HAZEL GARZA
Wuzhen, a place like a dreamy fantasy
With each step taken in the gentle glow, history echoes beneath your feet.
A poetic dwelling, is also a serene glance back, Wuzhen in summer, is a wordless prose poem.
Wuzhen, the water town! Always fresh with every visit! This time I flew 1000 kilometers specifically to spend the summer in Wuzhen!
For a bowl of scholar's lamb noodles, and for the fun and beautiful summer activities in Wuzhen.
Drinking tea beside the old street, splashing water and playing in the water lanes,
Eating a meal to cool off under the sunset while enjoying the evening breeze by the canal,
Even watching a play in the courtyard of an old house at night to catch the cool breeze!
It's completely a brand new experience!
Not only that, but you also shouldn't miss the night tour of the Mu Xin Art Museum and the former residences of celebrities in Wuzhen East Gate!
The tall pole boat is very exciting! Such a treasure of a town is worth traveling far for once!

Wuzhen: With the phrase 'Spring is not late,' I have arrived at the true Jiangnan
May in Jiangnan is filled with misty rain🌧️
You watch the scenery under the bridge, while I watch you from above.
The paulownia flowers in Wuzhen bloom this season
The trees are covered with white blossoms, devoid of leaves🍃
The branches stretch over the river, reflecting a springtime scene🌸
Wuzhen is divided into four districts: east, south, west, and north.
The west and east districts are larger in area, with the most attractions. Since the scenic area is under unified management, within the same type of street in the scenic area, you won't find a second store of the same kind, ensuring a worry-free and enjoyable visit to the shops and area~
The south and north districts are mostly inhabited by locals, free of charge, but relatively small. The private home-style dishes in the south district are quite good.
The weather today is so-so, with occasional showers🌦️
But Wuzhen in the rain has a unique charm
White walls and black tiles, misty and hazy
It's the Jiangnan from the Song Dynasty that I once read about in books
In the off-season, Wuzhen has only a few scattered tourists
It's like having this poetic water town atmosphere all to oneself
Comfortable, leisurely, healing, and soothing❤️
KASON SILVA
Jiangnan in May is truly divine, offering a travel guide that avoids the crowds

🌊The beauty of West Lake is different in each season and always intoxicating. Take five hours to circle the lake, starting from Quyuan Fenghe, take a boat to explore the wild charm of Maojiabu, or visit Flower Harbor to watch the fish, and gaze at Leifeng Pagoda and Three Pools Mirroring the Moon from afar. Along the way, watch mandarin ducks, squirrels, and fish, then walk to Su Causeway, take a sightseeing car to enjoy the sunset at Gushan, a feast for the eyes! 🌟
⏰D3: Lingyin Temple - Wuzhen

Just returned from Wuzhen, sharing a super detailed guide for a perfect evening
Rowing boats, stone bridges, Xishi River
Even though it's my fourth visit to Wuzhen
I am still captivated by the springtime of the Jiangnan water towns
Go to the riverside for a breeze in the evening
Wander through the winding alleys
Savor the poetic and romantic atmosphere within the white walls and black tiles
The Wuzhen Good Life Festival kicks off in April, and I have put together a super detailed guide, questions welcome~
🍃【Overview of the Scenic Area】
Wuzhen is divided into two scenic areas: the East Zone and the West Zone. You can visit the West Zone first as it has more check-in spots and is more photogenic
🍃【Wuzhen Good Life Festival 2-Day 1-Night Spring Outing Itinerary】
𝐃𝐚𝐲𝟏: Arrive in Wuzhen➠Water Market➠Ling Shui Residence➠Dragon-shaped Field➠Zhao Ming Academy➠Stay overnight in Wuzhen
𝐃𝐚𝐲𝟐: Wucun Village➠West Zone Street➠Sun and Moon Square➠Return trip
🍃【6 Must-Visit Places in Wuzhen During Spring】
❶ Water Market (9:00-12:00)
The spring water market turns into a limited-time Republic of China-themed block, with newspaper boys, nostalgic information stations, and street old music, instantly taking me back to the romantic Republic of China era
❷ West Zone Street (10:00-15:00)
In April, there will be a non-heritage carnival parade on water and land, and white boat racing, where you can feel the rich traditional culture. You can watch the river and take photos right on the street, very photogenic
❸ Grass and Wood Dye Workshop (14:00-15:30)
When the wind lifts the dyed cloths, I feel the beauty brought by the inheritance of folk crafts. In the afternoon, the situational drama 'Stories of the Dye Workshop' is also performed here, quite interesting
❹ Dragon-shaped Field (13:00-17:00)
How can you miss the golden rapeseed flowers when stepping into spring? The rapeseed fields form the majestic posture of a dragon, and next to the Dragon-shaped Field, you can experience Song Dynasty-style elegant activities like flower hairpin making at the Listening Wind Pavilion
❺ Zhao Ming Academy (17:00-21:00)
As the lights come on, enjoy elegant music and poetry duels at the Hua Zhao Spring Night Gathering. When night falls, the atmosphere is full of Song Dynasty charm, as if I had a dream of traveling through a thousand years
❻ Wucun Village (9:00-16:00)
Wucun Village is definitely a treasure not to be missed! In spring, breathe fresh air in the endless fields, stroll through the market, experience various activities, and get close to nature
🍃【Accommodation and Food】
❶ I must say that Wuzhen is really too big to be explored in one day, so I suggest staying overnight before returning. Recommended: Jintang Inn, located in the middle of West Zone Street, convenient for getting around
❷ Beautiful scenery with delicious food, at noon I went with friends to the Silkworm Flower Happy Spring Banquet, sitting by the river tasting the refreshing classic delicacies of Wuzhen's spring, watching the boats pass by the river, super enjoyable

Wuzhen during the off-season on a clear day is truly the best
I was lucky to encounter a beautiful sunny day in the spring, and since March is the off-season, there weren't many tourists, which made for a great experience. Here are some tips:
🧚🏻♀️Transportation
The most convenient way is to take a taxi from Tongxiang high-speed train station🚄, which takes about 45 minutes and costs 50-70 yuan.
🧚🏻♀️Accommodation
The food and lodging in Wuzhen are uniformly managed, so there's no need to worry about being overcharged. I recommend staying in the scenic area. I booked a double package for 699 yuan on Ctrip, which included one night in a waterside B&B, tickets to the Xizha scenic area, an electric car in the scenic area, and experiences like Hanfu dress-up, among other things.
You can follow the official Wuzhen tourism booking for more options.
Another advantage of staying inside is that your luggage can be delivered directly to your room, and when you leave, they can also transport it to the visitor center at the entrance for you. The service is very thoughtful.
🧚🏻♀️Other
The mini-program 'Wuzhen Tourism Service' contains all the maps of attractions and food. Just navigate according to your preferences. There are also fixed activities and performances, such as flower drum opera, Pingtan, shadow play, tea art, etc. The times and locations are clearly written there. Personally, I think you can spend a day and a night in Xizha without rushing.
🧚🏻♀️Coffee
The most recommended is 'Ling Shui Man Bar'. The view by the window is amazing, and the coffee is very good.
🧚🏻♀️Morning Tea Guest
This is a local breakfast unique to the area, seemingly only available to those staying in the scenic area. There are only over 300 free spots per day (we booked too late and missed out, so be sure to reserve a day in advance, or you can also pay for it). It ends before 9:30 am.
😇In summary, the facilities and services throughout the scenic area are very comprehensive, and the prices are not exorbitantly high as in some tourist areas. You can truly relax and enjoy good food, drinks, and accommodation. The service staff inside are all very friendly. I really like the gentle and polite way people from Jiangsu and Zhejiang speak. The overall facilities and management can be said to be the ceiling of Chinese ancient towns, right?!!
BECKETT MCCOY
Misty rain enters the south of the Yangtze River, and the landscape is like ink painting; Wuzhen welcomes everyone to check in

Check-in spots: 1 Wuzhen Old Street
Choose a misty morning, walk on the bluestone-paved old street, feel the simplicity and tranquility of the ancient town, walk along the river, or take a boat, the scenery along the way is worth stopping and cherishing.
2 Mu Xin Art Museum
'In the past, carriages were slow, and one's life was only enough to love one person' Having read many of Mu Xin's poems, you must come to see his paintings and literary manuscripts!
3 Waterfront Morning Tea
Sit by the water and listen to music, or sway in a boat, experience the unique morning tea of the Jiangnan water town, it's truly a different flavor.
4 Wuzhen Grand Theatre
Like a beautiful lotus flower blooming on the shore of Yuanbao Lake in Wuzhen, it's very photogenic, with the beauty of neat architecture.
5 Zhao Ming Academy
A relic of the Six Dynasties, it was the academy where the crown prince of the Liang Dynasty, Xiao Tong, studied. Be sure to have a friend help you take a photo by the window, under the carved window lattices, it sets off a scholarly aura.
6 Dingsheng Bridge
The tallest bridge among the seventy-two bridges in Wuzhen
7 White Lotus Pagoda
It is the highest point in the scenic area, from where you can have a panoramic view of the Grand Canal and Wuzhen
8 Plant Dyeing Workshop
The large drying field of the dyeing workshop is paved with green bricks, with densely packed poles and step-like cloth racks standing on the ground, the scale is quite large, rows of printed fabrics fluttering in the wind
Personal suggestions:
If you want to rent Hanfu, it is recommended to rent around the scenic area, with more styles and cheaper prices
Accommodation: It is recommended to stay within the scenic area, so you can go to the water market for morning tea the next day
Food: Dingsheng cake, Wuzhen duck leg, dried vegetable baked bun, etc.

Visit Wuzhen and heed the advice of the locals
If you only want to visit one ancient town, then I recommend Wuzhen🥲. Here is a worry-free guide that doesn't involve retracing your steps, be sure to save it~
🚗Transportation advice: Friends nearby can choose to drive or take a bus, with departures from Hangzhou West Lake or Shanghai, costing only a few dozen per person, saving more time💯.
✅Tongxiang travel: You can check the bus schedule, there are also buses at night~ Remember to apply for the Tongxiang ride code in advance👌.
⚠Avoid pitfalls guide: You must take this part seriously❗
1⃣During the winter vacation, Xizha has many performances🎶, such as night lantern festivals, water markets, lantern boat parades, and lantern bridge walks for blessings, which will continue until 2.25. The schedule of the programs has been organized for you👇right below.
2⃣For a visit to Wuzhen, Xizha is highly recommended for its large area, beautiful scenery, and self-operated shops without excluding tourists from other places. It's also great for photography📸; Dongzha is good for buying local products; South and North Zha are basically undeveloped, so don't go to the wrong place🙅.
3⃣Make sure your navigation is set to "Wuzhen Xizha No. 1 Visitor Center"🚩. Rickshaws and guesthouses at the entrance of the scenic area are mostly unreliable, leading you to designated shops for consumption, ignore them🙅! The visitor center is also the entrance to the scenic area, remember to keep your eyes peeled before entering👀.
4⃣There are many Hanfu and cheongsam shops at the entrance of the scenic area🎀. If you want to take photos, do your makeup before entering the scenic area, as the clothing stores inside charge 2-3 times more~ Choose thick Hanfu with velvet👘.
5⃣When choosing accommodation, be sure to consider the distance from the visitor center🚶. Many so-called "scenic area guesthouses" are actually far from the main gate🚫, and you may have to go around to get there. Ask the owner directly how far it is from the Xizha visitor center!
6⃣There are tour buses in the scenic area, take a ride when tired, 10 yuan per trip🚎. Ask the driver to drop you off at less crowded attractions for a better off-peak experience🤩~
7⃣If staying in the scenic area, remember to go to the "Water Market" for morning tea🍵, which ends at 9 am, and all seats are available. Go early to get a good indoor window seat with a beautiful view🤳. After 9 am when the scenic area opens, it gets crowded, which can affect the visiting experience😣.
8⃣The south bank of the Xizha canal is also great to explore, don't just crowd on the north bank👯~ The south bank's Nü Hong Street to General Wu area has a wide view and is more suitable for photography📷.
🗺Tour route: Wuzhen Theatre➡Mu Xin Art Museum (closed on Mondays)➡Caomu Natural Dyeing Workshop➡Shuishi Kou Market➡Jia Zuo Bookstore➡Ding Sheng Bridge➡Zhao Ming Academy➡Wuzhen Post Office➡Guo Yue Theatre➡General Wu Temple➡Water Theatre➡Qiao Li Qiao➡Bai Lian Pagoda➡Yue Lao Temple➡Dragon Dance Flower Field.
Did you get this guide😁? Bring your family and friends to Wuzhen and experience the charm of the Jiangnan water towns~

🌸Wuzhen, a heart-stirring ancient town in Jiangnan, its beauty and charm cannot be fully expressed in words. This scenic spot located in Tongxiang City, Jiaxing, has attracted countless tourists with its unique Jiangnan water town style and historical charm. Next, I will share my travel guide to Wuzhen, hoping to be helpful to you.
🍀First of all, regarding the travel time, the Wuzhen scenic area is open all year round, and the opening hours are 9:00-22:30 every day. For the travel route, I suggest that you can visit in the following order:
1️⃣Day1:
As soon as you enter the scenic spot, the first thing that comes into view is the Xizha Old Street. This street is full of the characteristic style of the Jiangnan water town, as if it has traveled through time and space. You can appreciate the ancient architecture here, taste local delicacies, and buy characteristic handicrafts. Then go to the Caomu Benziran Dyeing Workshop, a dyeing workshop full of historical sense. Here you can understand the ancient dyeing process and also appreciate the beautiful dyed cloth. After lunch, go to the Ganchun Market, where you can buy some characteristic handicrafts or taste local delicacies. Finally, visit the night view of Wuzhen. The night view of Wuzhen has a different flavor, making people feel as if they are in a fairy tale world.
2️⃣Day2:
In the morning, go to the water market to experience the morning tea guests. Here you can taste the local breakfast and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Jiangnan water town. Then you can experience the rowing boat experience, sitting on the boat to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Jiangnan water town. Next, visit attractions such as Qiaoli Bridge and Bailian Tower. These attractions all have their own unique charm, making people linger.
🍀During the tour of Wuzhen, in addition to visiting attractions, there are also some special activities and festivals to participate in. For example, the Good Life Festival·Ganchun Collection and others are characteristic activities of Wuzhen, and each activity has its own characteristics and charm. In addition, there are some accommodation facilities to choose from in the scenic area. (Living in the scenic area, you can overlook the beauty of the scenic area and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal❤️)
🍀Regarding travel expenses, the specific travel expenses will vary according to personal consumption levels and itinerary arrangements. Generally speaking, the ticket price is 150 yuan/person, and the accommodation cost varies according to different grades and seasons, roughly ranging from 300-1000 yuan. In addition, transportation costs and other personal consumption need to be considered. Therefore, it is recommended to make a budget plan in advance to avoid unnecessary expenses.
🌸What I want to say finally is that Wuzhen is a place that needs to be felt with the heart. Here you can feel the tranquility and beauty of the Jiangnan water town, and you can also feel the heaviness of history and the connotation of culture. Whether you like history or nature, Wuzhen is a place worth visiting. I hope my guide can be helpful to your trip and look forward to meeting you in Wuzhen.

Wuzhen's East and West Zha are charged, South Zha is free, West Zha is exquisite, East Zha is rustic, and South Zha is cultural. West Zha is connected by more than 70 small bridges, the night view is a must-see, drinking a little wine and watching the buildings on the opposite bank as night falls, and the small boat passing through the stone arch bridge is too charming.

Wuzhen is a later repair, but the old is like the old, the natural landscape and cultural architecture are perfectly combined, with a long and rustic texture. Wuzhen

The ancient town rated as the most beautiful in China by National Geographic is stunningly amazing!
Wuzhen, located in Tongxiang City, Jiaxing, Zhejiang, is divided into Dongzha, Xizha, Nanzha, and Beizha by the cross-shaped inland river system. With a civilization history of over 7000 years and a town-building history of 1300 years, it perfectly preserves the appearance and pattern of the ancient water town in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, known as the 'land of fish and rice, and the mansion of silk'.
The southern water town is gentle and moving, and Wuzhen is definitely the best among them. With white walls and grey tiles, bluestone roads, half of the town is mundane, and the other half is poetic.
Mu Xin described Wuzhen in this haiku: Jiangnan is green/ the stone steps are also green/ it always seems like it just rained. The exquisite sunlight that has not been seen for a long time falls on the green brick ground through the fine wood carving lattices...
Take advantage of the good times, always go to Jiangnan, always go to Wuzhen.
Take a rowing boat through the water town, stroll in the small alleys with green tiles and white walls, and feel the charm of the ancient town for thousands of years.

Wuzhen, a fascinating ancient town, is unforgettable
Wuzhen, a fascinating ancient town, is unforgettable. Wuzhen and Nanxun Ancient Town are where my heart is. Each time I recall, I can't help but want to step on this land of ancient charm again.
The regret of that day only left two hours for Wuzhen, as if I could only taste it. In the Suzhou-Hangzhou area, the sunset time in winter always comes early, around five-thirty, the sky is gradually dark, but the charm of Wuzhen cannot be covered by darkness. I brought my camera, but I couldn't capture the beauty of Wuzhen's night, I could only immerse myself in the atmosphere of this poetic and picturesque Jiangnan, and the ancient charm of Jiangnan.
Wuzhen, this quaint Jiangnan water town, every brick and tile exudes the precipitation of history. Walking on the stone road, listening to the sound of gurgling water, looking at the well-arranged ancient buildings, it seems to have traveled back to that ancient era. I felt the softness and tranquility of the Jiangnan water town, and felt the human touch and leisurely life here.
If you also love ancient towns, you must come to Wuzhen. The scenery and breath here will make you fall in love with it, and Wuzhen and Nanxun Ancient Town will also become unforgettable memories in your heart. No matter spring, summer, autumn or winter, no matter when you come to Wuzhen, there is its unique beauty waiting for you to discover.

Wuzhen is best suited for a two-day and one-night stay, will come again next time!
Wuzhen is really worth a visit, the scenery and landscape are very good, but you must be well prepared and strategize, otherwise 90% of the time it will affect the mood of play! After returning from Wuzhen, I will sort out the essential knowledge points of Wuzhen travel for everyone.
When playing in Wuzhen, you must visit Wuzhen Xizha, Xizha is the main scenic spot, the scenery is good and it is a must-visit spot. Dongzha is small and has many shops, which is more suitable for buying special products, and you can take a look at it by the way.
There are many people at the entrance of the scenic spot pretending to be scenic spot staff telling you "Go to the old street during the day, and come to Xizha at night", it is purely a scam, Xizha is enough to play all day. The old street they mentioned is a small area from Nanzha to Dongzha. It's just to scam you to consume and buy special products, buy clothes, and get a commission.
Don't take the rickshaw at the entrance of the scenic spot. The starting price of a ride-hailing car can charge you twenty to thirty. All are pits
Don't believe in the Wumei sold in Dongzha Scenic Area, the dyed grapes are super expensive, the scenic spot has put up a sign saying not to buy, and many people are still being fooled. Eat and discolor the tongue
You must take a boat in Xizha, the scenery on the boat is completely different, the swaying small boat has a lot of Jiangnan charm. You have to queue up to take a boat at night, more than twenty people queued for more than forty minutes, there will be fewer people queuing in the morning. There is mosquito repellent on the boat, you can spray it when you take a boat
Wuzhen is in Jiaxing Tongxiang, the high-speed rail to Tongxiang Station is the closest, don't buy the wrong ticket.
You can stay in Wuzhen Scenic Area, there are two types of scenic area homestays and scenic area hotels, both are watched by the scenic area. Living inside can freely enter and exit the scenic area, and you can also play in the scenic area when there are no people, the experience is very good. There are accommodation packages for 600 per person including tickets and boat tickets
There is a rest room in the scenic area toilet, with air conditioning, direct drinking water, chairs, power banks, and even free showers, where you can rest and cool off.
If you don't know how to visit Xizha, just walk west along the main street, the main scenery is on the main street. All kinds of snacks are also on the street, recommend Dingsheng Cake, Dongpo Zongzi, Wu Mama Wonton, Wumi Rice.
The natural dyeing workshop is suitable for taking pictures, it is very out of the picture on sunny days, the blue dyed cloth area is the place where the most people take pictures

Wuzhen - the beauty of the past 🇨🇳
This Watertown is bigger than others and there are two sections - east 东门 and west gate 西门. We decided to enter the west gate where we stayed the whole day and which is also beautiful at night with all the lights.
Just stroll through the lanes and you will find so many hidden places to take pictures or sit down by the canal, relax and have a drink.
Inside there is also the Muxin Art Museum (photo 15) and the Euzhen Grand Theater (Photo 16)
Getting There -
Best by car or train to Tongxiang or Jiaxing station
Attractions -
Take the boat to explore
Hotels -
There are many guesthouses and hotels inside and next time we will definitely overnight there since the entrance fee is much cheaper.
We stayed at the My Light Hostel (photo 17-20) which is meters away from the East gate entrance and is absolutely a great value. The breakfast has a good choice even bread and coffee.
Food & Restaurants -
We had lunch at 75幢私房菜馆 75zhuang si fang cai guan (photo 17-20), 41 Jiangjunmiao street which has a great view of the canal and is also a guesthouse. It is a hidden gem and not so easy to find however the food is so delicious We had their signature dish which is fish soup with doufu and green vegetables
Shopping -
There are many shops that sell handicrafts (photo 14&15) and if you are lucky you can even watch how they are made.

During my recent trip, I revisited Wuzhen, the legendary water town in the south of the Yangtze River
This experience made me deeply feel that its beauty is different from that of Venice, and it brought me deeper shock and emotion.
I remember that I had been to Venice a few years ago, and its beauty and charm exceeded my imagination. After a few years, when I think back to that journey, the beautiful scenes still clearly emerge in my mind.
I once again appreciated the charm of Wuzhen. The brick and tile white walls, the willows on the river bank, the slowly passing wooden boats, and the beautiful scenery in the drizzle at night, all made me deeply intoxicated. Wuzhen, this water town in the south of the Yangtze River, its beauty is really unforgettable.
During the day I spent in Wuzhen, my phone album was full of landscape photos. This is enough to prove my love for this place. Seeing such beautiful scenery always makes people happy, as if all troubles are left behind. That day, my mood was really good.
Compared with the gorgeousness of Venice, the beauty of Wuzhen is more restrained and deep. It's like a lyrical poem that makes people linger. Whether it's Venice or Wuzhen, their beauty is heart-stirring and intoxicating. For me, they are both beautiful places in my heart.

Wuzhen
Wuzhen is located at the northern end of Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province, and is known as one of the six ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River along with Zhouzhuang, Tongli, Luxun, Xitang, and Nanxun. It has completely preserved the appearance and layout of the ancient water town from the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China period, with streets formed by rivers, bridges connecting streets, houses built along the river, and the integration of water and town. The local residents still live in these old houses. Wuzhen is known as the 'land of fish and rice, the mansion of silk', and is a model of the 'small bridges, flowing water, and households' in the water towns of the south of the Yangtze River.

Wuzhen Water Town
Wuzhen Water Town, lying in the northern part of Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province, is a typical ancient town in southern China. It is about 80 kilometers (50 miles) from both Hangzhou and Suzhou, and 140 kilometers (87 miles) from Shanghai.
As one of the top six ancient towns in the southern region of the Yangtze River, Wuzhen Water Town boasts more than six thousand years of history and has always been a fertile land with abundant rice, fish and silk. It preserves the ancient appearance well and oozes charm of the water town itself. The small town, with houses made of black bricks and gray tiles contrasting sharply with the white walls, making it appear like a Chinese ink wash drawing. Stone bridges are seen here and there. Small boats with black awnings are floating on the murmuring rivers. Whether wandering along the riverside or strolling in the lanes paved with blue flagstones, you will be deeply impressed by the picturesque scenery and slow lifestyle.
A crisscrossing river divides the whole Wuzhen Water Town into four scenic sections, which are respectively called as Dongzha, Nanzha, Xizha, and Beizha by local people. Since Nanzha and Beizha are less developed, tourists often prefer to visit Dongzha and Xizha. Dongzha maintains the basic original layout while Xizha has been reconstructed to reproduce the ancient appearance of the water town. Compared with Dongzha, Xizha is more bustling with numerous shops.

2023.09.07. Shanghai suburbs water town Wujeon (Hot latest)
This is Wuzhen, one of the representative water villages.
It takes about 2 hours (55 yuan) by bus from Shanghai South Express Bus Terminal.
Wuzhen is divided into Dongchaek and Xichae, and most people go to Xichae.
You can buy separate tickets for each or buy a combined ticket.
All the uploaded photos are of Xichae.
The last bus to Shanghai leaves before 7pm.
(There is a bus to Shanghai from the entrance of Xichae, but foreigners without WeChat cannot make reservations, so you have to go to Wuzhen Bus Terminal. It seems possible if you use Alipay. I was able to make reservations because I use WeChat Pay.)
In order to fully appreciate and enjoy the night view of Xichae, I strongly recommend staying for one night.
There are two types of accommodations.
There are hotels run by private companies and guesthouses managed by the Chinese government called Wuzhen Homestay. There are many guesthouses in Seochaek, and if you make a reservation, they will be randomly assigned. You can choose the riverside or a few other options.
(You can make a reservation on Trip.com.)
It's cheap and not bad, but if you are very sensitive to hygiene, I recommend choosing a hotel.
The scenery is good during the day, and the night view is especially great. That's why there are the most people after 8 pm.
There are many cute shops by the river. There are so many cute things that even I, a man, picked up a lot. (aka pretty trash haha) They also sell lanterns, and many people take pictures with the lanterns at night.
If you buy chopsticks at a store that sells chopsticks, they will engrave your name on them (additional cost of 20 yuan).
In China, it is said that engraving your name on chopsticks is a good thing that brings good luck.
There are also places that rent traditional Chinese hair and makeup and traditional costumes. Many young women go there.
I waited 20 minutes to eat the famous fried rice cakes of Ujeon, but I'm not sure about the taste. One piece costs 3 yuan.
Since it's popular, if there are many people, you have to wait for an hour, so if there are no people, you have to get in line right away.
The boat costs 80 yuan per person. It's open until 10 PM.
Walk slowly from the entrance to the end of Seochaek, the White Lotus Tower, and take in the view. After seeing the night view, take a boat from the platform near the White Lotus Tower and you'll arrive at the Seochaek entrance. (However, the waiting line at that time is huge.)
You can also take a boat from the Seochaek entrance platform and walk all the way to the end.
The night view is turned off after 10 PM. It's a great place to enjoy the night view.
There's a Starbucks in front of the Seochaek entrance. They sell Ujeon mugs, so if you're collecting tumblers and mugs, I recommend buying them.
I recommend visiting the Suhyang Village at least once during your trip to Shanghai. #Night view restaurant #Suhyang Village #Ujeon Books

The quaint water town : Wuzhen Water Town
#hangzhoutrip
Step back in time, into the old beautiful water town.
This is an incredible place to spend a few hours walking around and enjoy the beautiful architecture.
The beauty of the old city has been preserved but there is also a new section with some modern buildings.
You can take a boat ride along the canal and the canal along the scenic area was very narrow and there was room for only one boat to move along the canal at a time.
There are plenty of shops and restaurants to take a break and get some souvenirs.
You can do a day trip from Shanghai. The journey from Shanghai to Hangzhou takes about 2 hours.
I had really enjoyed myself discovering the whole of “Wuzhen Water Town” that I really fell in love with the whole nostalgic experience.
