Laos | Luang Prabang's largest Buddha statue and the only Sangharama-style pagoda
❤Reason for recommendation:
Wat Visounnarath is the oldest temple in Luang Prabang, named after the king.
👍Most recommended:
The ridge of the main hall of Wat Visounnarath is decorated with the tail sound of Naga, and there is a decorative element composed of a miniature pagoda covered with a sunshade in the center of the ridge. The wooden door is from the early 16th century structure, and the exquisite gilded carvings on the door depict the Hindu god Vishnu. The wooden railings on the windows are similar to the stone railings of several Khmer temples in Angkor.
🌟Highlight feature:
The main hall houses the largest Buddha statue in Luang Prabang, 5 meters wide and 64 centimeters high. It also houses a large number of gilded bronze and wooden Buddha statues, many of which are 400 years old, and some ancient stones can be traced back to the 15th century.
🌟Highlight feature:
The watermelon pagoda inside Pathum Wat Visounnarath is a Sangharama-style pagoda, the only one of this style in Laos.

Wisunnarat's Timeless Embrace: A Journey
#2024wish
In the waning days of 2023, I embarked on an unforgettable journey to Wat Wisunnarat in Luang Prabang. The temple, a timeless marvel built in the 16th century, stood adorned with intricate carvings and resonated with centuries-old serenity. As I wandered through its hallowed halls, the whispers of ancient tales seemed to echo. The sun dipped low, casting a golden hue over the sacred grounds, creating a moment frozen in time. Each step felt like a communion with the past. As I left, the tranquility lingered, etching Wat Wisunnarat into my memories. In 2024, I wish to go there again, to relive the whispers of history and bask in the timeless aura of this enchanting sanctuary.

Luang Prabang's Lesser-known Temples | 500 Years of History | Great for Photography
When I had not yet visited Laos, I knew nothing about this place.
Arriving in Luang Prabang, Laos, this is a paradise of slow pace.
There are many temples in Luang Prabang, such as Xiangtong Temple, Maifosi Temple, and so on.
But the oldest historical site in Luang Prabang is still the Wat Visounnarath temple.
🕙[About History]
The temple was founded by King Visounnarath in 1513. In 1887, the temple was burned down by Black Flag invaders and was rebuilt in 1898. The famous Buddha statue of Pha Bang is located here.
Once stored twice in this ancient temple.

❶ Temples are mostly white, and people wear floral shirts and local costumes.
2. Temples are in the category of architecture, and wide-angle shots can easily produce great photos.
3. Shooting at an angle can better highlight the contrast between the people and the temple.
🏯Almost no tourists in the temple, plenty of room for development.
🏠[About Luang Prabang]
As the former capital of Laos, Luang Prabang is the city with the best atmosphere in Laos. The prices are very low and the massages are comfortable. There are many delicious foods, such as Lao hot pot, Lao coffee, seafood barbecue, and Southeast Asian sweet and spicy flavors, which are really tempting.
Rent a small motorcycle and ride freely in the old town, feel the wind, take a sunset cruise and watch the sky slowly fall. Sit quietly in a bar at night, this is the life in Luang Prabang.

This quiet brothel is a bit far from downtown Luang Prabang. However, its fame has attracted many believers to visit. The famous Prabang Buddha image was once stored in this ancient temple twice. There is a large lotus stupa 34 meters high in the temple. This pagoda was ordered by the then queen in 1903. The original crystal Buddha and golden Buddha image hidden in the stupa have now been transferred to the Royal Palace Museum.
The wind in the afternoon, blowing everywhere is warm. That statue of a respected Buddha, who believes in it, can warm the plain sun and moon of his later life. Your solemnity, quietness and sturdiness give you a feeling of being quiet and moving.
