#chongqing #wulongpark #武隆 #重庆 personally, i would say this place is overrated because of the movie scenes, full of tourists, long distance walking, not suitable for kids, overall, just average attraction. That's my personal opinion only. I booked the tour with the local travel age t at jiefangbei area. I paid rmb360 per pax for transportation, lunch, entrance tickets. Not sure about others. Travel period on oct 2024. The bus took 2 hours drive to reach this place, meet up very early at 6.30 am and back to jiefangbei around 9 pm.

Breathtaking Wulong Day trip
🗻Wulong Day Trip 🗻
If you’re looking for an escape from bustling city life, a day trip to lush, green and historic Wulong might be just what the doctor ordered.
Technically still in Chongqing, Wulong is around a 3-4 hour drive from Chongqing city proper. We hired a private driver for the day (from taobao), but there is also a train station there which will take a fraction of the time - you may need to rely on taxis which could be inconvenient.
We went to the historical Wulong Tiansheng Three Bridges Scenic Area during the national holiday but it actually wasn’t too busy. The weather was slightly damp but it didn’t put a dampener on our day! And the mist really added to the atmosphere of the place.
We entered through Tiansheng Three Bridges Scenic Area Glass Toaotai ticket office which leads onto an overhanging class balcony where you can see the valley below! Not for the feint of heart 😅
Then we walked along the cliff edge path towards the 108m tall elevator which took us down to the valley. The walk is around 3km totally, which is a beautiful, relaxing walk on a paved walkway. The views are stunning and even though I had been here before in 2018, I found it still took my breath away!
Definitely worth a visit, if you live in Chongqing as I do, it provides a lovely break from the bustling city life #wulong #historicallandmarks #chongqing #武隆 #nationalday #nature #china #chinatravel

Hiking Adventure in Giant Pits of Xiaozhai
#hikingtime
The Heavenly Pit (Xiaozhai Tiankeng, Xiaozhai Tianken) is a unique landmark in China, which is the largest sinkhole in the world. This amazing place is located in the area of Chongqing, which, in turn, is one of the largest cities in China by area.
The heavenly pit is a huge double sinkhole, which has the following parameters: 662 meters deep, 626 meters long and 537 meters wide. The upper part of the pit goes 320 meters deep, and the lower part goes another 342 meters inside. To date, Xiaozhai Tian ken is considered the deepest sinkhole in the whole world, which makes it even more famous.
The story of the formation of the Heavenly Pit is quite simple. The underground river that flows in the Difen Cave in the Chongqing Municipality of China has eroded the limestones that formed the local mountains over the years. That was the result: it turned out to be a sinkhole.
A pit of such colossal size certainly did not appear in one day. This sinkhole was formed gradually over the course of as many as 128 thousand years. And in 1994, in China, finally, the pit was discovered by specialists who were engaged in research of natural underground spaces, after which it was given the name "Heavenly Pit".
Xiaozhai Tianken Pit has been favored by numerous plants and animals, including rare species.

My family and I drove for about 3 hours to Wulong Karst Geological Park from our hotel during one of the days of our family holiday trip to Chongqing China. Wulong Karst Geological Park is a big place with a few spectacular tourist attractions. One of the tourists attractions we went to was the Three Natural Bridges where we had a great time admiring the scenery.

Eternal Divide of Longhuixia - Wulong Karst!
A journey through Longhuixia Gap, an enchanting marvel tucked away within the breathtaking expanse of Wulong National Park, is a must for every visitor. With a history dating back millions of years, this geological wonderland is a testament to the Earth's artistic prowess which has earned Longhuixia Gap a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List.🏆
Whether you seek adventure, tranquility, or a deeper connection with nature, Longhuixia Gap offers an unparalleled experience. Capture the beauty with your camera, but remember to immerse yourself fully in the present, for this place carries the whispers of millions of years.🤩
Longhuixia Gap invites you to step into a world where time has carved masterpieces, where ancient bridges tell stories, and where nature's wonders await your discovery. Plan your escape to this living testament to Earth's artistry within Wulong National Park, and let its timeless beauty leave an indelible mark on your soul.❤️
Tips and Tricks:
The name "Longhuixia" can be broken down into its components:
- "Long" (龙) means "dragon" in Chinese.
- "Hui" (回) could refer to the Hui ethnic group, but in this context, it's more likely to mean "return" or "revive."
- "Xia" (峡) means "canyon" or "gorge."
So, the name "Longhuixia" roughly translates to "Dragon's Revive Canyon" or "Dragon's Return Gorge." The name may have cultural or historical significance tied to the area, but the exact origin may vary.
If your going to this magnificent place keep in mind that weather can change rapidly as, in general, hilly areas capture clouds and are more prone to unexpected rainfalls. ⛈️ So think about shoes you'll be wearing as the caves and stone walkways might become abnormally slippery. 🙃 Also, grab an umbrella as some of the streams and waterfallsfa splash right on the foothpath through the Longhuixia Gap. ☔
Upon exiting the scenic spot and heading to the buses you'll pass by small vendors selling fruits and refreshments. If something catches your eye you might be better off buying whatever you saw back in Wulong city as the prices within scenic areas are generally higher than out of them. 💹 In our case we found and amazingly delicious banana-looking fruit. Despite buying it within the scenic are, the taste of it seemed to be worth every yuan(¥) we paid for it.🤤
Enjoy!💙💚💛
