Wuhan Cherry Blossom Viewing Guide
Spring in Wuhan is like a huge garden, filled with colorful flowers everywhere, a feast for the eyes! Make sure not to miss these places! 🤩
1️⃣ Tulips (mid to late February to March) 📍
● Wuhan Botanical Garden: A feast of tulips and orchids not to be missed! If you were born in the year of the Dragon, you can be as smart, capable, and universally considerate as the language of tulips suggests. 💖
● Tanghu Park: Tulips by the lake sparkle in the sunlight, and there's a large lawn perfect for taking photos and camping! 📸
● Wuhan Flower Expo: A row of tulips by the lake complements the castle beautifully. The grass between the two rows of tulips is the perfect spot to feel like you're in a sea of flowers! 📷
2️⃣ Cherry Blossoms (mid-March to early April) 📍
● East Lake Moshan Cherry Garden: Although crowded, the cherry blossoms are everywhere, and the beauty is overwhelming. 😍
● Wuhan University: Make a reservation in advance to enjoy the perfect combination of cherry blossoms and Republican-era architecture, and experience the blend of history and academia. 🤓
● Xibeihu Square: The stunning cherry blossom avenue with traffic weaving through it feels like a movie scene, perfect for photography! 🎞
● Luoyu East Road Bus Station: Wuhan's most beautiful cherry blossom bus station, with cherry blossoms blooming along the road, take photos from above for breathtaking beauty! 📸
3️⃣ Magnolias (end of February to early March) 📍
● Changchun Temple: Magnolias against the red walls are sacred and beautiful! 🧡
● Huazhong University of Science and Technology: As a HUST student, I really love the magnolias on West 12th and East 9th roads. The flowers are so abundant it feels like being in an anime world! 🎈
● Dijiao Park: The magnolias next to the pavilion and the corner of the pavilion together make a picturesque scene, full of ancient charm, suitable for portrait photography. 📸
4️⃣ Hydrangeas (April) 📍
● Shahu Park: Area C's hydrangeas bloom like snow, fresh and elegant, with excellent photo results on sunny days! 🌟

● Qintai Subway Station: Right out of the station are a dozen or so large hydrangea trees, the white blooms swaying in the wind, extremely cute and photogenic! 🤩

the best place for sakura 🌸 hunting: WU
Widely regarded as the most beautiful university campus in China, Wuhan celebrating its 130th anniversary (1893-2023) this year opens up to visitors for the first time since pandemic controls and shutdowns. 🌸 so this year is extremely hard to get in the booking reservation system, but it's all worth it.
Its indeed one of the best places in China to enjoy the canopy of white and pink blossoms.. due to its location where the first planted cherry blossoms seeds from Japan. The more than 2,000 cherry trees are currently in full bloom on the university campus. Follow the crowds heading to the old. dormitory buildings in classical Chinese style where the romance fills the air from the arrays of sakura trees leading up the historic university library.. it's truly a sight to behold..
If the crowd is a little too much, why not take a rest and feast the eyes by sitting at the large field overlooking the magnificient university's administration building housing the president's office. It's also one of the must see spot within the university ground.
Last but not least, it's all depends on luck and days you choose to visit, again because it needs booking reservation to enter the university. Hope the blooming of cherry blossoms a.k.a the sakura 🌸continue bring you luck and this year's affinity for a better future..

Wuhan people view cherry blossoms at night at Donghu Lake Park in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province in spring season. An opportunity for people to get out and enjoy nature's unrivaled beauty. Spring is my favorite season here in China. when the flowers 🌺 bloom.
I love to go to donghu East lake they have a lot of different kinds of Sakura or cherry blossom 🌸and they have different colors and types of flowers.
One of the best places to enjoy them is Wuhan University, which is normally filled with cherry blossom admirers. #cherry blossom #wuhan #recommended #travel #urbanexplorer

Picturesque ambiance
Still fresh in the memories the picturesque beauty of Wuhan university🏛️. Considered as one of the top 985/211 university, I would include this in the top 3 ranking of my personal favorite; for the whole environment of the campus. Flanked one side by the mountain 🏞️ and the other side by East lake (yes, they have 东湖 here). Running 🏃 around the campus everyday, will by itself make you fit and then get back to study. Lot of rented cycles 🚴 are also available inside for your perusal. Feel free to go, hike 🥾 and interact with the students and people working there; it was really nice to talk to them about everyday living in there. Definitely a go to place, if you're visiting Wuhan in the near future. #wuhantravel

cherry blossom @Wuda
For those who love blossoming flowers combined with old architecture, March is an amazing month to visit the campus of Wuhan University.
📍Xiao Guan Yuan, Wuhan University
My boyfriend’s grandparents used to be the professors in this university, that’s why until now they still live here. Since grandpa is so old it’s hard for him to go outside, we always eat here everytime i pay a visit to see them.
This restaurant is a Chinese resto and i really like most of their food. We always order the salad (1st picture). The dressing sauce is so delicious, sour, sweet and garlicky. Highlight of the meal today was the Shanghai braised pork (5th picture). It’s so tasty omg. Ive never had this before in this restaurant. I ate a lot, i even took away because we couldn’t finish it.😋

📍LuoJia Café, Wuhan
Another hidden gem in Wuhan. Located in Wuhan University, in front of Wuhan University’s kindergarten no. 1. These pictures were taken before this cafe got renovated. I prefer the old decoration. seemed cozy and homey. I knew this place from my boyfriend. They used to brew a really strong coffee depended on what you ordered. But now, they have changed the menu.
_assiralwanderlust_
This small vintage coffee shop is located inside Wuhan University. I came here when it was cold outside. Ordered some hot chocolate and hot tea. So warming and relaxing. They had some cats inside the shop. If i’m not mistaken, this place also sells some plants.

Wuhan University is one of the places you cannot miss if you’re in Wuhan. It’s so pretty especially during autumn and spring. If you come to Wuhan during spring, you can see some cherry blossom here. It’s always a crowded place during this season. People come from all over China to take pictures with the famous Wuhan University cherry blossom season.
_assiralwanderlust_
Spring is just right, rushing to the spring of the Wuda cherry blossom season, a spring ~
enjoy a spring rain gift of cherry blossoms, stained with a floral.
My_Travel_Vest.
The people of the whole country took a high-speed train to Wuda. It is the dream of every cherry blossom in Wuda
the domestic cherry blossom season. The convenience of transportation has brought the people of the whole country to Wuhan. The annual Wuda Cherry Blossom Festival has experienced the collection of tickets and double the ticket fees. Free appointments for each journey, the only constant is the increasing flow of people. Closed management will be officially implemented on March 21, and public reservations must be made when the public enters the campus. As a century-old school with all the profound historical and cultural heritage, it is particularly eye-catching during the opening of the cherry blossoms. "The cherry blossoms in March, only Wu Da", the old village of the Potala Palace in Wuhan is built on the mountain, and the vision is very broad. It is also known as the Sakura Castle, the earliest student residence of Wuhan University, with rare Roman voucher arches and a hundred steps. A group of classical buildings with nearly 100 years of history, such as the old administrative building, have jointly supported the cultural and historical heritage of Wuda. There are more than 1,000 cherry blossoms on the campus of Wuda University. The 28 "national shameful flowers" left by the Japanese invaders in the past have long since died. Now it is the new generation of cherry blossoms that the Wu Daren cultivated and breeds, and the Japanese friends who resumed diplomatic relations between China and Japan. The "Flower of Friendship" presented many times.
For Wu Da Sakura, there are many different voices now. Some say that you dont have to be far-reaching. So flying in the sky, taking the high-speed rail to see the cherry blossoms, affecting the normal teaching and research order, only returning the tranquility to the campus. Wu Da Sakura is a truly beautiful cherry blossom. Some people say that colleges and universities rely on their own landscape advantages to attract attention and admiration throughout the country. It is a good brand promotion, enriching the culture of the school and improving social awareness. What do you think?

Every March, the cherry blossoms in Wuhan begin to bloom, adding a romantic atmosphere to the entire city. There are many places in Wuhan where cherry blossoms are grown. Among them, Wuhan University is very popular among people. In this century-old university, the old buildings with blue roofs of tiffany and pink-white cherry blossoms complement each other.
Give everyone some tips for coming to Wu Da Ying Sakura:
1. Sakura time: March 21, 2019 - April 4
2. Time: Visitors need to make a real-name appointment before they can enter Wuda. The appointment can be made 3 days in advance, and the appointment channel can be opened at 8:00 every night. The number of open appointments is 15,000/day on weekdays and 30,000/day on weekends.
3. Where to find the appointment channel: There are 4 reservation channels this year - Wuhan University official Weibo, Wuhan University public number, wisdom, vibrato, I personally feel that the appointment on the public number is the most convenient.
4. How to enter the school for verification: This year, Wuda still only opens 6 school gates for tourists - the main entrance (the door with the archway), the west gate, the tea port, the Wenyumen, the east gate and the central entrance. Visitors can pass the 6 gates to check into the school; cherry blossoms need to be verified twice, once into the school gate, once into the cherry blossom core area, and everyone remembers to bring the documents used for the appointment.
Mindshow.
When the cherry blossoms are in full bloom from mid-March to early April each year, a grand cherry blossom festival will be held on campus. Thousands of tourists will gather in this campus for the sake of cherry blossoms. Walk on the cherry blossom avenue and watch the cherry blossom petals slowly fall with the wind.
Wu Sakura blooms in mid-March every year, and it is the most prosperous in the latter part of the year. The flowering period is short, only about 13-20 days.
Wu Da Sakura opening hours:
Sakura flowering period: early March;
Sakura flowering period: mid-March;
Sakura flowering period: late March to early April.

👉Wuhan is not only romantic in March with cherry blossoms, but also a feast for the eyes in November and December with its breathtaking autumn colors! Let's explore the must-see autumn destinations in Wuhan together!
🔥 East Lake Ecotourism (late November to mid-December)
Autumn here is like a natural palette! The trees along the greenway gradually change from green to golden yellow and then to deep red, like a moving and colorful painting that is breathtakingly beautiful!
🔥 Baotong Zen Temple 🎟️ Tickets are only CNY 10/person
The Wuhan version of the Forbidden City, with red walls and ginkgo trees, and the yellow walls and red doors of the temple, creates a beautiful picture, as if you are stepping into a mysterious and peaceful fairyland.
🔥 Jiefang Park Road
The most beautiful tree-lined road in Wuhan, with sunlight filtering through the layers of leaves, casting dappled shadows, and the whole street is shrouded in a mysterious and romantic atmosphere that makes you linger.
🔥 Wuhan University
Walking into Wuhan University is like walking into a golden fairy tale world. The ginkgo leaves cover the entire campus, and the ancient buildings look more solemn and elegant against the backdrop of autumn colors, making you marvel at the tranquility of time.
🔥 South Gate 2 of Yuehu Park
There are two beautiful ginkgo trees here, one behind the marriage registration office at South Gate 2 and the other on a hillside near the lake. With few people and beautiful scenery, it is definitely a great place to take photos!
🔥 Zhangdu River Wetland Forest Park
I would call it the most beautiful cedar forest in Wuhan! The bald cypress, lakes, and autumn colors are intertwined, colorful, like a natural oil painting. Thousands of cedar trees and gentle light spots complement each other, making it breathtakingly beautiful!
🔥 Southeast Gate 2 of Optics Valley Yishan Golf Club
This is the best place to see ginkgo trees in Wuhan! Go straight after entering the gate and you will see two rows of ginkgo leaves that have already turned yellow, as if you are in a golden fairy tale world.
🔥 Exit A of Sanyang Road Subway Line 1
I would call it the most beautiful autumn subway station in Wuhan! As soon as you get out of the subway, you will be amazed by the glowing ginkgo trees! There is also a ginkgo tree at Exit H of Sanyang Road Line 7, which makes you stop and admire it.
🔥 Canglong Island Wetland Park
There is a 1.3-kilometer-long ginkgo avenue in the park, and some of the ginkgo trees are already ten years old. Now is the most beautiful golden time of the year for them, so come and feel this gift from nature!
👉 In addition, there are many other great places to enjoy autumn, such as the Garden Expo Park, Northwest Lake Park, Ma'anshan Forest Park South Gate 2, Hankou River Beach, Guishan Scenic Area, Central China Normal University, Hanyang Tree Park, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Wenhua College, waiting for you to explore!

The beauty of Wuhan University is not only in the cherry blossom season; the summer beauty is also breathtaking
As a "masterpiece and model of Chinese university campus architecture," Wuhan University has more to offer than just cherry blossoms. The old buildings are also worth seeing, such as the Song Qing Gymnasium, the old library, the old College of Arts, the old College of Law, the Student Club, and the old dormitory (also known as the old Zhai She) which students call the "Cherry Blossom Castle." The faculty residential area on the southeast side of Luojia Mountain adopts an overall English countryside villa style, with each building having its own unique characteristics. In summer, the blue sky and white clouds, the green trees, the lush greenery of Luojia Square and 9-12 Square, the fragrant lotus flowers by Weiming Lake, and the 20th-century architectural heritage hidden among the blue sky, white clouds, and green trees make the campus even more elegant and magnificent. Coupled with the university's profound academic background, it is very popular among tourists, attracting countless visitors to take photos. Wuhan University, a higher education institution with a history of over 130 years, is not only renowned worldwide for its profound academic background and outstanding teaching achievements but also for its status as "the most beautiful university in China." It showcases its unique landscaping to the extreme, becoming a model of the perfect fusion of ecological art and humanistic feelings. Nestled in Luojia Mountain and surrounded by East Lake, every inch of land exudes vitality and natural charm. The landscaping of Wuhan University is a magnificent chapter where science and art intertwine. In spring, the cherry blossoms are splendid; in summer, the green shade is like a canopy; in autumn, the golden osmanthus is fragrant; in winter, the cold plum stands proudly. Through the cycle of the four seasons, Wuhan University interprets the harmonious coexistence of natural beauty and humanistic charm with its different styles and flavors.

🔥My first acquaintance with Wuhan University was on a sunny spring day. Bathed in the warm sun, I stepped into this campus filled with history and romance. Here, I found my own story.
Walking on the small paths of the campus, I was inevitably attracted by the cherry blossom trees on both sides. These blooming cherry blossoms seem to be the guardians of this academic palace, silently praying for every scholar.
Continuing forward, I arrived at the famous Cherry Blossom Avenue.
This avenue has witnessed the youth of countless students and also made me feel the cultural charm of Wuhan University.
🌺The library of Wuhan University is my favorite place. Here, I seem to be able to feel the power of knowledge. Whether it's history, literature, or science, this place has the knowledge I crave.
