Hong Kong’s Arts Hub: West Kowloon Cultural District!
Beautiful for walks, picnics and clearly, to enjoy the abundant art in display, from the magnificent architecture and design to the natural beauty and historical artefacts!
Do not limit yourself to visit one museum only, but tour between M+ and its contemporary exhibitions, M+ cinema with its indie movies, Palace Museum with its more historical Chinese as well as Western selections!
Last but not least, the restaurants and cafés found throughout it suit all tastes and palates (and budgets too!). Hamburgers, pain au chocolat, traditional Chinese food, more contemporary, experimental cuisines and even bars composed some of the gastronomic experiences found at WKCD.
These are gorgeous and can be paired with a walk through its extensive and aesthetic gardens, or even a “day camping” with rented (or with your own too!) tents and chairs, which certainly will make you fall in love with Hong Kong even more!

Kowloon’s Glowing Horizons at Sunset 🌅🇭🇰
I visited in the West Kowloon Cultural District (park) during my last trip to Hong Kong, where I caught the sunset at this magnificent spot.
Watching the sun dip below Hong Kong's skyline, the sky was painted with beautiful hues of orange and pink. The view of Hong Kong Island across the harbor was breathtaking as the skyscrapers glimmered against the fading light. I found this park to be a serene escape, with lush greenery and modern sculptures creating a tranquil atmosphere.
This newly opened parked gives off vibes that reminded me of the Gardens By the Bay in Singapore. The open space was really a strong contrast to the tight and small spaces that Hong Kong is notorious for. This is my favourite park in Hong Kong!
-
I want to win tickets to visit Hong Kong again as I love exploring the bustling markets of Mong Kok, hiking scenic trails in Hong Kong's country parks (like Dragon's Back), and indulging in mouthwatering dim sum!

This year's K11 Musea's DIOR Christmas tree is winning, my top 1 🏆 gorgeous and luxurious, shining under the starlight. Secretly tell the babies who want to go to check in, the upstairs GREYHOUND café and TIRPSE are excellent shooting angles📷, good food with beautiful scenery is absolutely great~
2.Grand Hyatt
Just entered December Christmas season🎄, Grand Hyatt's Christmas tree has become a popular check-in spot. The hotel is built by the sea🌊, with a panoramic view of the beautiful Victoria Harbour. There are bonfire parties and movie nights on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day🎥, don't miss the babies who want to experience it.
3.West Kowloon Cultural District
A 20-meter giant Christmas tree is located by the sea🏖, there are also cute reindeer🦌, gift box huts🎀, etc., go before sunset, feel the dreamy Christmas atmosphere in the afterglow of the setting sun, there are gorgeous lights at night, great for taking pictures, no winter can be so romantic!
4.Taikoo Square
The jingle bell🔔 accompanied by twinkling lights is Taikoo Square's Christmas gift waving at you! The elf forest🎄, snowing tree hole and a series of dazzling Christmas activities have presented you with a magical Christmas night, the giant flowers in the atrium and corridor❀, the cute bear sleeping on the glowing mushroom🐻 and the elves scattered everywhere🧝 have pulled the Christmas atmosphere to the full!
5.Hong Kong Disneyland
Hong Kong Disneyland also started the Christmas season theme in December, with a giant Christmas tree🎄, a dreamy castle🏰, a happy train🚆 slowly driving through the snowy town street, this is the real look of Christmas in the fairy tale book! The West Kowloon Cultural District is located on the edge of Victoria Harbour in Kowloon, Hong Kong, China
The West Kowloon Cultural District (English: West Kowloon Cultural District) is located on the edge of Victoria Harbour in Kowloon, Hong Kong, China. It is one of the largest cultural projects in the world, with a vision to create a colorful new cultural zone on 40 hectares of reclaimed land. M+: More Than Meets The Eye
I've been wanting to go to M+ since last year. I've only made a successful trip last Wednesday.
There were a lot of interesting things to see.
The art pieces were eye catching and it made me think what the message of each piece was. I took my time reading the captions and I was right, there was more than what meets the eye. Either the artists really put a lot of thought to send a message or just to express themselves freely.
The museum itself was beautifully designed and it offered views of West Kowloon Cultural District by the windows. I got a chance to view Yayoi Kusama's special exhibit in the basement and I also viewed the free exhibition at the ground floor.
I also looked around the café, restaurant, learning hub, and gift shop.
Tips:
1. Book your visit on a weekday, it'll be quiet inside and around the museum, Art Park, and the restaurants.
2. If you bring an umbrella, you have to leave it by the racks as it's not allowed inside.
3. Lend a minimum of 4 hours during your visit. Come on time for your booking.
4. Feel free to join the Letter Project. It'd be nice to leave a letter as part of the exhibit or have it mailed to someone 🥺💕.
5. Wear comfortable shoes and keep your phone silent.

A Day Spent at Western Kowloon Cultural District
I spent a day here just walking around as I've been coming back ever since I tried to walk-in to M+.
The Artpark is wonderful and there are many restaurants around. On my recent holiday I went to the HK Palace Museum. I passed by the MTR stations and had lunch at food trucks. After my museum visit, I continued walking around and found a restaurant with a dog breed menu: Hooman.
I ate inside and when I went out, I saw the night view of HK Island.
It's always the unforgettable moments here when I come visit.

Promise me! You must reserve a day to come here when you're in Hong Kong.
This time I went to Hong Kong with Pangsen for a few days.
Visited many places for check-ins.
My favorite is the newly developed West Kowloon Cultural Park.
.
Three years ago, when I came to Hong Kong with Pangsen, it was still under construction.
Now it has been completely renewed.
Here is very close to the W hotel where we are staying.
Cross a pedestrian bridge and you're there!
.
Cultural district gathers multiple museums and venues.
Art lovers have M+, Hong Kong Palace Museum, Free Space, and Xiqu Centre.
You can also come here for a picnic and sunbathe ☀️.
You can take a walk on the coastal boardwalk.
We went there on Saturday.
Many residents come here to camp, walk their dogs, and have picnics 🧺.
Extremely leisurely.
.
Across the park is Victoria Harbour.
It is a holy land for filming 📷.
We took many good photos with a telephoto lens.
Sit here and watch the sunset 🌄 and night view 🌃, it's also great!
Everyone come to Hong Kong, be sure to find time to come here for a stroll.
.

Christmas in West Kowloon 🎄
Every year West Kowloon Cultural District hosts a “Christmas Market” - sorry have to quotation mark it because basically it’s for photos only but not a real Christmas market.
There are a lot of pretend Xmas houses and the Christmas trees are gorgeous.
And now after years of pandemic… the food trucks are making a comeback! So food options are not limited to the cafes or restaurants there with long lines during holidays, you can also buy from food trucks and eat while enjoying view of Victoria Harbour.
One thing to note is to avoid the public holidays -it’s so packed that your picnic mat may be connecting with the one next to yours lol

M+ Museum 🖼️🤪
M+ Museum shows a wide range of exhibitions and arts, and they definitely lean towards the modern and unconventional side.
To be very honest, I do not understand most of them 😝 but definitely very interesting to visit. AND did I mention the lovely sunset 🌅 😍
Note: since it has been 1 year since it’s opening, M+ is not free entry anymore:( also note need to follow the HK GOVT’s requirements re vaccine pass and needs to scan leave home safe

New Hong Kong’s cultural landmark.
End of last year West Kowloon District in Hong Kong opened a new museum of visual culture, named “M+”. The location is very easy to find, just near ICC Mall. It's Hong Kong’s new cultural landmark, where you can spend your weekend and see the visual culture of Hong Kong from the 1960s. For this year, as I know, the entrance is free, but you have to book online your entrance ticket. I'm so happy that Hong Kong now have this kind of place.

This piece of art is located inside m+museum in West Kowloon. The art piece makes use of newspapers which looks super creative. You can see different things happening when you look into it. There are barbies, soldiers and American politicians. There are also a lot of airplanes models hanging up on the ceiling. Looks cool!

Harborview picnics
West Kowloon is a easily accessible via a 15 min walk from Kowloon station. There is signage leading to the area. There are open spaces that are lovely green spaces, which are great for picnics with spectacular views of the opposing Hong Kong Island.
If you don't want to carry all your food too far, you can even get some food at the City Super in Elements (albeit a bit pricier).
The area is absolutely perfect for a picnic as there are trees shading certain areas of the grass. There are also restroom facilities on site. The area is also relaxing and not as crowded as other open green spaces, which makes for a more calm outing.
Even if you don't go there for a picnic, it's a lovely place to stroll around, which is a different perspective from that from Tsim Sha Tsui. It's also a good 20-25min from the former.
Keep in mind it can get a bit windy, but otherwise it is a great backdrop for your pictures, you have the world famous Victoria Harbor as your background. It is especially lovely towards sunset.
