Xingfu Zen Temple
I had heard about the Xingfu Temple in Changshu a long time ago, because a friend said he would take me to taste the best 'Xingfu Temple Mushroom Oil Noodles'. He might have forgotten after saying that, but it was not until today that I sought out the flavor and personally tasted this fragrant, rich soup and fresh noodles, a delicacy of the Jiangnan region! What's even more unforgettable is the dense shade canopies surrounding the noodle shop, the bustling diners, the grandma selling white orchids and loquats, and the male and female technicians providing shoulder massages for the customers. This lively scene full of life at Xingfu is all because of these 'Mushroom Oil Noodles', which have caused the place to thrive and prosper.
After enjoying the delicious food, I then entered the Xingfu Temple to experience the Buddhist Zen atmosphere. Xingfu Temple was called 'Poshan Temple' during the Tang Dynasty's Zhenguan era. The poem 'Inscription on the Back of the Poshan Temple' by the poet Chang Jian, 'Entering the ancient temple in the early morning, the first sun shines on the tall woods. The winding path leads to a secluded spot, the Zen rooms are deep with flowers and trees. The mountain light pleases the birds, the pond reflection empties the mind. All sounds are utterly silent, only the bell and chime resonate,' has made the ancient temple even more famous, becoming one of the four great famous temples in the south of the Yangtze River.
After touring the entire temple, I sat by the Hulutan Pond north of the Hollow Heart Pond, sipping tea and admiring the turtles, and suddenly grasped the Zen meaning of 'the pond reflection empties the mind'!

Xingfu Zen Temple has a history
The temple was originally built as the Daci Temple during the Qi Dynasty of the Southern Dynasties, renamed Xingfu Temple during the Liang Dynasty, and granted the name Poshan Xingfu Temple in the third year of the Xiantong era of the Tang Dynasty. The temple's Hall of Heavenly Kings and the Mahavira Hall are constructed with large materials, and each component is shaped in a simple and beautiful ancient style. There are also inscriptions from the Ming Dynasty that corroborate the age of the buildings, making it a precious ancient wooden structure in the Jiangnan area.
At Xingfu Temple, time seems to be exquisitely still, as you listen to the cicadas and crows, imbued with the fragrance of nature. Experiencing the beautiful natural scenery is a rare opportunity to release and experience the soul.
🌟 Hidden spot: In the north area, there is a quiet pagoda courtyard surrounded by a bamboo forest; in the west area, there are the God of Wealth Hall and the Guanyin Hall, and next to the boat workshop, there is a fish pond where you can buy fish food to feed the fish, and you can hear the joyful voices of children.
🍵 There is a teahouse in the temple, and it must be said that there are really many teahouses in Changshu, including a place in the south area of the temple where you can drink tea and rest.
⛰️ Outside the temple, there is the Yushan Cableway for those who want to go directly to the top, with a one-way ticket for 40 yuan and a round-trip for 60 yuan.
🎫 The entrance fee is 10 yuan, and upon entering and turning left, you can receive three sticks of incense.
🚌 Transportation: Take bus routes such as You 5 and 7
🕰️ Opening hours: 5:30-17:00

Xingfu Zen Temple is located at the northern foot of Yushan in Changshu City, Jiangsu Province, and was announced by the State Council as a national key temple in 1983. The temple was founded during the Southern Qi dynasty and has a history of over 1,500 years. It was originally named 'Daci Temple', and in the third year of the Datong era of the Liang dynasty (537), it was renamed Xingfu Temple. According to legend, during the Tang dynasty's Zhenguan period, two dragons, one black and one white, fought fiercely, causing a stream to burst forth, thus creating a broken ravine, hence the temple was also known as 'Poshan Temple'. In the ninth year of the Xiantong era of Tang Emperor Yizong (868), the temple was granted an imperial plaque with the name Poshan Xingfu Temple, and since then it has been referred to as Xingfu Temple, Poshan Temple, or Poshan Xingfu Temple.

Checked in at Xingfu Zen Temple
Xingfu Zen Temple | A collection of autumn's tranquility and beauty
A world of Zen stillness,
Incense curls, silence is profound
In the clear Buddha light,
Enjoy the peace, entrust the worries.
Xingfu Zen Temple, located at the northern foot of Yushan in Changshu, was founded during the Southern Qi dynasty and has a history of over 1500 years. It is about 50 kilometers away from Suzhou, and it takes about an hour's drive to get there. Although it's not far, this is my first visit to this famous ancient temple that has stood for a thousand years.

Early in the morning, I visited the ancient temple, where the early sun shone on the tall trees
On the first day, I headed straight to Yu Mountain and Xingfu Zen Temple~ Xingfu Zen Temple is located at the foot of Yu Mountain, very close to the Yu Mountain cable car station, and opens early. As soon as I arrived in Changshu, I went to burn incense and pray for blessings. 'The winding path leads to a secluded spot, where the Zen rooms are deep in flowers and trees', this poem describes Xingfu Zen Temple perfectly. There is a Wangyue Tower noodle shop at the entrance of the temple, which is famous. I tried the big meat noodles and mushroom oil noodles, and I feel that the big meat noodles are better, flavorful and soft!
Most of the attractions in Changshu open at 8 or 8:30 in the morning and close at 4 or 4:30 in the afternoon. It is recommended to check and confirm before traveling. The cable car ride takes about 20 minutes one way, and it's quite hot on a sunny day. Fortunately, I brought a fan. The station is the Yu Mountain Sword Gate Scenic Area! Inside, you can see the Sword Pavilion, there is a platform overlooking the mountain, very beautiful~ It is said that if you go down, you can see the Three Lives Stone and inscriptions, but we were a bit tired on the first day and didn't go down to see.
Looking at Yu Mountain and Monk Lake on the map, one mountain and one water, perfectly symmetrical, it's quite magical.

🍁 In the autumn of Xingfu Temple in Changshu, every step is a scene, which really makes me intoxicated! The beautiful combination of ancient buildings, red maple and ginkgo, all make me feel the unique charm of autumn.
🔔 Walking through the path of the temple, it seems to enter a world full of poetry and mystery. The falling of red maple and the golden leaves of ginkgo pave a golden path, making people feel as if they are in a fairyland.

Xingfu Temple in Changshu,
Located in the secluded valley of Yushan,
Famous for a poem 'Title Broken Mountain Temple Back Zen Court' written by Tang Dynasty poet Chang Jian,
Became one of the four famous temples in the south of the Yangtze River.
The scenery is needless to say,
The mountain spring in front of the temple is ding-dong,
The winding path in the temple is secluded,
Every step is a scene,
It makes people linger.
👍
Inside Xingfu Zen Temple,
I haven't explored the autumn colors of this year,
Yesterday evening,
Under the afterglow of the setting sun,
I went to the valley where Xingfu Temple is located,
Outside the temple,
I took a picture of the ancient temple with yellow walls in the secluded valley of Yushan.
The colorful autumn colors of Yushan,
Is intoxicating,
Xingfu Zen Temple is also desirable.
Take a break,
Go inside the mountain temple,
By the side of the white lotus pond,
There is a tree with a beautiful posture of chicken claw maple,
I guess it should be red,
That is a scene that must be appreciated in the autumn colors of Xingfu Temple.
🍂
The beauty of autumn is just right,
Go to Yushan to find,
The autumn color you like,
Whether it's beautiful or not,
But there is always a scene,
You and I will both be moved and like.
📷
In the deep autumn,
There is a beautiful sunset in the evening,
The Xingfu Temple I shot with a drone,
Do you like it?

Experience the beauty of yellow walls and red leaves
In Xingfu Zen Temple, red leaves blend with yellow ones, antiquity reflects vibrancy, the past merges with the present, the temple is embedded in the scenery, presenting the most beautiful autumn and winter. The green water gently waves, reflecting red, green, yellow, and orange, evoking several rounds of ancient charm and deep thoughts. Golden yellow, light yellow, yellow with a hint of green, and the dry and indistinct earthy yellow, along with the strikingly bright red, suddenly create a sense of beauty in the 'forest all dyed'.
