Tower is recorded in both the Ming and Qing dynasty maps of Jinhua Prefecture, indicating its long history and significant cultural importance in the local area.

If I don't post the summer travel guide now, I will forget it.
Departing from Taizhou and arriving at Jinhua Station
🏠For accommodation, I recommend staying near Jinhua Station because we are just playing in the urban area of Jinhua. It is quite convenient to stay near the train station.
After resting in the hotel for a while, it was already afternoon when we went out.
⚠️The attractions in Wucheng District, Jinhua are very close, most of them can be reached on foot, and the transportation is very convenient.
Day1
First stop📍Guzi City
When we went there, the sun was still very strong, and there were very few tourists. In the evening, there will be some small stalls and a barbecue street with many snacks! Highly recommend a restaurant🍽️HOHO, the set meal for two people is too much to finish, the environment is very good, similar to a local food court.
🌮Be sure to buy Lao Li Bing, a local specialty snack.
Second stop📍Bayong Park
It is also within walking distance, really great for photos. In the middle is a statue of Shen Yue, the park is super large, and there is a sky bridge. Taking photos at sunset is really beautiful! The evening breeze in summer is very refreshing! You can also see the National Wu Opera Theater opposite.
Third stop📍Wanfo Tower
After dinner at HOHO, you can take night photos of Wanfo Tower! We didn't buy tickets to go up because we were too tired to climb, haha.
Night tour🎫seems to be 80r, remember it is closed on Mondays.
PS: Wanfo Tower is by the river, you can enjoy the evening breeze and the night view by the river.
Day2
First stop📍Jinhua Museum
It is next to Guzi City and Wanfo Tower. In the afternoon, when the sun is too strong, you can take shelter indoors. No need to book in advance, you can book at the entrance. It mainly talks about the history and food culture of Jinhua. There is a part decorated like an ancient street, offering an immersive experience!
Lunch can be settled with some snacks in Guzi City.
Second stop📍World Trade City Plaza
I specially bought Jasmine Milk White🥤, which we don't have in our area. There happened to be a promotion, 16r for three cups, haha. But personally, I think the taste is average, and the white orchid is a bit disappointing🥲

Passing by Jinhua - everything I encounter brings joy
Jinhua, my first impression of it, aside from the suffix 'ham', was really one of indifference! However, after arriving, everything I encountered was a delight.
The cityscape: Cities in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai region all have a modern, bustling vibe. The city is clean, with a high vegetation coverage. Located in the Jinhua-Quzhou Basin and surrounded by mountains, it has a unique geographical climate, which has given birth to a series of geographical indication products, represented by Jinhua ham!
Transportation: Jinhua has a high-speed train station. Yiwu and Quzhou to the east and west have airports, and it's located in the center of Zhejiang!
With limited time, I just wandered around the city. There are several large parks, all with ancient towering trees and shaded by greenery.
The Lake Haidang Park is very close to the municipal government, surrounded by affluent areas with a great environment. A 5-kilometer loop around the park is perfect for running!
Wuzhou Park is opposite the ancient Zicheng, connected to the Wanfo Pagoda Park.
The old town area is in Wuzhou District, with Jinhua's city landmark, the Wanfo Pagoda, standing by the river. Climbing it offers a panoramic view of Jinhua. Right next to it is the ancient Zicheng.
The atmosphere in the ancient Zicheng is particularly peaceful in the morning. I made a special trip to walk around; there are many former residences of famous people, and many buildings are over a hundred years old. Jinhua Museum, the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's King's Mansion Memorial, the old city wall ruins, and Tianning Temple are all located on the edge of the old city. Xichun Alley, Jiufang Alley, and Bayong Old Street crisscross each other, forming the framework of the old city. It's quiet in the morning with few people, and the shops are not all open yet. A quiet walk takes less than 2 hours.
The ancient Zicheng at night is another sight to behold, with beautiful and intoxicating night scenes. The shops are open, and although it's not too crowded, there are performances and a lively atmosphere, with lots of delicious food. Jinhua's various pastries are very famous.
Below Jinhua is an area called Youbu, where the Jiangnan morning tea is very famous. Many tourists from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai come especially for the morning market to drink morning tea and have breakfast. Unfortunately, I didn't have time, so I'll leave it for next time!
