Where to go for a stroll in the park? Head to Xiangyang Park on Middle Huaihai Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai
Xiangyang Park, located at No. 1008 Middle Huaihai Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai, faces north to south, with Middle Huaihai Road to the south, Xiangyang North Road to the west, Xinle Road to the north, and adjacent to the Xuhui Central Hospital of Shanghai to the east, covering an area of 22,100 square meters. Xiangyang Park was opened to the public on January 30, 1942, during the Republic of China era. It was completely closed for renovation at the end of 2015 and reopened in 2016 after the transformation; the park has both regular layouts and natural arrangements, making full use of hedges for separation in both regular and natural spaces, creating an effect of 'small within large', and features the characteristics of French garden style. The main attractions include the hexagonal pavilion, the large lawn, the fountain, and more.

Sunday stroll: Shaanxi South & Xinle Rds
For Sunday afternoon, nothing’s feels more joyful than walking around and explore new areas of the city. Streets around Xuhui are absolutely beautiful. So many trees and many old style architectural buildings that are considered cultural heritage, but only few belong to Shanghai’s Municipal Government (indicated with plaque).
Shaanxi South Rd is full of cute stores and tiny restaurants, that gives an impression of European style influence over traditional Chinese culture. On the other hand, Xinle Road is full of gorgeous little clothing shops that makes you feel in Paris. Many of these shops are vintage, very luxurious for an specific clientele.
If you are planning for a shopping 🛍 day, come to this area. Even if you decide not to buy anything, walking around this area during a summer afternoon was quite refreshing. Gave me time to admire the decoration, so different between each shop. If you continue your way, you will find Xiangyang park close by. And many cool restaurants.

Food Diaries: Chifrijo-ish in Xuhui
Moka Bros is located next to Xiangyang Park. The ambience is quite good, relaxing, and pet friendly! Was nice to see dog owners to come and chill with their dogs. Definitely a place I’ll come back.
This restaurant has three parts: an open side to drink in summer, inner tables for nice conversations, working or even as dating spot; and a higher place to sit down in soft balls to spend your day, chilling.
Food is great, and proportional to price. This particular dish I order was Mexican 🇲🇽 stylish, with chicken fajitas. Nevertheless, flavor was very similar to a Costa Rica 🇨🇷 traditional dish called ‘chifrijo’. Made me feel at home. Therefore, there’s a huge bias for me in this case 😂
To order, you need to go to counter. They also have self-served water bottles and napkins to get your own drink, if you don’t want to wait for the waitresses.

When you need nature
Xiangyang Park in Huaihai Middle Rd is a very popular place to visit during Sunday’s afternoon. Park is relatively small, yet spacious enough to have a children game area, historic/cultural pictures exhibition wall, fountain, and a pavilion (Liujiao).
There are many people doing exercises and walking around this park. Many of them seems very familiar with the place, like it’s their own garden 😂. Many people are seen walking their dogs, sometimes dogs without a leash 🐾🐶.
The fountain area has Greek style, bit uncommon in China. There is a plain green area that would be nice for sports, but seems to be prohibited to enter. Only to admire the flowers from the distance or maybe observe the pictures exhibit wall from the other side of the park.
The exhibit wall is open, with many beautiful pictures of people, nature and architecture related to this area. Nevertheless, due to light exposure it’s hard to take a representative picture.
If you have some free time and you are around South Shaanxi area, come and visit!

The distance is short, the scenery is beautiful, and the cultural atmosphere is rich. Come to Shanghai CityWalk.
When talking about Xuhui District in autumn, the first thing that comes to everyone’s mind is that the sycamore trees and some streets have fallen leaves that are not swept away. Today’s City Walk route focuses on autumn scenery, supplemented by cultural experiences. Let’s set out together to see the specific conditions of this route
1️⃣Nie Er Green Space: Nie Er Green Space is a triangular public green space enclosed by Huaihai Middle Road, Fuxing West Road and Urumqi Middle Road. The full-length bronze statue of Nie Er standing in the green space was designed and made by Mr. Zhang Chongren, a famous Chinese sculptor. Although the green space is not large, the humanistic feelings are still there
2️⃣Changshu Garden: The design style of Changshu Garden continues the Art Deco style of the facades of Huaihai Building and Ruihua Apartment. The garden is decorated with tree species with colored leaves such as mangosteen and red maple. Autumn is full of colors, you can take photos 📷
3️⃣Shangyin Greenland: Shangyin Greenland is located in Hengfu Music Street. It is small in area and full of humanistic and musical temperament. The Music Castle at No. 1131 Huaihai Middle Road next to the green space is also an outstanding historical building in Shanghai with a history of more than 100 years.
4️⃣East Lake Green Space: A fusion of Chinese and Western styles, mainly including log corridors, large lawns, etc. Although it is not big, it is still good to relax.
5️⃣Xiangyang Park: A classic French garden built in 1941. The central axis is a broad north-south avenue, with lush sycamore trees on both sides. The flower beds and plants are quite delicately planted, which can be regarded as a place of tranquility amidst the chaos.
6️⃣After leaving the park, stroll under the shade of sycamore trees on Baoqing Road, Fenyang Road, Huaihai Middle Road, Xiangyang North Road, etc. There are many historical buildings, garden houses, and specialty shops here. Or if you want to experience the business district directly, just go to iapm right outside the park.
Okay, to summarize, the total length of today’s route is actually not long, only about one kilometer. It is a short and concise route with a strong humanistic flavor and will not step on the wrong side of the road.
Okay, that’s all today’s thoughts. Follow me and let’s explore new destinations together.

Watch world-class scenery with the champion|Secret spot in downtown Shanghai
In Shanghai, there is a stunning downtown garden that not many people know about.
Old Shanghainese would definitely know about Xiangyang Park.
A small park in the city center is managed so meticulously and cleanly, which shows real dedication.
I especially love a European-style fountain in the park, it's stunning!
The lush summer tree shadows paired with the cool and exquisite fountain are so beautiful that it feels like pink bubbles are floating around.
The details of urban construction really reflect the height of a city, and in this regard, Shanghai indeed does a good job.

The garden is full of tulips, which are incredibly pleasing to the eye
🌸 This place is filled with tulips, and this season they are truly beautiful, with the budding pink ones being a favorite among young girls. Every spring, when it's time to enjoy the flowers, I feel like taking a walk in the park, to look around, and my mood blossoms just like the flowers~
🌟 It's the peak of the blooming season, and the park is full of tulips, just in time. The most beautiful are the pink gradient tulips, with colors that are absolutely explosive, so gorgeous that my phone just can't stay idle~
📝 In addition to the tulips, there is also a field of cherry blossoms in the park. Walking further in towards the pavilion, searching for that area where the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, is incredibly beautiful and picturesque. If you have time, you must go and see~
BRIDGER BRIGGS
The season when tulips bloom is the perfect time to visit this gem in spring
❄ I like this place not because it's particularly special, but precisely because it's not. When you've passed through too many 🌈 popular photo spots with man-made landscapes, stumbling upon such a quiet and beautiful park brings a sense of leisure that is unforgettable.
🌟 Inside and outside the park, there is a stark contrast. The bustling crowds on Huaihai Road contrast with the tranquil and leisurely atmosphere inside Jingyuan Park. Walking here, one's mood is exceptionally pleasant.
🌟 The high coverage of vegetation adds a touch of vitality to this 🌲 forest. The sunlight sprinkles down, the greenery is filled with brightness, and the light and shadow revealed by the large trees are comforting and desirable.
📝 There are many passers-by resting along the way, elderly people chatting and being active, all growing together under this blue sky. ☁️ If you love nature, why not come here and experience a different kind of atmosphere?

Xiangyang Park: An old park in the heart of Magic City that has been renamed four times
Xiangyang Park, located at No. 1008 Middle Huaihai Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai. The site was originally farmland and graveyards. In August 1941, it was decided to build a park here, and upon completion, it was initially named Lanweina Park. In July 1943, it was renamed Taishan Park. In January 1946, it was renamed Linsen Park. On May 28, 1950, it was finally named Xiangyang Park.
Xiangyang Park has both regular and natural layouts, and it fully utilizes hedges to create a 'small within large' effect in the spaces of regular and natural arrangements, featuring the characteristics of French garden style. In the center of the park stands a hexagonal pavilion, which is the iconic structure of Xiangyang Park, with its verdant glazed tile roof, hexagonal double eaves, and is quite a sight to behold.

Urban Park Guide, the tulips in Xiangyang Park are in full bloom
The park is a 'quiet and harmonious rift opened for us on the absurd road of life'.
Whenever the weather is nice, I feel like taking a walk in the park, looking at the beautiful flowers, the elderly resting on the benches, and the adorable stray cats, all of which soothe my mood.
Xiangyang Park is located near the South Shaanxi Road subway station, opposite the Global Trade Center, boasting an unbeatable location. It is currently the flowering season, and a large swath of tulips in the park has bloomed just in time, with the most beautiful being the pink gradient tulips. The color is so spring-like, and they are super photogenic.
In addition to tulips, there is also a patch of cherry blossoms in full bloom in the park. The specific location is at the entrance of the toilet, and if you walk further inside to the pavilion, there is another patch of cherry blossoms. Lastly, attached are beautiful photos of two chubby cats in the park. The little guys are too busy eating to pay attention to me, ah, what a pair of happy little cats!
